A study on thermal properties for a single-layer metal and two-layer composites was investigated for the heat-sink application. For the single-layer metal, an aluminum alloy (Al6061) was selected. A screen printed aluminum nitride (AlN) layer on the Al6061 substrate was chosen for the two-layer composites. The thermal conductivity of the sample was determined from the thermal diffusivity measured by the light flash analysis (LFA), specific heat and density. Measured thermal property values were compared to calculated values using the data from the references. The thermal conductivity of composites with screen printed AlN layer on the Al6061 substrate decreased linearly with increasing the thickness of AlN layer. Measured values of the thermal conductivity for composites with $53{\mu}m$ and $163{\mu}m$ thick AlN layers were $114.1W/m{\cdot}K$ and $72.3W/m{\cdot}K$, respectively. In particular, the thermal conductivity of the screen-printed AlN layer was demonstrated by appling the rule of mixture in view point of thermal resistivity. Measured values of the thermal conductivity for AlN layers with the thickness of $53{\mu}m$ and $163{\mu}m$ showed $9.35W/m{\cdot}K$ and $12.40W/m{\cdot}K$, respectively.
$^{15}N$-Isotope concentrations of groundwater from l4 wells with different land-use types in Kyonggi Province were measured to investigate the nitrate contamination sources. Water samples were collected monthly from January to December 1997 and analyzed for pH. PC, anions (fluoride, chloride, nitrate, sulfate, inorganic phosphate, and bicarbonate), and canons (calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium). For the analysis of the $^{15}N/^{14}N$ ratio as ${\delta}^{15}N$, $N_2$ samples were prepared through Kjeldahl-Rittenberg method and were analyzed using an isotope ratio mass spectrometer (VG Optima IRMS). Reproducibility of the method and precision of the IRMS were below 1.0‰ and 0.1‰, respectively. The ionic composition of each groundwater sample was only slightly different according to the land-use type. The nitrate concentrations of groundwater in cropland or livestock farming areas were higher than those in the residential area. The percentages of nitrate to total anions of groundwater samples from the livestock farming area were higher than those of other areas. The ${\delta}^{15}N$ values of ammonium sulfate, urea, groundwater sample in the non-contaminated area, and water from the animal manure septic tank were -2.7, 1.4, 5.5, and 27.2‰, respectively. Based on the ${\delta}^{15}N$ values, the sources of nitrate could be classified as originated from chemical fertilizers with ${\delta}^{15}N$ values below 5% and as from animal manure or municipal waste with ${\delta}^{15}N$ values over 10‰. In most cases, contamination sources investigated from ${\delta}^{15}N$ values of groundwater samples were correlated with the specific sources according to the land-use types. However, some ${\delta}^{15}N$ values did not matched the apparent land-use types, and there were seasonal variations of ${\delta}^{15}N$ values within the same well. These results suggest that the groundwater quality was affected by two or more contamination sources and the contribution of each source to the groundwater quality varied depending on the sampling season.
This experiment was carried out in order to study the effect of nitrogen fertilization on the growth of Colonial bentgrass and thatch accumulation under no removing clipping residues. Nitrogen fertilization was applied as 4 levels, 10, 20, 25 and 20gN/m$^2$, respectively. The results were as follows : 1.Response of plant length and dry weight of thatch to N fertilization were significant differences between N levels. It suggested that N fertilization with no clipping residues greatly affected to the growth and thatch accumulation of colonial bentgrass.2.Plant length, the dry weight of clipping residues and coverage were obtained the highest values at 20g N. It was assumed that 20gN/m$^2$ is the limiting N level to obtain the favorable growth of Colonial bentgrass. 3.The dry weight of thatch and lignin content were increased with high nitrogen fertilization level. 4.The dry weight of thatch indicated positive significant correlation with lignin content. 5. The dry weight of thatch per N(THg/N) at 20g~25g/m$^2$ levels were obtained the lowest values than of other levels of N. It may be due to the stimulating of microbial activity by adequate to N fertilizers which increased mineralization of thatch.
