Cluster tools are extensively employed in various wafer fabrication processes within the semiconductor manufacturing industry, including photo lithography, etching, and chemical vapor deposition. Contemporary fabrication facilities encounter customer orders with technical specifications that are similar yet slightly varied. Consequently, modern fabrications concurrently manufacture two or three different wafer types using a cluster tool to maximize chamber utilization and streamline the flow of wafer lots between different process stages. In this review, we introduce two methods of concurrent processing of multiple wafer types: 1) concurrent processing of multiple wafer types with different job flows, 2) concurrent processing of multiple wafer types with identical job flows. We describe relevant research trends and achievements and discuss future research directions.
With the various urban characteristics of each city, the existing water demand prediction, which uses average liter per capita day, cannot be used to achieve an accurate prediction as it fails to consider several variables. Thus, this study considered social and industrial factors of 164 local cities, in addition to population and other directly influential factors, and used main substance and cluster analyses to develop a more efficient water demand prediction model that considers unique localities of each city. After clustering, a multiple regression model was developed that proved that the $R^2$ value of the inclusive multiple regression model was 0.59; whereas, those of Clusters A and B were 0.62 and 0.74, respectively. Thus, the multiple regression model was considered more reasonable and valid than the inclusive multiple regression model. In summary, the water demand prediction model using principal component and cluster analyses as the standards to classify localities has a better modification coefficient than that of the inclusive multiple regression model, which does not consider localities.
We develop a low complexity cooperative diversity protocol for low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) based wireless sensor networks. A cross layer approach is used to obtain spatial diversity in the physical layer. In this paper, a simple modification in clustering algorithm of the LEACH protocol is proposed to exploit virtual multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) based user cooperation. In lieu of selecting a single cluster-head at network layer, we proposed M cluster-heads in each cluster to obtain a diversity order of M in long distance communication. Due to the broadcast nature of wireless transmission, cluster-heads are able to receive data from sensor nodes at the same time. This fact ensures the synchronization required to implement a virtual MIMO based space time block code (STBC) in cluster-head to sink node transmission. An analytical method to evaluate the energy consumption based on BER curve is presented. Analysis and simulation results show that proposed cooperative LEACH protocol can save a huge amount of energy over LEACH protocol with same data rate, bit error rate, delay and bandwidth requirements. Moreover, this proposal can achieve higher order diversity with improved spectral efficiency compared to other virtual MIMO based protocols.

In this paper, we investigate the degrees of freedom (DoF) of a two-cluster multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multiway relay interference channel (mRIC), where there are two relays and two users per cluster. In this channel, users within the same cluster exchange messages among themselves with the help of two relays. We first obtain the DoF upper bound of the considered MIMO mRIC based on cut-set bound. Then, we propose a novel transmission strategy, blind interference neutralization (BIN), to approach the DoF upper bound. This new method utilizes the overheard information at two relays and focuses on the beamforming matrix designs at two relays so that the channel state information (CSI) at users is not required. Through theoretical analysis and numerical simulations, we show that the DoF upper bound can be obtained by using the BIN scheme. From simulation results, we show that the proposed BIN scheme can provide significant performance gain over the conventional time division multiple access (TDMA) scheme in terms of DoF. In addition, we show that the BIN scheme is a superior approach to the existing signal space alignment (SSA) schemes for the considered mRIC.

Late-type galaxies falling into a cluster would evolve being influenced by the interactions with both the cluster and the nearby cluster member galaxies. Most numerical studies, however, tend to focus on the effects of the former with little work done on those of the later. We thus perform numerical study on the evolution of a late-type galaxy falling radially toward the cluster center interacting with neighbouring early-type galaxies, using N-body, hydrodynamical simulations. Based on the information about the typical galaxy encounters obtained by using the galaxy catalog of Coma cluster, we run the simulations for the cases where a Milky Way Galaxy-like late-type galaxy, flying either edge-on or face-on, experiences six consecutive collisions with twice more massive early-type galaxies having hot gas in their halos. Our simulations show that the evolution of the late-type galaxy can be significantly affected by the high-speed multiple collisions with the early-type galaxies, such as on the cold gas content and the star formation activity, particularly through the hydrodynamic interactions between the cold disk and the hot gas halos. By comparing our simulation results with those of others, we claim that the role of the galaxy-galaxy interactions on the evolution of late-type galaxies in clusters could be comparable with that of the galaxy-cluster interactions, depending on the dynamical history.

