This study examines how Latinidad can be reclaimed as a site for exploring affinities of Latinos in Latin music industry, especially from the 90s. By looking at sites where Latinidad is constituted, such as the case of Jennifer $L{\acute{o}}pez$ becoming Selena, it intends to suggest that the concept can be deployed as a political bridge to connect latinos. And by examining Cuban-American artists' self identification in Latin Grammy Awards, it reveals that the latin music business definitions of Latinidad is coded differently for them as 'Caribbean' to erase a natural resonance of Cuba. In addition, by dealing with Shakira's somewhat contradictory representation of Colombianidad, the study argues that Latinidad serves as a social construct and newly emerges as a convenient interstitial place between the Latin American and the US Latino. Shakira's case serves to show how the transnational trends of latin music contribute to create a simultaneous sense of Latinidad and Colombianidad. Focusing on the commercial significance of understanding of what latino is or should be, this paper aims to interrogate current understandings of Latinidad in the realm of latin music and popular culture.

Objective: The reason why it is important to look at the benefits of exercise-music experience perceived by the elderly is that the satisfaction of life in old age is a meaningful reflection of the subjective perception of the life of the elderly. This is because it must be understood as the center. Design: A qualitative study. Methods: Participants are senior citizens attending senior citizens' college located in Eumseong city. Those who have taken an exercise-music song program for at least one semester served as the participants. Individual interviews were conducted by selecting 10 people through purposeful sampling. The collected data were analyzed by applying Colaizzi's method among phenomenological methods. The exercise-music program was conducted for 12 weeks, for a total of 50 minutes for each time (10 minutes for introduction, 35 minutes for music, 5 minutes for finishing). Results: As a result of the study, the experience of the exercise-music program was derived into 6 categories and 13 subjects. These 6 main categories are 'Changes from the developmental crisis', 'Freedom from the confines of others', 'Positive emotions found through songs', 'Feeling of peer and fellowship relationships', 'Changes in self-awareness', It appeared as a 'Change in the way of life'. Conclusions: In conclusion, the experience of the exercise-music program brought about a positive changes in life of doing one's best by improving confidence and confirming presence. Therefore, this study suggests activation of senior college programs to find a sense of presence for each level by using exercise-music programs with good accessibility.

21세기를 주도할 자율적이고 창의적인 한국인 육성은 개정된 교육과정에서 강조하는 기본방향이다. 중등음악교육에서는 학습자의 시각과 청각을 함께 자극하고 창의적으로 활용할 수 있는 컴퓨터 음악프로그램이 교수 학습에 효과적인 매체라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 음악프로그램의 기능을 살펴보고, 그것을 음악수업에서 창의적인 학습활동으로 연계할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 또한 음악활동 영역별로 그 적용방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 사보프로그램인 Finale 2010과 이미지 및 동영상 편집도구로 Window MovieMaker, 그리고 소리편집의 Goldwave를 사용을 중심으로 학생들의 창의적인 학습활동 방안을 제시하였다.

이성중심의 서향철학사 속에서 '감각'은 '이성'의 하위개념으로 폄하되어왔다. 그러나 21세기 현대의 시각 환경은 '이성' 중심의 인식론을 밀어내고, 그 자리에 '감성' '감각'으로 재구성되고 있다. 특히 대중영상물들은 이러한 변화를 가장 빠르게 반영하고 또 선도하는 분야라 할 수 있다. 그러나 불행하게도 대중영상물들에서 '감각'에 대한 예술적, 미학적 의미를 고민한 흔적을 찾아내기는 쉽지 않다. 이는 오랜 역사를 거쳐 '감각'을 '이성'의 하위개념으로 인식하여 '감각'은 표피적인 것, 진짜가 아닌 것으로만 치부되어 온 탓 때문일 것이다. 때문에 '감각'의 새로운 가치를 부여한 현대 철학가 질 들뢰즈의 감각론을 검토해 보고, 그 개념을 영상화하고 있는 크리스 커닝햄(Chris Cunningham)의 작품세계를 분석하는 것은 유의미한 일이다. 그가 제작한 에이펙스 트윈(Aphex Twin)의 뮤직비디오 3편을 분석한 결과 질 들뢰즈가 <감각의 논리>에서 제시하는 '기관 없는 신체' '히스테리' '디아그람'을 기반하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 크리스 커닝햄을 포함해 최근에 발표된 '감각'을 주제로 한 영상작품들을 제작방법이나, 화면구성 등 표피적인 방법으로 분석하는 것은 작가의 예술 철학을 간과하는 오류를 범하게 된다. 새롭게 전개되고 있는 현대 감각론을 이해하고 그 실체에 대한 탐구와 영상작품들의 분석은 새로운 대안을 제시하는 밑거름이 될 것이다.

