본 논문은 현재 인공지능(AI) 기반 음악 작곡 프로그램의 발전과 한계를 살펴본다. AI 작곡 프로그램은 딥러닝 기술의 적용으로 큰 성장을 이루었다. 하지만 현재까지의 인공지능 기반 작곡 프로그램은 획일화된 시스템으로 인하여 단순하게 음악을 모방하는 수준에 그치고 있으며, 예술적, 창의적 영역에서 한계가 있어 보인다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 인공지능 기반 작곡 프로그램에 대한 정보를 수집하여 비교 및 분석하고, 각 프로그램이 추구하는 기술적 방향성과 음악적 컨셉, 그리고 한계점을 고찰하는 과정을 통해 미래의 인공지능 음악 작곡 프로그램이 나아가야 할 방향을 모색하려 한다. 더불어 논문에서는 개인화 시대에 발맞추어 '개인 맞춤형' 음악과 인간의 예술성이 반영된 인공지능 기반 음악 작곡 프로그램 개발의 중요성을 강조한다. 결국 인공지능 기반 작곡 프로그램은 결과물인 음악으로 청자에게 어떠한 감동을 줄 수 있을지에 대한 심도 있는 연구와 실행이 필요하다. 이러한 인공지능 기반 작곡 프로그램은 새로운 음악 산업의 구조를 형성할 것이며, 음악 산업의 발전에 기여할 것으로 전망한다.

Music is composed according to time flow. In case of music therapy, it is the most important thing and this properties must be emphasized in operation, also act as one of the most important elements that increase the effect of medical treatment. Especially in the case of Oriental Medical music therapy, we must consider the change of time and space, so determine the direction and methods of treatment. In order to compose the music therapy process according to time flow[plot composition], first we have to analyze the musical and literary works that have step-by-step composition. Next we must consider how Gi(氣) changes occur in the base of principle of Eumyang(陰陽) and Ohaeng(五行). When the rule of composition as time flow is grafted onto Oriental Medical music therapy, native characteristics of music would have significance.

In this study, we investigated the necessity and limitations of music composition required in TV documentary by conducting in-depth interviews with 20 music directors currently working at Korean Broadcasting System (KBS). Our research has shown that composition of music is necessary. However, in reality, it is difficult to use the composed music due to problems such as time and cost of composing and trust in the music composer; so music libraries, film music, or other music are used instead of the composed music in many situations. However, at the time when companies like its rival Netflix are aware of the importance of sound, the impact of Netflix could lead to a decline in the quality of terrestrial TV, which could lead to a weakening of competitiveness. Recently, in the case of sound programs, the sales of secondary works are active due to "internet uploading using YouTube" or "exporting programs", but the sales have been hindered by restrictions on the use of copyrighted works. The music source of library is said to be the one whose copyright problem has been resolved. In this study, we show that the composed music is an ultimate alternative to TV documentaries, since the library music is sometimes suspended due to the situations of management companies.

음악 분야에서는 최근 머신러닝을 이용한 다양한 인공지능 작곡 방법이 시도되고 있다. 하지만 이 연구는 대부분 서양음악을 중심으로 이루어져왔고 국악에 관한 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않았다. 특히 연구를 위한 데이터 세트조차 만들어지지 않은 상태여서 연구에 어려움이 많았다. 이에 해당 논문에서는 국악의 데이터 세트를 만들고 그 데이터 세트를 기반으로 하여 세 가지 알고리즘을 이용하여 국악 멜로디를 생성하고 그 결과물을 비교하여 보기로 한다. 언어와 음악의 유사성에 기반한 LSTM, Music Transformer 그리고 Self Attention 3가지 모델들이 선택되었다. 각 3가지 모델을 이용하여 국악 멜로디 생성기를 모델링하고 학습시켜 국악 멜로디를 생성해 내었다. 사용자 평가 결과 Self Attention 방식이 LSTM 방식과 Music transformer 방식에 비해 높은 선호도를 보였다. 데이터 표현 및 훈련데이터는 인공지능 작곡에 있어 매우 중요하다. 이를 위한 기초적인 국악 데이터 세트를 만들고 다양한 알고리즘으로 인공지능 작곡을 시도하였고 이것이 향후 국악 인공지능 작곡의 연구에 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

