  • Harmonic band of bandpass filter(BPF) is suppressed using coupled mushroom structure. Between double positive (DPS) transmission line such as microstrip and double negative(DNG) transmission line such as one dimensional mushroom structure, strong coupling broadly arises in the cross range of dispersion curves of isolated microstrip and mushroom structure because of complex propagation constant in the cross range. Strong coupling inhibits wave propagation, so that this kind of structure can be utilized as bandstop filter(BSF). This BSF utilizes coupled transmission line instead of coupled resonator, resulting in broad bandwidth(>30 %), shan-rejection, and high rejection level. The strong coupling between DPS and DNG transmissionline makes it possible shorten coupling length, resulting in compact size. In this paper, parallel coupled BSF having center frequency of 4 GHz and 3 dB fractional bandwidth of 40 % is designed and utilized to suppressed spurious mode of two bandpass filters.

It has been shown to grow with a stable cultivation facilities structure against environmental changes. The results of the analysis of the changes in the cultivation environment of Yeoju area in July-august, temperature and humidity of the external instrument shelter was $20.2{\sim}29.9^{\circ}C$ and 66.2~99.9% respectively. In the greenhouse 2 model capable of temperature environment regulation in the cultivation facility, temperature and humidity were investigated $19.3{\sim}25.7^{\circ}C$ and 81.6~99.9% respectively. Result of the survey of fruiting body characteristics and yields in the greenhous 2, pileus diameter and stipe length were investigated 66.2 and 54.1 mm, yield of mushroom and individual weight were 312 g and 26.6 g. High-temperature environment regulation shows the improvement of the quality and productivity of the mushroom. Power consumption of the air conditioning has been investigated using 56kwh/day, electricity costs were calculated 2195 won/day.

  • We analyzed a periodic thick mushroom structure for use as an artificial magnetic conductor using mode-matching method. The fields in each region were represented by either Floquet modes or waveguide modes. By applying tangential electric and magnetic field continuity conditions and using matrix equations, unknown coefficients and dispersion diagram were calculated. The proposed model can account for the effects of oblique incidence. Simulation time using the method was much faster than the commercial tools. We found that the current method produces accurate results of reflection phase and dispersion diagram.

  • In this paper, the design of a new bandpass filter based on the modified circular mushroom metamaterial structure is proposed. In detail, half circular mushroom cells are used as the zeroth order resonators(ZOR), and an intermediate gap is adopted to introduce the coupling between neighboring ZOR resonators. The proposed bandpass filter design is validated by the circuit and 3D EM simulations and measurements compared to the target specifications, and the metamaterial properties are proved by the ZOR field distributions and dispersion diagram. Also, the effect of size reduction is addressed.

  • Mushroom tyrosinase (MT) structural changes in the presence of $Cu ^{2+}$ and $Ni ^{2+}$ were studied separately. Far-UV CD spectra of the incubated MT with the either of the metal ions indicated reduction of the well-ordered secondary structure of the enzyme. Increasing in the maximum fluorescence emission of anilinonaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid (ANS) was also revealing partial unfolding caused by the conformational changes in the tertiary structure of MT. Thermodynamic studies on the chemical denaturation of MT by dodecyl trimethylammonium bromide (DTAB) showed decrease in the stability of MT in the presence of $Cu ^{2+}$ or $Ni ^{2+}$ using their activation concentrations. Both activities of MT were also assessed in the presence of different concentrations of these ions, separately, with various monophenols and their corresponding diphenols. Kinetic studies revealed that cresolase activity on p-coumaric acid was boosted in the presence of either of the metal ions, but inhibited when phenol, L-tyrosine, or 4-[(4-methylphenyl)azo]-phenol was substrate. Similarly, catecholase activity on caffeic acid was enhanced in the presence of $Cu ^{2+}$ or $Ni ^{2+}$, but inhibited when catechol, L-DOPA, or 4-[(4-methylbenzo)azo]-1,2-benzenediol was substrate. Results of this study suggest that both cations make MT more fragile and less active. However, the effect of the substrate structure on the MT allosteric behavior can not be ignored.

  • Spawn bottle cutting and spawn cake shredding machine has been developed to save the farm labor and operating cost for mushroom growing farmers. The prototype can cut the bottom and side of the bottle while shredding the spawn cake by one farmer. The cutting plastic shell is done by two couples of high speed disc saws that can cut cross section and lengthwise two side of the bottle, while spawn cake shredding is done by spike teethed rotating drum and wiremesh concave. The optimum speed of cutting disc saw was observed 1.700rpm both the cross cutting saw and lengthwise cutting saw in consideration of the cutting accuracy. And the location for the instalation of cross cutting disc saw was considered as around 4 mm above the table bottom , while the optimum clearance between two edges of lengthwise cutting disc saw was showed 86mm. For the sawdust spawn cake shredder , proper size of spawn sawdust granule was observed in the 15 x 15mm size withmesh concave with the shredding rum speed of 500rpm. The prototype can be reduce 73 per cent of working hours with the working cost reduction of 49 per cent compare with those of conventional operation.

  • In order to develop hydroquinone analogues for topical delivery, a structure-activity relationship study has been performed. A series of 2-substituted hydroquinones were tested for their ability to inhibit mushroom tyrosinase, alter melanin release and exert cytotoxicity in B6-F10 melanocytes. The electronic property of the 2-substituents did not affect the tyrosinase inhibition nor melanocyte toxicity. However, lipophilicity did affect to some degree the tyrosinase inhibition. The discrepancy in the structure-activity relationship may be due to the poor aqueous solubility of select analogues. Compounds with steric bulk at the 2-position seems to be less soluble, not enabling the analogue to interact effectively with the tyrosinase enzyme. Among the analogues tested, 2-isopropyl hydroquinone seems to be the most promising candidate for topical delivery, being the least toxic analogue with moderate melanin release inhibition.

  • Agaricus bisporus is an important edible mushroom that is used as a functional food. In this study, European A. bisporus strains were analyzed for genetic diversity, population structure, and genetic differentiation using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. European A. bisporus strains were divided into four groups by distance-based analysis and two subpopulations by model-based analysis. The SSR markers used in this study did not group European A. bisporus strains by geographical region or pileus color. Genetic diversity was high in Group 4 based on distance-based analysis and Pop. 2 based on model-based analysis. A. bisporus strains showed very low genetic differentiation. The results of this study can be used for breeding A. bisporus in the future.

  • The resonant bio-sensor of bi-level grating structure with mushroom profile has been designed for operating in the near-infrared (NIR) wavelength range under transverse electric (TE) polarization. The rigorous modal transmission-line theory (MTLT) is applied to determine the optical characteristics, and the reflection resonance of the grating structure is analyzed by varying their geometrical parameters. The numerical result shows that an excited sharp Fano resonance (FR), which does not occur in single layer grating, is demonstrated. The relationship between structure parameters of bi-level grating and the reflectance spectrum in order to guarantee the appearance of FR in the designed structure is fully investigated. An optical bio-sensor with a potential sensitivity of 112.9~214.3 deg/RIU and 447 nm/RIU is designed based on the proposed structure. The proposed mushroom profile may serve as a powerful sample for the design of optical bio-sensors with a wide range of applications.