Knowledge of N accumulation during the vegetative growth stage of rice (Oryza sativa L.) is useful for determining the need for topdressing fertilizer N at panicle initiation and booting stage. The chlorophyll content showing SPAD threshold values generated by a simple and portable diagnostic instrument, chlorophyll meter, enables implement the measures of greenness and/or relative chlorophyll contents of leaves. Two-year field experiment was conducted to evaluate the possible application of the chlorophyll meter for N diagnosis in transplanted paddy rice. The chlorophyll meter threshold values (SPAD reading) were taken from uppermost fully expanded leaves at 10days interval from 10 days after transplanting. SPAD readings and N contents of rice leaf blade were closely related at the maximum tillering stage. SPAD readings during growth period showed M-shaped distribution, sharply finished to drop at 20 days after heading date. As N fertilizer increased, the SPAD readings increased. The SPAD readings showed more critical and clear difference in immature paddy field than in ordinary paddy field, where the former soil showed higher response to N fertilizer topdressed. Based on the PAD readings for obtaining an optimum sink size bearing the maximum grain yield, N fertilizer to be dressed at the panicle initiation stage is to be adjusted within the SPA$\times$tillers value range 888 in ordinary paddy, and 800 in immature paddy vice. Among the cultivars tested, Huckhyangbyeo, Jinpumbyeo, Ansungbyeo, Sobibyeo, Manpungbyeo, Sangmibyeo, Jinbongbyeo, showed high SPAD values, whereas the cultivars, Nonghobyeo, Saechuchungbyeo, Hwabongbyeo, Mananbyeo, did low values and others intermediate SPAD threshhold values.
The purpose of this study was to the determine the optimal torques values to tighten the retaining screw. 3-different implant system tested were as follows : Branemark implant system$(3.75mmD{\times}100mm)$, Steri-Oss implant system$(3.8mmD{\times}10mm)$. One fixtures of each implant system was mounted into the epoxy resin block and abutment/superstructure complex was constructed. Eighty dental college students(male : 40, female : 40) of Chosun University were selected and were asked to tighten the retaining screws. Abutment/superstructure complex of each implant system was tightened to the maximum torque by use of hand-held screw driver, and then torque value was measured with torque value was measured with torque driver(Tohnichi torque driver, model 20 FTD, Tohnichi MFG, Co., LTD., Tokyo, Japan). Abutment/superstructure complex of each implant system was titghtened to each torque of 10 N-cm, 20 N-cm and 30 N-cm, and then the dynamic load(vertical & diagonal load) was applied to the abutment / superstructure complex. The gap between abutment/superstrure in each implant system was measured with 3-dimensional measuring microscope(model No. 850, Germany). The results were as follow : 1. Torque values according to the individual subjects showed wide range. 2. Torque values according to sex showed statistical significant difference. Those are as follows : in case of male, $9.38{\pm}2.93$ N-cm ; incase of female, $7.80{\pm}2.25$ N-cm. 3. Torque values according t implant systems showed statistical significant difference. Those are as follows : in ase of Branemark implant system, $6.54{\pm}1.54$ N-cm : in ase of Steri-Oss implant system, $10.1{\pm}2.88$ N-cm ; in case of IMZ implant system, $9.18{\pm}2.17$ N-cm. 4. The more torque value of tightening screw was increased, the less the gap was after the vertical and diagonal loading. 5. The gap after the diagonal loading was greater than that after the vertical loading. 6. The magnitude of gap between abutment/superstructure in order of IMZ, Steri-Oss, Branemark implant system after the verical and diagonal loading. 7. The gap under the diagonal loading after applying 30 N-cm torque showed no statistical significant difference in cases of the Branemark system and the Steri-Oss implant system but it showed significant different in case of the IMZ implant system.
