The Cu/Ni/Cu(002)/Si(100) films which have perpendicular magnetic anisotropy were deposited by e-beam evaporation methods. From the reflection high energy electron diffraction pattern, the films were confirmed to be grown epitaxially on silicon. After 2X lots ions/$\textrm{cm}^2$ C+ irradiation, magnetic easy-axis was changed from surface normal to in-plane as shown in the hysteresis loop of magneto-optical Kerr effects. It became manifest from analysis of X-ray reflectivity and grazing incident X-ray diffraction that even though interface between top Cu layer and Ni layer became rougher, the contrast of Cu and Ni's electron density became manifest after ion irradiation. In addition, the strain after deposition of the films was relaxed after ion irradiation. Strain relaxation related with change of magnetic properties and mechanism of intermixed layer's formation was explained by thermo-chemical driving force due to elastic and inelastic collision of ions.

It is increasingly necessary to use poly-Si n's as high resolution and integration of Tn for LCD. Excimer Laser Crystallization (ELC) of a-Si is mainly used as a low temperature process. But the ELC method for the fabrication of poly-Si has the eruption problems associated with hydrogen in the a-Si film. So we need a dehydro-genation process additionally. Hydrogen in a-Si film can degrade the quality of poly-Si film and electrical properties of device due to the hydrogen eruption and voids which occur during the excimer laser annealing. In this study, we propose mesh-type PECVD as the a-Si film deposition method for achieving the low concentration hydrogen. Mesh-type PECVD was found to reduce the hydrogen content substantially. We could obtain a as-deposited a-Si film with hydrogen contents less than $1\%$ at $300^{\circ}C$. We also investigated the behavior by XeCl excimer laser annealing of a-Si fabricated by mesh-type PECVB. As a result, we were able to confirm the broad process window in contrast to the narrow process range typically obtained in ELC. Hydrogen eruption was not observed in poly-Si films after ELC These results suggests that mesh-type PECVD is a viable method to achieve the low hydrogen content a-Si and improve the process windows for ELC.
Amorphous $V_2O_5$ cathode thin films were prepared by DC-magnetron sputtering at room temperature and the thin film rechargeable lithium batteries were fabricated with the configuration of $V_2O_5/LIPON/Li$ using sequential ex-situ thin film deposition techniques. The electrochemical characteristics of $V_2O_5$ cathode materials Prepared at 80/20 of $Ar/O_2$ ratio showed high capacity and cycling behaviors by half cell test. LIPON solid electrolytes films were prepared by RF-magnetron sputtering using the self-made $Li_3PO_4$ target in pure $N_2$ atmosphere, and it was very stable for lithium contact in the range of 1.2-4.0 V vs. Li. Metallic lithium were deposited on LIPON electrolyte by thermal evaporation methode in dry room. Vanadium oxide based full cell system showed the initial discharge capacity of $150{\mu}A/cm^2{\mu}m$ in the range of $1.2\~3.5V$.
This paper investigates the dependence of a-Si:H/c-Si passivation and heterojunction solar cell performances on various cleaning processes of silicon wafers. It is observed that the passivation quality of a-Si:H thin-films on c-Si wafers depends highly on the initial H-termination properties of the wafer surface. The effective minority carrier lifetime (MCLT) of highly H-terminated wafer is beneficial for obtaining high quality passivation of a-Si:H/c-Si. The wafers passivated by p(n)-doped a-Si:H layers have low MCLT regardless of the initial H-termination quality. On the other hand, the MCLT of wafers incorporating intrinsic (i) a-Si:H as a passivation layer shows sensitive variation with initial cleaning and H-termination schemes. By applying the improved cleaning processes, we can obtain an MCLT of $100{\mu}sec$ after H-termination and above $600{\mu}sec$ after i a-Si:H thin film deposition. By adapting improved cleaning processes and by improving passivation and doped layers, we can fabricate a-Si:H/c-Si heterojunction solar cells with an active area conversion efficiency of 18.42%, which cells have an open circuit voltage of 0.670V, short circuit current of $37.31\;mA/cm^2$ and fill factor of 0.7374. These cells show more than 20% pseudo efficiency measured by Suns-$V_{oc}$ with an elimination of series resistance.
