  • The accurate identification of the motor parameters is crucially important to achieve high dynamic performance of induction motors. In this paper, the motor parameters such as rotor resistance, stator(rotor) leakage inductance, mutual inductance are measured for torque monitoring and indirect vector control. To demonstrate the practical significance of the results, some experimental results are presented.

Winding Function 이론을 이용한 동기형 릴럭턴스 전동기의 토크 특성 해석 (Torque Characteristics Analysis of Synchronous Reluctance Motor by Winding Function Theory)

  • In this paper, torque characteristics analysis of Synchronous Reluctance Motor with the cylindrical rotor type by winding function theory(WFT) is described. The stator is same as one of the induction motor. From the d-axis, q-axis flux density distribution, to calculate self and mutual inductances needed to calculate the torque of the machine by using winding function theory the new equivalent geometry of rotor was proposed. D-axis, q-axis flux densities, self inductance and torque characteristics were obtained. From the comparison with results of finite element analysis the proposed method was verified.

새로운 하이브리드 극 구조의 베어링리스 SRM 설계 및 운전특성 (A Design and Driving Characteristics of Novel Hybrid Pole Bearingless SRM)

  • Bearingless SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) is researched for high speed or special applications which can not use mechanical bearing such as bio pump. In this paper, a novel hybrid pole bearingless SRM is presented. The proposed hybrid pole bearingless SRM has salient poles for torque and suspending force production. Motor torque is controlled by the phase currents in torque pole windings, and the suspending force is controlled by suspending currents in four suspending windings for radial direction suspension. Because the proposed bearingless SRM has divided pole structure, mutual effects between torque current and suspending current are very lower than the conventional one's. From this structure, the number of power devices for power converter can be reduced for bearingless SRM driving. The proposed hybrid pole bearing less SRM is verified by the FEM analysis and experimental results.

  • This paper analyzes fault tolerance under a stator turn fault, according to the winding configuration. Improvement of torque characteristics and fault tolerance can be achieved by winding configuration without additional methods. And, torque characteristics and fault tolerance according to the winding configuration can be usually analyzed by analytical method. But, when the stator turn fault generates, compare to the steady-state, analysis of torque characteristics and fault tolerance using the analytical method is not accurate because it does not reflect influence in mutual inductance and magnetic non-linearity. Therefore, analysis of torque characteristics and fault tolerance has to be performed by using the numerical method under fault condition. This paper develops fault characteristics according to the winding configuration using the FEM-base model considered magnetic non-linearity. And, this paper suggests fault tolerance improvement according to the winding configuration, by the comparison of 8/12 and 10/12 models, under fault condition.

  • 본 논문에서는 SRM의 2상 여자방식의 동작특성을 제시하였다. 제안한 방식은 스텝전동기의 2상 여자방식과 유사하게 동시에 2상을 여자하여 자기인덕턴스뿐만 아니라 상호인덕턴스에 의해서도 토오크를 발생시킨다. 상여자의 갑자스런 변화는 기계적인 변위를 만들고 이는 소음과 진동을 유발한다. 2상 여자방식에 의한 연속적인 상여자에 의해 갑작스런 상여자의 변화를 줄여 소음을 줄일 수 있었다. 기존의 여자방식과 동작원리와 특성을 비교함으로써 새로운 제어방식의 타당성을 입증하였다.

SRM의 최대 토크 운전을 위한 자기동조 제어 (Maximum Torque Operation of SRM by using a Self-tuning Control Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 SRM의 최대 토크 운전을 위한 자기동조 제어방법을 연구하였다. SRM은 비선형적인 특성이 강하여 해석적인 방법으로 특성을 고찰하거나 속도 및 토크 제어가 어려운 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 최대 토크 운전을 위한 적절한 턴-온/오프각 제어를 자기동조방식(self-tuning method)에 의해 결정하는 방식을 제안하였다. 그리고 턴-온/오프각을 제어하기 위해 귀환되는 신호는 각각 엔코더 펄스수와 상전류의 증분값을 사용하였으며, 운전 중에 스스로 적절한 턴-오프각을 먼저 추종하고 다음으로 턴-온각을 추종하게 된다. 턴-온/오프각은 서로 종속적인 관계에 있으므로 최대 토크 값을 유지하기 위한 턴-온/오프각을 실시간 자기동조방식으로 제어하였으며, 실험을 통해 제안된 방식이 타당함을 확인하였다.

