기상요소와 MODIS NDVI를 이용한 한국형 논벼 생산량 예측모형 (KRPM)의 개발 (Development of Korean Paddy Rice Yield Prediction Model (KRPM) using Meteorological Element and MODIS NDVI)

  • Food policy is considered as the most basic and central issue for all countries, while making efforts to keep each country's food sovereignty and enhance food self-sufficiency. In the case of Korea where the staple food is rice, the rice yield prediction is regarded as a very important task to cope with unstable food supply at a national level. In this study, Korean paddy Rice yield Prediction Model (KRPM) developed to predict the paddy rice yield using meteorological element and MODIS NDVI. A multiple linear regression analysis was carried out by using the NDVI extracted from satellite image. Six meteorological elements include average temperature; maximum temperature; minimum temperature; rainfall; accumulated rainfall and duration of sunshine. Concerning the evaluation for the applicability of the KRPM, the accuracy assessment was carried out through correlation analysis between predicted and provided data by the National Statistical Office of paddy rice yield in 2011. The 2011 predicted yield of paddy rice by KRPM was 505 kg/10a at whole country level and 487 kg/10a by agroclimatic zones using stepwise regression while the predicted value by KOrea Statistical Information Service was 532 kg/10a. The characteristics of changes in paddy rice yield according to NDVI and other meteorological elements were well reflected by the KRPM.

  • The comparative evaluation of occupational accident fatality rates (OAFRs) of different countries is complicated owing to the differences in their level of socio-economic development. However, such evaluation is necessary to assess the national occupational safety and health system of a country. This study proposes a statistical method to compare the OAFRs of countries taking into consideration the difference in their level of socio-economic development. We first collected data on the socio-economic indicators and OAFRs of 11 countries over a 30-year period. Next, based on literature survey and statistical correlation analysis, we selected the significant independent variables and built multiple linear regression models to predict OAFR. We also determined the groups of countries having heterogeneous relationships between the independent variables and OAFRs, which are represented by the regression models. The proposed method is demonstrated by comparing the OAFR of Korea with the OAFRs of 10 other developed countries.

전자출판에서 입.출력 장치의 컬러 관리에 관한 연구 (II) (A Study on Color Management of Input and Output Device in Electronic Publishing (II))

  • The input and output device requires precise color representation and CMS (Color Management System) because of the increasing number of ways to apply the digital image into electronic publishing. However, there are slight differences in the device dependent color signal among the input and output devices. Also, because of the non-linear conversion of the input signal value to the output signal value, there are color differences between the original copy and the output copy. It seems necessary for device-dependent color information values to change into device-independent color information values. When creating an original copy through electronic publishing, there should be color management with the input and output devices. From the devices' three phases of calibration, characterization and color conversion, the device-dependent color should undergo a color transformation into a device-independent color. In this paper, an experiment was done where the input device used the linear multiple regression and the sRGB color space to perform a color transformation. The output device used the GOG, GOGO and sRGB for the color transformation. After undergoing a color transformation in the input and output devices, the best results were created when the original target underwent a color transformation by the scanner and digital camera input device by the linear multiple regression, and the LCD output device underwent a color transformation by the GOG model.

디지털 인쇄에 있어서 컬러의 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of color in Digital Printing)

  • In this paper, an experiment was done where the input(scanner, digital still camera) and monitor(CRT, LCD) device used the linear multiple regression and the GOG (Gain-Offset-Gamma) characterization model to perform a color transformation. Also to color conversion method of the digital printer it used the LUT(Look Up Table), 3dimension linear interpolation and a tetrahedron interpolation method. The results are as follows. From color reappearance of digital printing case of monitor, the XYZ which it converts in linear multiple regression of input device it multiplied the inverse matrix, and then it applies the inverse GOG model and after color converting the patch of the result most which showed color difference below 5 at monitor RGB value. Also, The XYZ which is transmitted from the case input device which is a printer it makes at LAB value to convert an extreme, when the LAB value which is converted calculating the CMY with the LUT and tetrahedral interpolations the color conversion which considers the black quantity was more accurate.