The potential for a given anticholinesterase pesticide to exhibit age-related toxicity is essential information for an accurate and proper risk assessment of that compound. This investigation was designed to study the age-related toxicity of active metabolites of four organophosphates using in vitro detoxification measurement. The blood samples were collected from 1 month and 18 months old rats. The $IC_{50}$ values of mouse brain recombinant AChE of chlorpyrifos-oxon, diazoxon, malaoxon and paraoxon were 10.35, 112.84, 151.28 and 18.43 nM, respectively. When the plasma of young rats, and $CaCI_2$were added, the $IC_{50}$ values of mouse brain recombinant AChE of chlorpyrfos-oxon, diazoxon, malaoxon and paraoxon were 31.89, 164.25, 139.94 and 16.36 nM, respectively. The $IC_{50}$ values of mouse brain recombinant AChE of chlorpyrifos-oxon, diazoxon, malaoxon and paraoxon were changed to 136.840, 1244.45, 654.54 and 52.66 nM by A-esterases In adult rats. These results suggest that four organophosphates have a potential toxicity to exhibit age-related sensitivity.

The paper describes the electron transport characteristics in SP$_{6}$+He gas calculated E/N values 0.1~700[Td] by the Monte Carlos simulation and Boltzmann equation method using a set of electron collision cross sections determined by the authors and the values of electron swarm parameters obtained by TOF method. This study gained the values of the electron swarm parameters such as the electron drift velocity the electron ionization or attachment coefficients longitudinal and transverse diffusion coefficients for SF$_{6}$+He gas at a range of E/N.E/N.
The association constants (K) of 3,5,N-trimethyl pyridinium iodide in 95 volume percent ethanol-water mixed solvent were determined by a modified UV and conductance method at $25^{\circ},\;30{\circ},\;40{\circ}\;and\;50{\circ}C$ over the pressure range 1 to 2000 bars. The association process is enhanced with increasing pressure and decreasing temperature. From K values, we obtained the total partial molar volume change (${\Delta}V$) and some thermodynamic parameters. The electrostriction volume (${\Delta}V_{el}$) and intrinsic volume (${\Delta}V_{in}$) were also evaluated. The values of ${\Delta}V,\;{\Delta}V_{el},\;{\Delta}V_{in}$ are negative, negative and positive, respectively, and the absolute values of all these three decrease with increasing pressure and temperature. The ion-pair size (a) were varied 3 to 6 ${\AA}$, with pressure and temperature. The solvation number (n) decreased from 2 to 0.5 with increasing temperature.
A time-series sediment trap was deployed at 1,034 m water depth in the eastern Bransfield Strait for a complete year from December 25, 1998 to December 24, 1999. About 99% of total mass flux was trapped during an austral summer, showing distinct seasonal variation. Biogenic particles (biogenic opal, particulate organic carbon, and calcium carbonate) account for about two thirds of annual total mass flux $(49.2\;g\;m^{-2})$, among which biogenic opal flux is the most dominant (42% of the total flux). A positive relationship (except January) between biogenic opal and total organic carbon fluxes suggests that these two variables were coupled, due to the surface-water production (mainly diatoms). The relatively low $\delta^{13}C$ values of settling particles result from effects on C-fixation processes at low temperature and the high $CO_2$ availability to phytoplankton. The correspondingly low $\delta^{l5}N$ values are due to intense and steady input of nitrates into surface waters, reflecting an unlikely nitrate isotope fractionation by degree of surface-water production. The $\delta^{l5}N$ and $\delta^{l3}C$ values of sinking particles increased from the beginning to the end of a presumed phytoplankton bloom, except for anomalous $\delta^{l5}N$ values. Krill and the zooplankton fecal pellets, the most important carriers of sinking particles, may have contributed gradually to the increasing $\delta^{l3}C$ values towards the unproductive period through the biomodification of the $\delta^{l3}C$ values in the food web, respiring preferentially and selectively $^{12}C$ atoms. Correspondingly, the increasing $\delta^{l5}N$ values in the intermediate-water trap are likely associated with a switch in source from diatom aggregates to some remains of zooplankton, because organic matter dominated by diatom may be more liable and prone to remineralization, leading to greater isotopic alteration. In particular, the tendency for abnormally high $\delta^{l5}N$ values in February seems to be enigmatic. A specific species dominancy during the production may be suggested as a possible and speculative reason.
