The purpose of this study is to offer a holistic description of the role demanded of costume designers to provide qualitative improvement of costume designs for small- and medium-sized musicals. The study accomplishes this by analyzing the relationship between the play and costume design in musicals and also by examining the process and environments in which costumes of small-sized theater companies' original musicals are produced. The methods of study are empirical research of literature related to dress, stage art, and culture & arts from both domestic and foreign publications; research of visual materials related to plays; and production and analysis of theatrical performances in which the researcher has participated as a costume designer. The results of the study are as follows. First, professionalism of the play and visual perfection of the work may be enhanced by costume designers actively participating in meetings with staff from each field of the play. Second, by taking advantage of the unique aspects of the work environment of small-sized theater companies' small- and medium-sized original musicals, such as harsh situations of regular and periodical meetings with all staff member, the designer may consider the director's intentions and concepts of the play, but should display more creative and autonomous design abilities. Third, because the costume designers of small- and medium-sized original musical plays are given a small budget and short production periods, the ability to systematically manage budget and production periods and the ability to flexibly handle unexpected incidents during the play is essential.

The purpose of the study was to examine early childhood teachers' content knowledge of movement education. The subjects, 60 early childhood teachers, were asked to draw concept maps about early childhood movement education. Their concept maps were analyzed in terms of superordinate and subordinate concepts by contents and frequency. The results were as follows. First, 263 superordinate concepts were shown, and they were categorized into 10 representative terms (body movement/health, music, expression, movement type, movement element, games, integration/arts, social studies, tool/instrument, and math/science). Second, 2,186 subordinate concepts were shown, and running, movement, jumping, musical instrument, and expression were frequently shown. In conclusion, early childhood teachers' content knowledge of movement education were various but insufficient in aspect of its systematic organization.

본 연구는 음악과의 공감경험을 Kohut의 자기대상 개념을 중심으로 탐구한 질적 연구이다. 개인이 경험한 음악과의 공감을 탐색하고, 그 체험적 의미를 반영적 자기대상 욕구, 이상적 자기대상 욕구, 동반적 자기대상 욕구와 관련하여 살펴보았다. 음악공감에 대한 심층 자료를 수집하기 위해 의도적 표집을 통해 총 13명의 음악치료 석사과정 이상의 대학원생을 참여자로 선정하였다. 음악과의 공감경험에 대해 인터뷰를 진행한 후, 인터뷰 내용을 녹음, 전사하여 내용 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 3개 차원(반영적 자기대상 욕구 충족 차원, 이상적 자기대상 욕구 충족 차원, 동반적 자기대상 욕구 충족 차원)에서 총 16개 의미내용과 7개의 범주가 도출되었다. 참여자들은 첫째, 음악으로부터 무조건적인 이해와 수용, 음악을 통한 가치감 증진을 경험하고 있었고, 둘째, 음악 안에서 강해짐과 안전감을 경험하고 있었으며, 셋째, 음악과의 동질감 및 연결감을 경험하고 있었다. 이 같은 연구 결과는 참여자들이 음악경험을 통해 자기 자신을 확장시키고 스스로에게 공감적으로 반응함으로써 자기대상 욕구를 지속적으로 충족하고 있음을 시사한다. 음악공감경험을 자기대상 관점에서 질적으로 확인한 첫 번째 연구라는 점에서 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

음악적 경험 중에서 감상활동은 다른 음악 활동에 선행되는 가장 기본적인 과정임에도 불구하고 교사의 인식 부족과 교수 방법의 어려움 때문에 소홀히 여겨지고 있다. 본 연구는 유아의 생각을 반영하여 통합적 음악 감상을 구성하고 유아들이 음악 감상에 흥미를 갖게 하며, 유아 스스로 음악적 개념이나 구조를 발견, 창작할 수 있도록 하였고, 연계활동으로 유아 자신의 생각과 느낌을 동시로 표현하였다. 만 3, 4세의 발달 특성상 개인별 동시 짓기의 어려움이 있어서 자신의 의견을 나누며, 또래들의 반응을 직접 관찰할 수 있는 소그룹 토의를 통한 동시 짓기로 접근 하였다. 현장에서 음악 감상과 동시 짓기 활동을 어려워하는 교사들에게 교수 방법을 제시하고, 그 효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 유아의 생각을 반영한 통합적 음악 감상을 통한 소그룹 동시 짓기를 한 결과 유아들은 초기에는 음악 감상을 위한 준비과정에 더 많은 비중을 두었으나, 프로그램을 진행하면서 음악적 개념을 발견하고, 음악 감상에 적극적이었다. 연계활동으로 동시를 지을 때 또래의 이야기를 들으며 창의적인 생각을 할 수 있는 자극이 되었고, 동시에 관심이 없었던 유아들도 참여도가 높아졌으며, 교사도 유아의 창의적인 단어에 흥미를 보였고, 유아들과 함께 창작의 기쁨을 느꼈다.

This study measured and analyzed musical sense objectively, and visualized it to express visual effects as if watching music with the eye. For the visualization of music, we examined the concept of synesthesia and the correlation between hearing and seeing, and reviewed theoretical grounds and a number of cases necessary in reproducing musical sense visually based on synesthetic expression. Furthermore, we studied the visual elements and associated colors of rhythm to prove that visual conception of music through various approaches enable a transitional approach to aesthetic exploration and interpretation. The conclusions drawn from this research are as follows. First, classic music selected for visualization had musical characteristics highly correlated with dress design. Second, basic formative elements suggested as materials of visualization in this study were suitable in their form for expressing the rhythmic sense of music and, because they started from the most basic form, they were effective in extracting design elements. Third, when the result of the questionnaire survey, which was focused on the visualization of the rhythmic sense of the five pieces of classic music, was analyzed from the aspect of sensibility ergonomics, design elements of each piece of music were obtained in an objective and scientific way. Fourth, it was confirmed that common concepts could be derived from intangible elements such as forms and sounds observed in the rhythmic sense of music obtained from the result of the questionnaire survey. Fifth, works were made based on the results of this study and, according to the result, musical images can express sense through dress design and obtain visual effects as if watching music with the eye. Dress desist through the visualization of music in this study was an attempt to suggest that the language of music can be expressed in dress design, a visual formative language, based on synesthetic expression. Through this attempt, we confirmed the infinity of music as motives of dress design and suggested a method of aesthetic expression demanded in contemporary society that is pursuing aesthetic values.

