Odontogenic myxoma of the jaws is a rare benign odontogenic tumor. In this case, a 61-year-old male patient had a chief complaint about maxillary anterior gingival mass and excisional biopsy result confirmed odontogenic myxoma. The clear acrylic resin custom tray was designed to minimize displacement of flabby tissue which remained after the surgery. Neutral zone and external impression technique could provide satisfactory result in terms of denture stability and retention during jaw relation record and wax denture try-in procedure. This clinical report describes fabrication of complete dentures for a patient with odontogenic myxoma in regard to flabby tissue and neutral zone.
Eighteen patients (13 female and ave male) aged from 15 to 62 years (mean age 42.6 years) underwent excision of cardiac myxoma(17 left atrial, one right atrial) between 1985 and 1994 at Pusan National University hospital. All patients complained of exertional dyspnea and most had a few additional symtoms including palpitation, chest pain, syncope, general weakness, weight loss, fever, cough and epigastric disconyort. The diagnosis was made by echocardiography alone in left atrial myxomas but a myxoma in right atrium was diagnosed incidentally during mitral valve replacement for rheumatic valvular heart disease. The tumor attachment sites were fossa ovalis in 13, other interatrial septum in 4, mitral valve annulus in one and free wall of left atrium in two cases. The tumor was excised successfully via right atriotomy in 8 and biatriotomy in 10 cases. There was no hospital nor late death, and no recurrent case during the follow up period. Curative surgical excision of cardiac myxoma can be performed with low morbidity and very low r currence rate.
Left atrial myxoma is a rare disease and its recurrence is reported to be always possible whenever primary excision is incomplete. Cardiac Myxoma is rare disease of the heart, and it has a little chance of recurrence. We experienced a patient of recurrent left atrial myxoma who was 31 years old, had been gotten excision of Lt. atrial myxoma when she was 28 years of her age. She was gotten mitral valve replacement simultaneously during 2nd operation with difficulty. So we report this case with the review of the literatures. [KTCS 1981;3:260-267]Surgical Treatment of Acute Pyogenic Pericarditis followed the Sepsis Ki Woo Shin, M.D.,* Ho Wan Lee, M.D.* and Dong Jun Lee, M.D.* Two cases of acute pyogenic pericarditis are, one case, 12-year-old male patient, followed the bacteremia of pneumonia and other case, 9 year old female patient, followed the bacteremia of osteomyelitis. After the confirmed diagnosis by pericardial aspiration, the emergency pericardial window was made to relief the severe cardiogenic symptoms. The general symptoms were improved immediately, but 40 days and 15 days after pericardiostomy, in each case, the sign and symptoms of cardiac compression were seen with recurrent cardiac tamponade. Pericardiectomy with median sternotomy was performed in each case and thereafter the patients were discharged without any problems.
Once it is diagnosed, immediate surgical extirpation is desirable for treating left ventricle myxoma that's accompanied with stenosis of the left ventricle outflow tract. This is because this condition may potentially induce fatal complications such as cerebral infarction or myocardial infarction that's triggered by myxoma embolus, or even sudden death due to coronary malperfusion. An 18-year-old male with the chief complaint of NYHA class II exertional dyspnea was found to have a $4{\times}3\;cm^2$ sized mass on transthoracic ultrasonography, which was shown to move down the left ventricle outflow tract on the systolic phase. The mass was immediately extirpated by incision of the left ventricle; the mass was finally diagnosed as a myxoma. The patient was discharged on at the 10th day postoperatively without any complications. On the 22-month follow-up observation made at the out-patient clinic after discharge, there have been no noticeable, significant changes seen on physical examination or the cardiac ultrasonography.
Odontogenic myxoma, a rare tumour that occurs in the jaws, locally invasive, destructive tumors that do not metastasize to lymph nodes. Large odontogenic myxoma on mandible is treated by mandibulectomy, defected mandible is reconstructed by bone graft. Reconstructed mandible is difficult to reconstruct dentition using implant because of deficiency of bone amount. So it is necessary to additional bone graft. But a poor aspect of soft tissue lead to unsatisfactory result. Because of distraction osteogenesis is possible to reconstruction of an amount of bone and soft tissue, that is advantage to reconstruction of alveolar bone on reconstructed mandible. We report with review of literatures the 25 years old male patient who had odontogenic myxoma in left mandible, was undergone mandibulectomy and successfully implant installation and prosthetic restoration after distraction osteogenesis(Track $Plus^{(R)}$, KLS Martin, Germany) on the reconstructed mandible with a free iliac bone graft, and we have conservative and successful result.