Cleft palate has been studied with epidemiologic and molecular methods, and many etiologic factors have been examined closely Among the research methods, biologic molecule research has been the most important method for cleft palate formation study The $TGF-\beta$ played an important role in cell migration, epithelial-mesenchymal transdifferentiation, extracellular matrix synthesis and deposition. But there was not much research on the correlation cleft palate induced by beta-aminonitroproprionitrile(BAPN) and $TGF-\beta$ expression. The purpose of the present study was to examine how $TGF-\beta$ is expressed in cleft palate rats. 4 Timed-pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats were obtained on the 10th gestation day. On the 13th day of gestation, BAPN-monofumarate salts (${(C_3H_6N_2)}_2{\cdot}C_4H_4O_4$) were individually, ovally administered to 3 pregnant rats at a ratio of 1g/kg body weight. And 4 pregnant rats were sacrificed on day 20 post coitus (p.c.). The $TGF-\beta$ expression in the cleft formed rats fetuses showed the following patterns : 1. Osteoblast and mesenchymal cells of the cleft pa)ate rats were of low expression compared with those of the control rats. 2. The cleft palate rats didn't show uy difference in the $TGF-\beta$ expression of osteocyte item the control rats. 3. In western blot analysis, the thickness of band of $TGF-\beta$ in the cleft palate rats was thinner and more diluted than that of the control rats.

The triboelectric property of a material is important to improve an efficiency of triboelectric generator (TEG) in energy harvesting from an ambient energy. In this study, we have studied the TEG property of a semiconducting $SnO_2$ which has yet to be explored so far. As a counter triboelectric material, PET and glass are used. Vertical contact mode is utilized to evaluate the TEG efficiency. $SnO_2$ thin film is deposited by atomic layer deposition on bare Si wafer for various thicknesses from 5.2 nm to 34.6 nm, where the TEG output is increased from 13.9V to 73.5V. Triboelectric series are determined by comparing the polarity of output voltage of 2 samples among $SnO_2$, PET, and glass. In conclusion, $SnO_2$, as an intrinsic n-type material, has the most strong tendency to be positive side to lose the electron and PET has the most strong tendency to be negative side to get the electron, and glass to be between them. Therefore, the $SnO_2$-PET combination shows the highest TEG efficiency.
Objective: This study evaluated the effects of different levels of protein concentrate supplementation on the growth performance of yak calves, and correlated the growth rate to changes occurring in the plasma- amino acids, -insulin profile, and signaling activity of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) cascade to characterize the mechanism through which the protein synthesis can be improved in early weaned yaks. Methods: For this study, 48 early (3 months old) weaned yak calves were selected, and assigned into four dietary treatments according to randomized complete block design. The four blocks were balanced for body weight and sex. The yaks were either grazed on natural pasture (control diet) in a single herd or the grazing yaks was supplemented with one of the three protein rich supplements containing low (17%; LP), medium (19%; MP), or high (21%; HP) levels of crude proteins for a period of 30 days. Results: Results showed that the average daily gain of calves increased (0.14 vs 0.23-0.26 kg; p<0.05) with protein concentrates supplementation. The concentration of plasma methionine increased (p<0.05; 8.6 vs $10.1-12.4{\mu}mol/L$), while those of serine and tyrosine did not change (p>0.05) when the grazing calves were supplemented with protein concentrates. Compared to control diet, the insulin level of calves increased (p<0.05; 1.86 vs $2.16-2.54{\mu}IU/mL$) with supplementation of protein concentrates. Addition of protein concentrates up-regulated (p<0.05) expression of mTOR-raptor, mammalian vacuolar protein sorting 34 homolog, the translational regulators eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E binding protein 1, and S6 kinase 1 genes in both Longissimus dorsi and semitendinosus. In contrast, the expression of sequestosome 1 was down-regulated in the concentrate supplemented calves. Conclusion: Our results show that protein supplementation improves the growth performance of early weaned yak calves, and that plasma methionine and insulin concentrations were the key mediator for gene expression and protein deposition in the muscles.