Jazz derived from the blacks' work songs and made the frame of Jazz reaching blues and finally arrived at the recent time propagating itself as not only the blacks' music but all human being's music. This study has a purpose to suggest the Jazz image to the fashion design by examining the historical trace of Jazz which is one of popular music received by hearing sense. As for the result of the Jazz's effects by age, rhythmical beauty stressing dresses were in fashion by dance enjoying women in 1920's and dresses giving a mature atmosphere set the fashion in 1930's. in the beginning of 1990's, newly emerging Jazz was reflected to the popular culture along with the historical mode's fashion in the general society. The design's decided with two themes of Jazz Classic and Neo Fusion to modernly and naturally express the pursuit of strong color contrast which associated fast rhythm and lax image such as the counter melody of smooth Jazz. In that result, Jazz image with auditory feelings could suggest the various design motive and new idea to fashion design.

A model for teaching traditional Korean rhythmic patterns using Orff's ear training approach was developed and implemented with aim that it could be used as basic data for the operation of Korean music education. Children's rhythmic sense improved through teaching of sound searching, body rhythm, playing instruments, and improvising. Teaching the order of connective rhythmic patterns and a basic patterns-centered approach was more effective than teaching modified rhythmic patterns. With ear training, children perceived the stress of rhythmic patterns in advance and they perceived the length of sound. These results show that this model can be used as a basic approach in the operation of Korean music education.

An exploration for an intelligence paradigm has been delineated. Artificial intelligence and artificial life paradigms seem to fail to show the whole picture of human intelligence. We may understand the human intelligence better by adding the emotional part of human intelligence to the intellectual part of human intelligence. Emotional intelligence is investigated in terms of composing machine as a modern abstract art. Various algorithmic composition and performance concepts are currently being investigated and implemented. Intelligent mapping algorithms restructure the traditional predetermined composition algorithms. Music based on fractals and neural networks is being composed. Also, emotional intelligence and aesthetic aspects of Korean traditional music are investigated in terms of fractal relationship. As a result, this exploration will greatly broaden the potentials of the intelligence research. The exploration of art in the view of intelligence, information and structure will restore the balanced sense, of art and science which seeks happiness in life. The investigations of emotional intelligence will establish the foundations of intelligence, information and control technologies.

In this paper, we realize a real time digital FM synthesizer based on genetic algorithm using a general purpose digital signal processor. Especially, we synthesize diverse music sounds nicely using a synthesis model consisting of a single modulator and multiple carriers. Also we present genetic algorithm-based technique which determines optimal parameters for reconstruction through FM synthesis of a sound after analyzing the spectrum of PCM data as a standard music sound using FFT. Using the suggested parameter extractiuon algorithm, we extract parameters of several instruments and then synthesize digital FM sounds. To verify the validity of the parameter extraction algorithm as well as realization of a real time digital music synthesizer, the evaluation is first done by listening the sound directly as subjective test. Secondly, to evaluate the synthesized sound objectively with an engineering sense, we compare the synthesized sound with an original one in a time domain and a frequency domain.

Analyzing various works of Nam June Paik who pioneered the world of video art, we can find a number of audiovisual art pieces - in a broad sense - with the characteristics of "intermedia" that are not clearly identified as one genre. Especially, his career as a musician becomes an important clue for us to discuss the unique originality found in Paik's works. Nevertheless, examples of research that specifically explore how Paik's musicality is reflected in his artistry and could be deeply understood is still rare. This article examines Paik's audiovisual art world, and reviews how his musicality is expressed through the characteristics of media and form, as well as contributed to the ultimate technical and aesthetic realizations of his pieces from the perspective of musical synesthesia. The fact that Paik expanded the concept of music through technology, and fused different media to visualize music, is an important achievement in the context of aesthetic, synesthetic music in the field of audiovisual art.

현대 대중문화 속에서 대중음악의 비중이 커짐에 따라 인간의 감성을 표현하는 수단의 하나인 음악에서 가사의 역할 비중이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구는 경쾌한 감성 음악과 슬픈 감성 음악의 가사를 비교 연구하여 각각 감성 표현을 어떻게 극대화 할 수 있는지 증명하는 것을 제시한다. 이로 인하여 경쾌한 감성 음악의 다양성과 슬픈 감성 음악의 한정성으로 차이점이 나타나는 특징을 입증한다.
