  • Piezoelectric fields built in I $n_{x}$G $a_1$$_{-x}$N/GaN (x=0.06∼0.1) quantum wells (QWs) have been estimated by comparing the transition energies, both calculated and measured by photoluminescence (PL). The calculation was numerically carried out with a rectangular QW model, where the effective bandgap considering a bowing facto, energy levels quantized for the lowest lying electrons and heavy holes (1e-lhh), and biaxial compressive strain were included except for the piezoelectric fields. The calculated values were observed to be larger (9∼15 meV) than the measured values by PL, which was considered to be caused by the piezoelectric fields built in InGaN/GaN QW interface. In addition, we observed the energy shift by measuring the EPDPL (excitation power-dependent PL), which was compared with the energy difference caused by the piezoelectric fields.

  • In this study, the values of the four kinds of cone factors($N_{kt}$, $N_{ke}$, $N_{{\Delta}u}$, and recently proposed $N_e$) and the soil properties, for the northeastern part of Shiwha area, were investigated. The measured and calculated undrained strengths, which have been obtained from the various experimental data, were compared with each other, and their relationship with the plastic index was also studied. The strength from the $N_{{\Delta}u}$ method was unexpectedly not reasonable and the higher values of cone factors were observed with the larger plastic index.

  • The electrochemical reduction reactions of N '-aryl-N-alkyl-N-nitrosourea derivatives with a glassy carbon electrode were diffusion controlled and irreversible. The exchange kinetic constant ko values for reduction reaction of the N '-aryl-N-alkyl-N-nitrosoureas were at the range of $1.48{\times}10^{-6}{\sim}5.32{\times}10^{-7}\;cm/sec.$ The $k_0$ values for phenyl substituted on the aryl position were about 1.3∼2.8 times higher than that of other substituents. The same substituent for aryl groups on the both of N '-aryl-N-alkyl-N-nitrosourea and N '-aryl-N-(2-chloroethyl)-N-nitrosourea exhibited same value. The $E_p$ value was shifted to the negative direction as pH increased. The number of protons participated to the reduction was 4∼5, respectively. The substituent effect of aryl group on the reduction potential was not observed in this case.

  • This study was aimed at giving help to the people intending to change their own hair color design and also providing the guide line to the cosmetic circles for developing new hair color design and promoting sales by statistically analyzing seasonal changes of hair colors puplished on women's magazines(Vogue Korea, Estetica Korea, Woman Chosun, Ce.ci) from 2003 to 2006. The researching methods were as follows; (1) hair colors published on women's magazines from september 2003 to August 2006 were measured by N.C.S. color reader(4 magazines $\times$10 main hair colors/magazine $\times$ 12 months $\times$ 3 years = 1,440 colors). (2) N.C.S. tone is made of percentage, so measured values and chromas were statistically analyzed by mean, standard deviation, and seasonal deferences were statistically analyzed by t-test and specified on high significant values. But hues were not made of percentage, so these were statistically analyzed by cross tabulation analysis, $x^2$ -test and specified on high significant values. These all had been analyzed by SPSS program(ver. 11.0). The results were as follows; (1) Usually seasonal changes of hair values were significant, specially in foreign licensed magazines, and bright values appeared in S/S and dark values in F/W. (2) Seasonal changes of hair hues were significant only on foreign women's magazines. Therefore seasonal changes of korean hair colors were not significant compared by foreign hair colors because of hardness of color changes of dark black hair and hair damages by hair tints and bleaches and trends of well being and hair care. But hair color changes have been developed gradually and will developed furthermore. So korean hair cosmetic circles have to present hair color trends deferenciated by seasons. And S/S hair values have to be brignt and F/W have to be dark. And new seasonal hair hues matched by korean have to be developed and presented.

  • In this paper, the theoritical breakdown characteristics of $N_2$and $SF_{6}$ in uniform field are studied by streamer criterion and the effective ionisation coefficients. Evaluation of the breakdown voltage for $N_2$and $SF_{6}$ has been done over following ranges: $N_2$: 100.0 $\leq$pd$\leq$10000.0(Torr cm) $SF_{6}$: 100.0$\leq$pd$\leq$6000.0(Torr cm) Computed values are compared with those of experiment. The results show a good agreement between the computed and the experimental values.

  • The retardation effect of fatigue crack propagation after cyclic overloading seems to be affected by strain hardening exponent. Namely, for the material with high values of n, the delay effect is found to be severe. We proposed a modified crack retardation equation which may apply the retardation of fatigue crack growth after a cyclic overloading, as (da/dN)'$_{cyc}$=($\mu$n+λ)B $\Delta$ $K^{q}$ /[(1- $R_{eff}$) $K_{cf}$$\Delta$K]. where, $R_{eff}$ is effective stress ratio [=( $K_{min}$-K, os)/( $K_{max}$$K_{res}$)] The constants $\mu$=-0.5 and λ=0.6, and the values are found to be identical for materials such as aluminum (A 1060), steel (SS 34), brass ( $B_{s}$ SIB) and stainless steel (SUS 304) used in this investigation. • $SF_6$ gas is widely used in industrial of insulation field. In this paper, $N_2$ is mixed to improve pure $SF_6$ gas characteristics. Electron transport coefficients in $SF_6-N_2$ mixture gases are simulated in range of E/N values from 70 to 400 [Td] at 300K and 1 Torr by using Boltzmann equation method. The results have been obtained by using the electron collision cross sections by TOF, PT, SST sampling, compared with the experimental data determined by the other author. It also proved the reliability of the electron collision cross sections and shows the practical values of computer simulation. The result of Boltzmann equation and Monte Carlo Simulation has been compared with experimental data by Ohmori, Lucas and Carter. The swarm parameter from the swarm study are expected to sever as a critical test of current theories of low energy scattering by atoms and molecules.

  • The advent of highly integrated, high-power electronics requires low a coefficient of thermal expansion performance to prevent delamination between the heat dissipation material and substrate. This paper reports a preliminary study on the manufacturing technology of gas reaction control composite material, focusing on the prediction of the thermal expansion coefficients of Al-AlN composite materials. We obtained numerical equivalent property values by using finite element analysis and compared the values with theoretical formulas. Al-AlN should become the optimal composite material when the proportion of the reinforcing phase is approximately 0.45.