  • PURPOSES : This study deals with the traffic accidents classified by the traffic analysis zone. The purpose is to develop the accident density models by using zonal traffic and socioeconomic data. METHODS : The traffic accident density models are developed through multiple linear regression analysis. In this study, three multiple linear models were developed. The dependent variable was traffic accident density, which is a measure of the relative distribution of traffic accidents. The independent variables were various traffic and socioeconomic variables. CONCLUSIONS : Three traffic accident density models were developed, and all models were statistically significant. Road length, trip production volume, intersections, van ratio, and number of vehicles per person in the transportation-based model were analyzed to be positive to the accident. Residential and commercial area ratio and transportation vulnerability ratio obtained using the socioeconomic-based model were found to affect the accident. The major arterial road ratio, trip production volume, intersection, van ratio, commercial ratio, and number of companies in the integrated model were also found to be related to the accident.

대학 급식소의 식수예측 모델 개발 (Development of a Forecasting Model for University Food Services)

  • The purposes of this study were to develop a model for university foodservices and to provide management strategies for reducing costs, and increasing productivity and customer satisfaction. The results of this study were as follows : 1) The demands in university food services varied depending on the time series. A fixed pattern was discovered for specific times of the month and semesters. The demand tended to constantly decrease from the beginning of a specific semester to the end, from March to June and from September to December. Moreover, the demand was higher during the first semester than the second semester, within school term than during vacation periods, and during the summer vacation than the winter. 2) Pearson's simple correlation was done between actual customer demand and the factors relating to forecasting the demand. There was a high level of correlation between the actual demand and the demand that had occurred in the previous weeks. 3) By applying the stepwise multiple linear regression analysis to two different university food services providing multiple menu items, a model was developed in terms of four different time series(first semester, second semester, summer vacation, and winter vacation). Customer preference for specific menu items was found to be the most important factor to be considered in forecasting the demand.

감조하천에서의 저수위 유량산정 다중회귀식 개발 (Development of Regression Equation for Water Quantity Estimation in a Tidal River)

  • Reliable flow measurement for dry season is very important to set up the in-stream flow exactly and total maximum daily load control program in the basin. Especially, in the points which tidal current effects are dominant because reliability of the low measurement decrease. The reliable measuring methods are needed. In this study, we analysis the water surface elevation difference of water surface elevation. Quantity relationship to consider tidal currents in these regions. It is known that tidal current effects from Nakdong river barrage are dominant in Samrangjin measuring station. We developed multiple regression equation with water surface elevation, quantity, and difference of water surface elevation and compared these results water measured rating curve. All of these regression equation including linear regression equation and log regression equation fits better measured data them existing water surface elevation quantity line and Among three equations, the log regression equation is best to represent the measured the rating curve in Samrangjin point. The log regression equation is useful method to obtain the quantity in the regions which tidal currents are dominant.

알루미늄 합금의 레이저 가공에서 인장 강도 예측을 위한 회귀 모델 및 신경망 모델의 개발 (Development of Statistical Model and Neural Network Model for Tensile Strength Estimation in Laser Material Processing of Aluminum Alloy)

  • Aluminum alloy which is one of the light materials has been tried to apply to light weight vehicle body. In order to do that, welding technology is very important. In case of the aluminum laser welding, the strength of welded part is reduced due to porosity, underfill, and magnesium loss. To overcome these problems, laser welding of aluminum with filler wire was suggested. In this study, experiment about laser welding of AA5182 aluminum alloy with AA5356 filler wire was performed according to process parameters such as laser power, welding speed and wire feed rate. The tensile strength was measured to find the weldability of laser welding with filler wire. The models to estimate tensile strength were suggested using three regression models and one neural network model. For regression models, one was the multiple linear regression model, another was the second order polynomial regression model, and the other was the multiple nonlinear regression model. Neural network model with 2 hidden layers which had 5 and 3 nodes respectively was investigated to find the most suitable model for the system. Estimation performance was evaluated for each model using the average error rate. Among the three regression models, the second order polynomial regression model had the best estimation performance. For all models, neural network model has the best estimation performance.

