Design and Implementation of Mutiple Slotted Dual-Band Square Patch Antenna with Circular Polarization (다수의 슬롯을 이용한 이중대역 원형편파 사각 패치 안테나 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose a multiple slotted dual-band square patch antenna with CP(Circular Polarization) characteristic. And we present the simulation and measurement results of the design example. We designed a slotted patch antenna by using computer simulation program, Zeland IE3D, and then some tuning followed with measurements. Measured -10dB bandwidths of $S_{11}$ characteristic are 127MHz($2.346GHz{\sim}2.473GHz$) for the low-band, and 122MHz($3.379GHz{\sim}3.501GHz$) for the high-band, respectively. And measured maximum gains and half-power beamwidths are 6.94dBi, $72.95^{\circ}$ for the low-band at 2.30GHz, 5.78dBi, $76.51^{\circ}$ for the high-band at 3.45GHz, respectively.

The Design of U-Slot Stack Structure Antenna for 800MHz Band Coastal Sea Base Station Applications (800MHz 대역 연안해역기지국용 U-Slot 적층구조 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, we will design a 800MHz broadband antenna after a problem of the narrow bandwidth is improved. This multiple band antenna unifies the CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access), GSM(Global System for Mobile Telecommunication) and TRS(Trunked Radio System) band in the UHF band, and then it is possible at the shore base station or repeater as the commercial use. It used the duplex resonance effect it had the L-shared feeding structure which adds the U-slot. And it improved profit using stack structure. It was measured that the frequency bandwidth of the designed antenna which is planed $792{\sim}1040MHz$ with 248MHz(33%). And the antenna gain is 9.4dBi, 3dB beam width $60^{\circ}$ in radiation pattern.

Application of Mutiple Geophysical Methods in Investigating the Lava Tunnel of Manjanggul in Cheju Island (제주도 만장굴에 대한 복합 지구물리탐사 기법의 적용)

  • Various geophysical methods have been applied to the survey of the lava tunnel of Manjanggul in Cheju Island to study the effectiveness of each method in investigating underground tunnels. The surveys employing gravity, magnetic, electrical, AMT and VLF methods were carried out along seven profiles across the Manjanggul; especially, all the five methods were used on one representative profile. Several aspects of different methods pertinent to their use in investigation of underground tunnels have been noted. The electrical method employing the dipole-dipole array appeared to be the most effective one among five methods. Therefore, we have tested the electrical method more carefully by using various electrode spacings, and obtained successful resistivity sections showing the existence of lava tunnels. The gravity method provided relatively successful responses associated with the tunnel although the gravity readings were contaminated by wind blowing during the survey. The gravity data were also useful for the quantitative modeling study. The magnetic data were also successful in delineating the tunnel qualitatively. The AMT data were not successful because the used frequency band was not appropriate in detecting very shallow target. The VLF data were severely influenced by the neighboring noise sources such as power lines and were not successful in detecting the tunnel responses. The comprehensive result of electrical, gravity and magnetic surveys suggests that undiscovered lava tunnels may exist adjacent to the Manjanggul.

  • Bacterial wihte enteritis ocurred by infection of V. ichthyoenteri is a devastating disease in olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) hatcheries in Korea. Since white enteritis has been a problem in aquqtic industries, necessity of a rapid detection method is increased. In an attempt to develop rapid PCR method the detection of V. ichthyoenteri, we examined the 16S-23S rRNA intergenic spacer region(ISR) of V. ichthyoenteri and developed species-specific primer for V. ichthyoenteri. The intergenic spacers were amplified by primers complementary to conserved region of 16S and 23S rRNA genes. The intergenic spacer region between the 16S and 23S rRNA genes of V. ichthoenteri were investigated by PCR fragment length typing and DNA sequencing. Analysis of the ISR sequences showed that V. ichthyoenteri contains one types of polymorphic ISRs. The size of ISRs ranged 348bp length and not contains tRNA genes. Mutiple alignment of representative sequences from different Vibrio species revealed several domains of high sequence variability, and allowed to design species-specific primer for detection of Vibrio ichthyoenteri. PCR. The specific of the primer was examined using genomic DNA prepared from 19 different Vibrio species, isolated 18group Vibrio species. The results showed that the PCR reaction using species-specific primer designed in this study can be used to detect V. ichthyoenteri.