Background: The standard approach in treating cardiac myxoma is the median full sternotomy. With the evolution of surgical techniques, the right minithoracotomy approach has emerged as an alternative method. Since few studies have been published assessing the right minithoracotomy approach, we performed a retrospective study to compare the clinical outcomes of the right minithoracotomy approach with those of the sternotomy approach. Methods: From January 2005 to December 2014, 203 patients underwent resection of a cardiac myxoma. Patients with preexisting cardiac problems were excluded from this study. 146 patients were enrolled in this study; 83 patients were treated using a median sternotomy and 63 patients were treated using a right minithoracotomy. Results: No early mortalities were recorded in either group. Although the cardiopulmonary bypass time and aorta cross-clamp time were significantly shorter in the sternotomy group (p<0.001 and p=0.005), postoperative blood transfusions and arrhythmia events were significantly less common in the thoracotomy group (p=0.004 and p=0.025, respectively). No significant differences were found in the duration of the hospital stay, postoperative intubation time, the duration of the intensive care unit stay, and recurrence. Conclusion: The minimally invasive right minithoracotomy approach is a good alternative method for treating cardiac myxoma because it was found to be associated with a lower incidence of postoperative complications and a shorter postoperative recovery period.
Myxoma is a benign growth constituting nearly 50% of all primary cardiac tumors. It is important because it can be abolished by surgical therapy and is usually fatal if unrecognized and untreated. Recently a wider use of echocardiogram as the screening test of valve lesions can be expected to increase the number of myxomas found preoperatively. We report a case of left atrial myxoma which was diagnosed by echocardiogram before surgery, and was successfully removed with the aid of extracorporeal circulation. The patient was a 24-year old woman who had suffered from mitral valvular symptoms for 2 months before admission. At operation, a tumor, measuring 5.2 x 4.3 x 4.7 cm, was extremely friable, villous gelatinous mass and it was removed from its origin near the closed fossa ovalis, including its stalk and a portion of the septum. The postoperative course was uneventful. The patient is clinically well and without symptoms of heart disease.
Biatrial myxomas are extremely rare, and only two cases have been reported in Korea so far. We report a 60-year-old male patient with decreased mentality due to embolization from myxoma. In this case, two pedicles grew into both atrial chamber separately from the different origins at the atrial septum. The patient underwent emergency operation immediately after the diagnosis by an echocardiography.

Myxomas are rare benign tumors that originate from mesenchymal tissue. They usually develop in the atrium of the heart, the skin, subcutaneous tissue, or bone. Involvement of the skull base with an intracranial extension is very rare and not well-described in the literature. We report a rare case of primary intracranial ossifying myxoma arising from the anterior skull base and mimicking a huge chondrosarcoma, and we review the relevant literature.
Between 1977 and 1987, 8 patients underwent excision of cardiac myxomas at the Hanyang University Hospital. All had a left atrial myxoma. There were 4 female and 4 male patients ranging from 15 to 62 years of age. Preoperative findings consist of symptoms and signs of congestive heart failure except one. Diagnosis was confirmed by echocardiography[8 cases] and angiography[2 cases], preoperatively. A biatrial operative approach was utilized in all but 2, who were small sized. Complete excision of the tumor with a cuff of normal tissue[1 was atrial wall and 7 were atrial septum] was performed. all heart chambers were carefully explored for presence of multicentric myxomas or tumor debris. There were no operative deaths or intraoperative embolization. Follow-up has been 1/3 to 10 years. There has been 1 late death, due to recurrence and 1 patient had reoperation for mitral regurgitation due to dilatation of the annulus by a huge tumor mass. Surgical excision of the myxoma can be performed with low morbidity, and it provides excellent and sustained symptomatic relief. The recurrence rate is low, but long-term follow-up and serial echocardiography are advisable.