서울시 도시기온 변화에 관한 모델 연구 (Statistical Models of Air Temperatures in Seoul)

  • Under the assumption that the temperature of one location is closely related to land use characteristics around that location, this study is carried out to assess the impact of urban land use patterns on air temperature. In order to investigate the relationship, GIS techniques and statistical analyses are utilized, after spatially connecting urban land use data in Seoul Metropolitan Area with atmospheric data observed at Automatic Weather Stations (AWS). The research method is as follows: (1) To find out important land use factors on temperature, simple linear regressions for a specific time period (pilot study) are conducted with urban land use characteristics, (2) To make a final model, multiple regressions are carried out with those factors and, (3) To verify that the final model could be appled to explain temperature variations beyond the period, the model is extensively used for 5 different time periods: 1999 as a whole; summer in 1999; 1998 as a whole; summer in 1998; August in 1998. The results of simple linear regression models in the pilot study show that transportation facilities and open space area are very influential on urban air temperature variations, which explain 66 and 61 percent of the variations, respectively. However, the other land use variables (residential, commercial, and mixed land use) are found to have weak or insignificant relationship to the air temperatures. Multiple linear regression with the two important variables in the pilot study is estimated, which shows that the model explains 75 percent of the variability in air temperatures with correct signs of regression coefficients. Thus, it is empirically shown that an increase in open space and a decrease in transportation facilities area can leads to the decrease in air temperature. After the final model is extensively applied to the 5 different time periods, the estimated models explain 68 ∼ 75 percent of the variations in the temperatures is significant regression coefficients for all explanatory variables. This result provides a possibility that one air temperature model for a specific time period could be a good model for other time periods near to the period. The important implications of this result to lessen high air temperature we: (1) to expand and to conserve open space and (2) to control transportation-related factors such as transportation facilities area, road pavement and traffic congestion.

선형회귀분석과 머신러닝을 이용한 암석의 강도 및 암석학적 특징 기반 세르샤 마모지수 추정 (Estimation of Cerchar abrasivity index based on rock strength and petrological characteristics using linear regression and machine learning)

  • TBM (Tunnel boring machine)은 터널 굴착 과정에서 여러 디스크 커터를 이용하여 암석을 절삭한다. 디스크 커터는 암석과의 지속적인 접촉과 마찰로 인해 마모된다. 디스크 커터의 표면이 마모되면 절삭 능력이 감소하고 굴착 효율이 떨어진다. 암석의 마모성은 디스크 커터 마모에 큰 영향을 미친다. 높은 마모도를 가진 암석은 커터에 더 큰 마모를 일으키며, 이는 디스크 커터의 수명을 단축시킨다. 세르샤 마모지수(Cerchar abrasivity index, CAI)는 암석의 마모성을 평가하는데 널리 사용되는 지표로 CAI는 암석의 마모특성을 나타내며, 디스크 커터의 수명과 성능 예측에 필수적인 요소로 인식되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 암석의 강도, 암석학적 특성과 선형회귀, 머신러닝 기법을 이용하여 CAI를 효과적으로 추정하는 새로운 방법을 개발하는 것이다. 문헌 조사를 통해 CAI, 일축압축강도, 압열인장강도, 등가석영함량이 포함된 데이터베이스를 구축하고 파생변수를 추가하였다. 통계적 유의성과 다중공선성을 고려하여 다중선형회귀분석을 위한 입력변수를 선정하였고, 머신러닝 모델의 입력변수는 변수중요도 분석을 통해 선정하였다. 머신러닝 예측모델 중 Gradient Boosting 모델의 예측 성능이 가장 높게 나타나 최적의 CAI 예측 모델로 선정되었다. 마지막으로 본 연구에서 도출한 다중선형회귀분석과 Gradient Boosting 모델의 예측 성능을 선행연구들의 CAI 예측모델과 비교하여 연구 결과의 타당성을 확인하였다.