(La,Sr)CoO3/Pb(Zr,Ti)O3/(La,Sr)CoO3 (LSCO) heterostructures have been grown on LaAlO3 substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) to investigate asymmetric polarization of Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) thin flims with different electrode configuration. P-V hysteresis loop of LSCO/PZT/LSCO was symmetric. However, LaCoO3 (LCO_/PZT/LSCO showed a largely asymmetric P-V hystersis loop and large relaxation of the remanent polarization at the negatively poled state, which means that the negatively poled state was unstable. On the other hand, LSCO/PZT/LCO exhibited large relaxation of the positively poled state. The asymmetric behavior of the polarized states implies the presence of an interal electric firld inside the PZT layer. It is suggested that internal electric field is caused by built-in voltages at LCO/PZT and LSCO/PZT interfaces. The built-in voltages at LCO/PZT and CSCO/PZT interfaces were 0.6 V and -0.12 V, respectively.
We investigated flux, grain size distribution, Nd-Sr isotope composition, mineral composition, and trace metal composition (REEs and Sc) of inorganic silicate fraction (ISF, mainly Asian dust with an unrestricted amount of volcanic materials) deposited during 600~1000 ka across the Mid-Pleistocene Transition at core NPGP 1401-2A (32°01'N, 178°59'E, 5205m) taken from the central part of the North Pacific. Our results reveal about a 2-fold increase in ISF flux after 800 ka, which is associated with an increase in La/Sc and a decrease in mean grain size. Asian dusts are finer than volcanic materials and La/Sc increases with the enhanced contribution of Asian dusts. Thus, increased flux after 800 ka can be explained by the increased contribution of Asian dusts relative to volcanic materials, likely due to an intensified Westerly Jet (WJ) and the drying of the Asian continent after the MPT. Mean grain size of ISF varies systematically in relation to glacial-interglacial cycles with a decrease during glacial stages, which is consistent with the previous results in the study area. Such a cyclical pattern is also attributed to the increase in the relative contribution of Asian dusts over volcanic components in glacial stages due to intensified WJ and drying of the Asian continent. Thus, it can be concluded that climate changes that had occurred across the MPT were similar to those of interglacial to glacial transitions at least in terms of the dust budget. Different from the Shatsky Rise, however, compositional changes associated with glacial-interglacial mean grain size fluctuations are not observed in Nd-Sr isotope ratios and trace element composition in our study of the Hess Rise. This may be attributed to the location of the study site far (> 4,000 km) from the volcanic sources. The volcanic component at the study site comprises less than 10% and varies within 3% over glacial-interglacial cycles. Such a small variation was not enough to imprint geochemical signals.

Chemical and isotopic compositions of hydrocarbon gases were analyBed to characterize the properties of the shallow gases distributed in the southeastern part of the Ulleung Basin, offshore Korea. Sediments from the core were also analyzed to determine the characteristics and relationship to shallow gases. Hydrocarbon gases in the sediments consisted of methane (697.9-6054.4 ppm), ethane, propane, butane and hexane. The total carbon content of the sediments ranges from 1.84fe to $5.11{\%}$ and the total organic carbon content ranges from $0.29{\%} \;to\; 2.65{\%}$. High C/N ratio (>10) indicates that input of terrestrial organic matter was prevalent at the time of deposition. The methane content and stable isotopic data indicate that hydrocarbon gases from the sediments are identified to be thermogenic gas and mixture of both biogenic and thermal gases. Based on the Rock-Eval and carbon isotopic data, the level of thermal maturity of organic matter in the sediments $(Tmax<425^{\circ}C)$ is lower than that of gas. It suggests that thermal gases in the sediments migrated from the deeper sediments than the penetrated depth.
