In this paper, an experiment was done where the input(scanner, digital still camera) and monitor(CRT, LCD) device used the linear multiple regression and the GOG (Gain-Offset-Gamma) characterization model to perform a color transformation. Also to color conversion method of the digital printer it used the LUT(Look Up Table), 3dimension linear interpolation and a tetrahedron interpolation method. The results are as follows. From color reappearance of digital printing case of monitor, the XYZ which it converts in linear multiple regression of input device it multiplied the inverse matrix, and then it applies the inverse GOG model and after color converting the patch of the result most which showed color difference below 5 at monitor RGB value. Also, The XYZ which is transmitted from the case input device which is a printer it makes at LAB value to convert an extreme, when the LAB value which is converted calculating the CMY with the LUT and tetrahedral interpolations the color conversion which considers the black quantity was more accurate.

The input and output device requires precise color representation and CMS (Color Management System) because of the increasing number of ways to apply the digital image into electronic publishing. However, there are slight differences in the device dependent color signal among the input and output devices. Also, because of the non-linear conversion of the input signal value to the output signal value, there are color differences between the original copy and the output copy. It seems necessary for device-dependent color information values to change into device-independent color information values. When creating an original copy through electronic publishing, there should be color management with the input and output devices. From the devices' three phases of calibration, characterization and color conversion, the device-dependent color should undergo a color transformation into a device-independent color. In this paper, an experiment was done where the input device used the linear multiple regression and the sRGB color space to perform a color transformation. The output device used the GOG, GOGO and sRGB for the color transformation. After undergoing a color transformation in the input and output devices, the best results were created when the original target underwent a color transformation by the scanner and digital camera input device by the linear multiple regression, and the LCD output device underwent a color transformation by the GOG model.

There very many approaches to impute missing values in the iid. case. However, it is hardly found the imputation techniques in the Markov random field(MRF) case. In this paper, we show that the imputation under MRF is just to impute by fitting the normal mixture model(NMM) under several practical assumptions. Our multivariate normal mixture model based approaches under MRF is applied to impute the missing pixel values of 3-variate (R, G, B) color image, providing a technique to smooth the imputed values.

In this paper, we propose multiple human tracking with an moving stereo camera. The tracking process is based on mean shift algorithm which is using color information of the target. Color based tracking approach is invariant to translation and rotation of the target but, it has several problems. Because of mean shift uses color distribution, it is sensitive to color distribution of background and targets. In order to solve this problem, we combine color and depth information of target. Also, we build human body part model to handle occlusions and we have created adaptive box scale. As a result, the proposed method is simple and efficient to track multiple humans in real time.
This paper describes a method for vision-based person identification that can detect, track, and recognize person from video using multiple cues: height and dressing colors. The method does not require constrained target's pose or fully frontal face image to identify the person. First, the system, which is connected to a pan-tilt-zoom camera, detects target using motion detection and human cardboard model. The system keeps tracking the moving target while it is trying to identify whether it is a human and identify who it is among the registered persons in the database. To segment the moving target from the background scene, we employ a version of background subtraction technique and some spatial filtering. Once the target is segmented, we then align the target with the generic human cardboard model to verify whether the detected target is a human. If the target is identified as a human, the card board model is also used to segment the body parts to obtain some salient features such as head, torso, and legs. The whole body silhouette is also analyzed to obtain the target's shape information such as height and slimness. We then use these multiple cues (at present, we uses shirt color, trousers color, and body height) to recognize the target using a supervised self-organization process. We preliminary tested the system on a set of 5 subjects with multiple clothes. The recognition rate is 100% if the person is wearing the clothes that were learned before. In case a person wears new dresses the system fail to identify. This means height is not enough to classify persons. We plan to extend the work by adding more cues such as skin color, and face recognition by utilizing the zoom capability of the camera to obtain high resolution view of face; then, evaluate the system with more subjects.
Measuring spectral reflectance can be regarded as obtaining inherent color parameters, and spectral reflectance has been used in image processing. Model-based spectrum recovering, one of the method for obtaining spectral reflectance, uses ordinary camera with multiple illuminations. Conventional model-based methods allow to recover spectral reflectance efficiently by using only a few parameters, however it requires some parameters such as power spectrum of illuminations and spectrum sensitivity of camera. In this paper, we propose an enhanced model-based spectrum recovering method without pre-measured parameters: power spectrum of illuminations and spectrum sensitivity of camera. Instead of measuring each parameters, spectral reflectance can be efficiently recovered by estimating and using the spectrum characteristic matrix which contains spectrum parameters: basis function, power spectrum of illumination, and spectrum sensitivity of camera. The spectrum characteristic matrix can be easily estimated using captured images from scenes with color checker under multiple illuminations. Additionally, we suggest fast recovering method preserving positive constraint of spectrum by nonnegative basis function of spectral reflectance. Results of our method showed accurately reconstructed spectral reflectance and fast constrained estimation with unmeasured camera and illumination. As our method could be conducted conveniently, measuring spectral reflectance is expected to be widely used.
This paper propose skin color detection that uses MLP(Multi Layer Perceptron) and multiple color models. The proposed method reduces weight of MLP by partial connection between input layer and hidden layer based on color models, and the using color models are RGB model and YCbCr model. The experimental result for proposed method showed 94% classification rate of skin and non-skin pixels with 32% decrease in the number of weight compare to general MLP on the average.
Recent observations for the Galactic globular clusters (GCs) have shown that a number of GCs have characteristic features of multiple stellar populations, such as multiple main-sequences (MSs), splits in sub-giant branch (SGB), bimodal and/or extended horizontal branches (HBs). Based on the population synthesis models, we investigate star formation histories of the GCs with multiple populations, $\omega$ Cen, M54, NGC 1851, NGC 6388, NGC 6441, and NGC 2808, by comparing synthetic model color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) with observations. We adopt most up-to-date Yonsei-Yale (Y2) stellar evolutionary tracks and isochrones from MS to post-HB, as well as improved color-temperature transformations from the recent stellar atmosphere libraries. Our models show that the observed features can be naturally explained by assuming the presence of helium-enhanced subpopulations.
In this paper, we propose a 3D display method combining a pickup process using axially recorded multiple images and an integral imaging display process. First, we extract the color and depth information of 3D objects for displaying 3D images from axially recorded multiple 2D images. Next, using the extracted depth map and color images, elemental images are computationally synthesized based on a ray mapping model between 3D space and an elemental image plane. Finally, we display 3D images optically by an integral imaging system with a lenslet array. To show the usefulness of the proposed system, we carry out optical experiments for 3D objects and present the experimental results.
Face detection is still a challenging task under severe face pose variations in complex background. This paper proposes an effective algorithm which can detect single or multiple faces based on skin color detection and depth information. We introduce Gaussian mixture model(GMM) for skin color detection in a color image. The depth information is from three dimensional depth sensor of Kinect V2 device, and is useful in segmenting a human body from the background. Then, a labeling process successfully removes non-face region using several features. Experimental results show that the proposed face detection algorithm can provide robust detection performance even under variable conditions and complex background.