  • One of the frequent problems in the stabilized gimbal system is the rejection of disturbances associated with moving components. Very often such disturbances have non-linear characteristics. In a typical gimbal system, each gimbal and platform are connected by a mutual bearing which induces inevitable friction. Particularly, the non-linear Coulomb friction causes position errors as well as slow responses that lead to unfavorable performance. In this paper, a modified PID controller that is augmented by Coulomb friction estimator is presented. Through constantly estimating the Coulomb friction torque, it is applied to the output of the existing PID controller. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is evaluated through a series of experiments.

가설 트롤리선의 위치 / 장력 혼합제어 (Hybrid Control of Position/Tension for a Stringing Troy Wire)

  • As a stringing troy wire is installed by manual operation, it is necessary to scheme the automatic system for stringing troy wire. To accomplish a task of this kind, in this paper an approach to designing controllers for the hybrid Position/Tension control of a stringing troy wire is presented. Position control system is designed based on equation of dc motor and motion equation of robot, it is controlled by feedback with a detected speed dc motor. Tension control system is designed based on equation of ac servomotor for generating torque and dynamic equation of a troy wire, it is controled by feedback with a detected tension. The control parameters is determined by simulation in independence operation of each system. To suppress a mutual interference that the disturbance occur in operating of two task at same time. Dynamic hybrid control is proposed by feed forward compensator with a disturbance accelerator and a step torque at start. The operation of proposed system is simulated and experimented, results is verified the utilities.

Test Result Analysis of a 1MW HTS Motor for Industry Application

  • A 1 MW class HTS (High-Temperature Superconducting) synchronous motor has been developed. This motor is aimed to be utilized for industrial application such as large motors operating in large plants. The HTS field coil of the developed motor is cooled by way of neon thermo siphonmechanism and the stator (armature) coil is cooled by water through hollow copper conductor. This paper also describes evaluation of some electrical parameters from performance test results of our motor, which was conducted at steady state in generator mode and motor mode. Open and short circuit tests were conducted in generator mode while a 1.1 MW rated induction machine was rotating the HTS machine. Electrical parameters such as mutual inductance and synchronous inductance are deduced from these tests. Load test was done upto rating torque during motor mode and efficiency was measured at each load torque.

충전기 겸용 스위치드 릴럭턴스 전동기의 제로토크제어 (Zero Torque Control of Switched Reluctance Motor for Integral Charging)

  • In this paper, a zero torque control scheme adopting current sharing function (CSF) used in integrated Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drive with DC battery charger is proposed. The proposed control scheme is able to achieve the keeping position (KP), zero torque (ZT) and power factor correction (PFC) at the same time with a simple novel current sharing function algorithm. The proposed CSF makes the proper reference for each phase windings of SRM to satisfy the total charging current of the battery with zero torque output to hold still position with power factor correction, and the copper loss minimization during of battery charging is also achieved during this process. Based on these, CSFs can be used without any recalculation of the optimal current at every sampling time. In this proposed integrated battery charger system, the cost effective, volume and weight reduction and power enlargement is realized by function multiplexing of the motor winding and asymmetric SR converter. By using the phase winding as large inductors for charging process, and taking the asymmetric SR converter as an interleaved converter with boost mode operation, the EV can be charged effectively and successfully with minimum integral system. In this integral system, there is a position sliding mode controller used to overcome any uncertainty such as mutual inductance or DC offset current sensor. Power factor correction and voltage adaption are obtained with three-phase buck type converter (or current source rectifier) that is cascaded with conventional SRM, one for wide input and output voltage range. The practicability is validated by the simulation and experimental results by using a laboratory 3-hp SRM setup based on TI TMS320F28335 platform.
