  • This paper has been studied a real-time video frame data processing control that used the linear systolic array for motion estimation. The proposed data control processing provides to the input data into the multiple processor array unit(MPAU) from search area and reference block data. The proposed data control architecture has based on two slice band for input data processing. And it has no required external control logic blocks for input data as like reference block or search area data.

적응 다중 참조 이동 보상을 이용한 에러에 강인한 스케일러블 동영상 전송 기법 (Robust Scalable Video Transmission using Adaptive Multiple Reference Motion Compensated Prediction)

  • 본 논문에서는 동영상 부호화의 이동 보상 과정에서 다중의 참조 영상들을 적응적으로 이용하는 새로운 스케일러블(scalable) 부호화 기법을 제안한다. 제안 기법은 입력 신호의 특성을 고려하여. 확장계층 및 기저계층에서 다중의 이동 참조 영상들에 대한 최적 가중 값을 적응적으로 구한다. 이러한 기법을 이용하여. 확장계층의 부호화 효율 및 오류에 대한 강인성을 향상시킨다. 또한 복호기에서 전송 오류가 검출된 경우. 적응적으로 참조 영상을 선택함으로써 에러 파급(drift) 현상을 현저히 감소시킨다 실험 결과들로부터, 제안하는 적응적인 스케일러블 부호화 기법은 다양한 채널 에러(channel error) 환경에서, 기존의 스케일러블 H.263+부호화 기법에 비하여 PSNR 성능이 약 1.0㏈ 이상 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper dealt with the flow simulation for the optimum designed propeller for Micro Aerial Vehicle, using a commercial CFD program(FLUENT). The propeller was modeled by the Multiple Reference Frame(MRF) method. For the validation of the computational method, the flow field analysis results for the propeller were compared with the flow analysis results, which are using Xfoil, for the optimum design, and with the wind tunnel data of a similar propeller model. By these validation processes, the reliability of MRF method was confirmed.

  • Stirred tanks are widely used in various industries for mixing operations and chemical reactions for single- or multi-phase fluid systems. In this study, a numerical study was conducted to predict the mixing characteristics in a simple stirred tank. The flow in the model stirred tank was calculated utilizing the multiple reference frame (MRF) and the sliding mesh (SM) capabilities of a commercial CFD code (Fluent 6.2). The results of the flow simulation were analyzed in terms of the mixing efficiency, and the applicability of MRF and SM methods was also discussed.

Fuzzy Logic Based Temporal Error Concealment for H.264 Video

  • In this paper, a new error concealment algorithm is proposed for the H.264 standard. The algorithm consists of two processes. The first process uses a fuzzy logic method to select the size type of lost blocks. The motion vector of a lost block is calculated from the current frame, if the motion vectors of the neighboring blocks surrounding the lost block are discontinuous. Otherwise, the size type of the lost block can be determined from the preceding frame. The second process is an error concealment algorithm via a proposed adapted multiple-reference-frames selection for finding the lost motion vector. The adapted multiple-reference-frames selection is based on the motion estimation analysis of H.264 coding so that the number of searched frames can be reduced. Therefore the most accurate mode of the lost block can be determined with much less computation time in the selection of the lost motion vector. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves from 0.5 to 4.52 dB improvement when compared to the method in VM 9.0.

  • This paper describes the result of structure analysis of body structure. The purpose of the analysis is to evaluate an safety which body structure shall be considered fully sufficient rigidity so as to satisfy proper system function under maximum load and operating condition. Material of body structure applied an aluminum alloy. Body structure consist of side frame, under frame, roof frame, end frame. FEM analysis is based on 'Performance Test Standard for Electrical Multiple Unit, noticed by Ministry of Construction & Transportation, in 2000 ' and reference code is JIS E 7105. The analysis results have been very safety and stable for design load conditions.

움직임 벡터 참조 지도 기반의 고속 참조 영상 선택 방법 (Fast Reference Frame Selection Algorithm Based on Motion Vector Reference Map)

  • 다중 참조 영상을 이용한 가변 블록 크기의 움직임 예측 및 보상 기법이 부호화 효율을 높이기 위해 H.264/AVC에 채택되었다. 하지만 움직임 예측 및 보상으로 인한 계산량은 다중 참조 영상과 가변 블록의 수에 비례하여 증가한다. 본 논문에서는 화질은 유지하며 계산량을 줄이기 위한 새로운 고속 참조 영상선택 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 다중 참조 영상들에 대해서 $4{\times}4$ 블록의 SAD값을 이용하여 움직임 벡터 참조 지도를 만든다. 다음으로 가변 블록 크기의 움직임 예측 및 보상이 움직임 벡터 참조 지도를 활용하여 실시된다. 제안하는 방법은 H.264/AVC 표준과 비교하여 BDPSNR은 평균적으로 0.01dB 나빠지고 BDBR은 약 0.27% 증가하지만 영상 부호화 속도를 약 38% 단축시킨다.

  • Multiple-model speech recognizer has been shown to be quite successful in noisy speech recognition. However, its performance has usually been tested using the general speech front-ends which do not incorporate any noise adaptive algorithms. For the accurate evaluation of the effectiveness of the multiple-model frame in noisy speech recognition, we used the state-of-the-art front-ends and compared its performance with the well-known multi-style training method. In addition, we improved the multiple-model speech recognizer by employing N-best reference HMMs for interpolation and using multiple SNR levels for training each of the reference HMM.

A Multiband Shunt Hybrid Active Filter with Sensorless Control

  • This paper proposes a Multiband Shunt Hybrid Active Filter (SHAF) with sensorless control. A plant is modeled in the discrete- time domain and a controller is designed using the Pole shifting law in the polynomial domain. This control approach is very useful for filtering the load harmonics with reduced sensor counts where a low cost solution like SHAF is required. Multiple Synchronous Reference Frames (MSRF) and low pass filters are used to measure the $5^{th}$ and $7^{th}$ harmonic components separately from the load and filter currents. Individual current controllers are designed for the $5^{th}$ and $7^{th}$ harmonic currents. Control is realized in the stationary, three-phase (abc) reference frame. Performance of the controller is validated through simulation, using realistic plant and controller models, as well as experimentally on a full-scale distribution system.

전산유체역학을 이용한 자동차 엔진룸의 열 및 유동장 해석 (AUTOMOBILE UNDERHOOD THERMAL AND AIR FLOW SIMULATION USING CFD)

  • Automobile underhood thermal and airflow simulation h α s been performed by using a commercial CFD program, FLUENT. To implement the radiation heat transfer effect to the underhood thermal and flow field, Discrete Ordinates Method(DOM) was used. The cooling fan was modeled by using the Multiple Reference Frame(MRF) technique. For the implementation of the heat exchangers, such as radiator and condenser, which are located in the front side of vehicle, the effectiveness-NTU model was used. The pressure drop throughout the heat exchangers was modeled as Porous media. For the validation of the current computational method, the coolant temperature at the inlet port of the radiator was compared with experimental data, and less than 3% error was observed. Finally, the composed model was used for the cooling fan spec determination process in the development of a new vehicle, and the results showed that the current CFD method could be successfully applied to the vehicle development process.