본 논문에서는 프랙탈 이론을 이용한 새로운 자동 작곡 알고리즘을 제안한다. 사용자는 L-System에서 시작 상태 및 생성 규칙들을 설정함으로써 다양한 프랙탈 형태를 정의 및 조정할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 L-System과 확률을 이용하여 비대칭인 프랙탈 트리를 생성한다. 그리고 생성된 프랙탈 트리의 이미지를 기반으로 음악화 기법을 이용하여 음악을 생성한다. 본 논문에서는 다음 두 가지 방법을 소개한다. 첫째로, 이미지의 x축과 y축을 음의 크기와 음정으로 매핑하여 단선율 음악을 생성한다. 둘째로, 이미지의 x축과 y축을 시간과 음정으로 매핑하여 다성음악을 생성한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법을 이용하여 사용자는 프랙탈의 재귀적인 특징이 반복성으로 나타나는 음악을 생성할 수 있으며, 프랙탈 트리의 모습을 음악적 구조로 갖는 음악을 생성할 수 있다.

본 연구는 인공지능 기반 작곡 프로그램 현황을 살펴보고 실정을 고려한 제언을 제공하고자 한다. 인공지능 기반 작곡 프로그램은 기존의 '전문가 시스템' 방식의 알고리즘을 벗어나 심층신경망 이론의 발전 및 빅데이터 처리 기술 향상과 더불어 눈부신 성장을 보이고 있다. 이에 따라 클래식 음악과, 팝음악을 작곡하는데 있어 인공지능 기반 작곡 프로그램이 학계와 산업계에서 다양하게 제안되고 있으며, 최근 수년 사이 대중의 평가도 달라지고 있다. 다만 해당 기술 개발과 관련하여 여전한 한계점들이 분명히 존재하는 바, 대중의 인식 문제, 데이터베이스화되지 않은 가치 있는 사료들의 누락, 관련 법규의 미비, 음악적인 부분보다는 기술적 관점에서 해당 산업이 주도되는 점 등을 개선할 필요가 있겠다. 이 같은 점이 보완된다면, 인공지능 기반 기술은 국가 경쟁력 확보와 유지에 있어 중요한 역할을 해낼 것으로 보인다.

본 논문에서는 위의 문제들을 해결하고자 작곡, 드럼 믹싱, 청음 기능을 제공하는 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문의 공헌은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시간과 장소에 구애 받지 않고 웹 브라우저를 통해 작곡, 리스닝, 검색을 할 수 있도록 하는 웹 음악저작 시스템을 제안한다. 둘째, 리듬을 관리하는 드럼 믹싱 기능을 소개한다. 셋째, 음감을 향상시켜주는 게임 콘텐츠를 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 사용자가 웹 브라우저를 통하여 언제 어디서나 작곡이 가능하도록 지원하며, 드럼 믹싱을 통하여보다 풍부한 작곡 기능을 제공하고, 청음게임을 통하여 음감향상의 효과를 기대할 수 있는 방법론이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the problems concerning 780 music division of DDC. The object is especially arrangement of 780 music in the 20th edition of DDC which is the complete revision. The result is summarized as follows : 1. Although music is an important subject in humanities, especially in arts, it was classified as one division (780) not class. 2. The arrangement of 780 music is severely west-oriented music theory, vocal music and instrumental music. 3. Classification number of 780 music becomes longer because of the limitation of decimal notation. 4. 780 music division of DDC neglects music theory and emphasizes music practicing, especially performance. 5. The assignment of classification number is unbalanced, especially between theory and practice, composition and performance, and among sub-sections of vocal and instrumental music. 6. Many important subject are omitted in DDC music schedule, for example, musicology and branches of musicology, composition and traditional instruments of many countries. 7. Employment of terminology is often improper and inconsistant.

Although various music composition programs for PCs have become commonplace, the reasons why people think it is hard to make music are the lack of experience with musical instruments, the lack of knowledge of music or composition, and the fear of learning MIDI software. In this paper, we propose an effective method to solve this problem by using plain text based method which makes it easy for the general people who do not know MIDI, have little experience of musical instruments, and cannot even read music to make their own music. As a result, many people who like music but have not been able to produce their own music may produce and distribute music, and collaborate with others to produce better quality music.

There is a unique method of musical expression in the nature documentary. The expression method is Mickey Mousing technique, which expresses the movement of animals with music. The Mickey mousing technique can also be used in other types of documentaries, but it is most prominently used in nature documentaries. The Mickey Mousing technique cannot be used in any field other than music composition, because the composer should describe the movement of animals by playing music to match the animal's movements exactly. It is also because they have to play the instrument separately according to the sound source. In this study, we examined the nature documentaries broadcast by KBS over the last five years and analyzed the cases of Mickey Mousing technique. Therefore, we obtained research results that the Mickey Mousing technique is necessary and that the music composition is also necessary as a background music of nature documentaries.