Mathematical creativity, an important goal in mathematics education, can be promoted through an integrated learning environment where students explore mathematics with other subject areas such as science, technology, engineering and art. Establishing such learning environments is not a trivial task. Therefore, this creates a need for the development of instructional resources promoting meaningful integration. This paper focuses on integration of the fields of mathematics and music. Beginning with some of the historical discoveries and views of the connections between mathematics and music, this paper attends to several musical concepts correlating to middle school mathematical content and then provides ideas for teaching.

This study aims at finding out the characteristics and influences of Libeskind's early drawing works through comparisons of each drawing. The importance of his experimental drawing works is not only their uniqueness but also relationship to creation and development of his architecture. Libeskind's musical and educational background had great impacts on forming his early drawings. A series of drawings including 'Micromegas', 'Chamberworks', and 'Theatrum Mundi' shows variety and experiments about reconstruction of three dimensional architectural fragments, abstractive line drawing and plane oriented painting. Libeskind himself cease to experiment drawing techniques but their characteristics still remain in his sketches, diagram and conceptual drawings. In spite of influences of undergraduate design studios, theoretical background of graduate studies, their experimental features are due to his continuous endeavor to make and develop his drawing skills and contents. As a result, his early drawings act as media and way to communicate and develop his concepts.

As a sport with artistic characteristics, figure skating draws upon important elements such as costumes, music, melody interpretation, and choreography. The combination of figure skating music and costume is an important influence on scoring, moreover, it forms some images and characteristics of the athlete. The purpose of this study is to consider and analyze the correlation between figure skating music and costumes. The study mostly focuses on the main international competitions from 2008 to 2010, such as the Winter World Figure Skating Championships, Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and gala shows of a single female and male and female pairs, ice dances of the medalists. The concepts and characteristics of figure skating music were examined collected the literature quotes internet sites, photos and video, clips through the homepage and internet sites. Focusing on the medalists of the main international competitions from 2008 to 2010, following the analysis results of figure skating by genre of music, the differences among classical music, pop music, movie music, musical music, folk music have been classified, and according to the features of music genres, the differences of items, colors, details and accessories of clothing were brought out. Depending on the features of music genres, figure skating costumes have been changed of items, colors, materials, details and accessories. Thus, the close correlation between the story of figure skating music and atmosphere has been analyzed. This study contributes to improve the completion of programs which is completed through the development of figure skating costumes design that is regarded specially for the artistic value.

본 논문에서는 사용자의 음악적 선호를 모델링하고, 사용자가 원하는 감정과 선호를 추론할 수 있게 도와주는 컨텍스트 기반 음악 추천 온톨로지 (COMUS)를 제안한다. COMUS는 제목, 연주자, 장르와 같은 음악의 일반적인 속성과 무드와 상황과 같이 도메인에 특화된 확장을 제공하는 확장성을 계층적인 방식으로 제공한다. COMUS는 음악 추천을 위한 도메인에 특화된 클래스들이 음악 온톨로지와 연동되도록 OWL 언어를 사용하여 개발된 음악 온톨로지이다. COMUS에 표현된 컨텍스트 정보를 사용하면, 컨텍스트 정보의 일관성을 체크할 수 있고, 규칙 기반의 추론을 통해 명시적인 정보 뿐만 아니라, 내재된 컨텍스트를 도출하는 상위 레벨의 추론이 가능하다고. 여기서 제안하는 온톨로지는 음악과 감정과 상황 사이의 복잡하고 자세한 관계를 표현할 수 있어서, 사용자가 음악 추론 어플리케이션을 위해 적절한 음악을 찾을 수 있게 해준다. 이와 관련된 음악 추천을 위한 사례 연구로써 수행한 몇 가지 실험을 보인다.

영국에서는 현재 음악치료가 자폐아 치료의 주요 수단으로 자리잡고 있고, 그 치료의 효과 또한 의학계와 교육계에서 널리 인정받고 있다. 이 글은 영국 음악치료의 주 동향이라 할 수 있는 즉흥연주를 바탕으로한 정신역동적 음악치료법(Psychodynamically Informed Improvisational Music Therapy)이 자폐증에 효과적 치료법임을 두 개의 사례연구를 통해 소개하고자 한다. 두 개의 사례연구는 매순간 개개인에 알맞게 응용되는 즉흥연주를 바탕으로한 음악치료의 과정이 어떻게 자폐아와 치료자간의 치료 관계를 형성시키고 발전시키는가를 보여준다. 첫번째 사례 Charlie를 통해서는 음악이 비언어적, 언어적 의사 소통과 초기 놀이발달 과정에 미치는 영향을 살펴보겠다. 두번째 사례에서는, 음악치료라는 환경이 어떻게 Mark에게 안전한 자기표현과 의사 소통의 장을 열어 주고, 자신과 다른 사람들에 대한 인식의 발달에까지 영향을 미치는가를 보겠다. 음악치료의 임상 과정에 대한 이해를 돕기 위하여 위의 사례는 발달적, 음악역동적, 정신역동적인 시점에서 고찰되어진다.