The multiple character of the contact interaction and the collective behavior of elementary microcontacts play a significant role in all the processes occurring in the surface layers, including the failure due to friction and wear. The array of metal spheres compressed between flat plates has been used for simulation of the contact behavior of multiple contact of solids under normal loading. An experimental design has been made providing regular array of the spheres at the same size with different spatial order. Measurement of electrial contact resistance has been made using the equipment providing the adequate accuracy in the range of micro Ohms. The data on electrical contact resistance have been compared with theoretical predictions using the multiple contact model of constriction resistance. The effect of single spots number and array on conductivity of contact has been evaluated.
To examine the effect of neighboring galaxies on the gravitational lensing statistics, we performed numerical simulations of lensing by many galaxies. The models consist of a galaxy in the rich cluster like Coma, or a galaxy surrounded by field galaxies in $\Omega_0 = 1$ universe with $\Omega_{gal} = 0.1,\;\Omega_{gal} = 0.3\;or\;\Omega_{gal}=1.0\;,\;where\;\Omega_{gal}$ is the total mass in galaxies. Field galaxies either have the same mass or follow Schechter luminosity function and luminosity-velocity relation. Each lensing galaxy is assumed to be singular isothermal sphere (SIS) with finite cutoff radius. In most simulations, the lensing is mainly due to the single galaxy. But in $\Omega_{gal} = 3$ universe, one out of five simulations have 'collective lensing' event in which more than two galaxies collectively produce multiple images. These cases cannot be incorporated into the simple 'standard' lensing statistics calculations. In cases where 'collective lensing' does not occur, distribution of image separation changes from delta function to bimodal distribution due to shear induced by the surrounding galaxies. The amount of spread in the distribution is from a few $\%\;up\;to\;50\%$ of the mean image separation in case when the galaxy is in the Coma-like cluster or when the galaxy is in the field with $\Omega_{gal} = 0.1\;or\;\Omega_{gal}=0.3.$ The mean of the image separation changes less than $5\%$ compared with a single lens case. Cross section for multiple image lensing turns out to be relatively insensitive to the presence of the neighboring galaxies, changing less than $5\%$ for Coma-like cluster and $\Omega_{gal}=0.1,\;0.3$ universe cases. So we conclude that Coma-like cluster or field galaxies whose total mass density $\Omega_{gal}<0.3$ do not significantly affect the probability of multiple image lensing if we exclude the 'collective lensing' cases. However, the distribution of the image separations can be significantly affected especially if the 'collective lensing' cases are included. Therefore, the effects of surrounding galaxies may not be negligible when statistics of lensing is used to deduce the cosmological informations.
As numerous devices are connected through a wireless network, there exist many studies conducted to efficiently connect the devices. While earlier studies often use clustering for efficient device management, there is a load-intensive cluster node which may lead the entire network to be unstable. In order to solve this problem, we propose a scheduling model for centralized unequal chain clustering for efficient management of sensor nodes. For the cluster configuration, this study is based on the cluster head range and the distance to the base station(BS). The main vector projection technique is used to construct clustering with concentricity where the positions of the base stations are not the same. We utilize a multiple radio access interface, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), for data transmission. Experiments show that cluster head energy consumption is reduced and network lifetime is improved.

This paper proposes a novel channel assignment scheme called multi-cluster based dynamic channel assignment (MC-DCA) to improve system performance for the downlink of dense femtocell networks (DFNs) based on orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) and frequency division duplexing (FDD). In order to dynamically assign channels for femtocell access points (FAPs), the MC-DCA scheme uses a heuristic method that consists of two steps: one is a multiple cluster assignment step to group FAPs using graph coloring algorithm with some extensions, while the other is a dynamic subchannel assignment step to allocate subchannels for maximizing the system capacity. Through simulations, we first find optimum parameters of the multiple FAP clustering to maximize the system capacity and then evaluate system performance in terms of the mean FAP capacity, unsatisfied femtocell user equipment (FUE) probability, and mean FAP power consumption for data transmission based on a given FUE traffic load. As a result, the MC-DCA scheme outperforms other schemes in two different DFN environments for commercial and office buildings.

The results of using principal coordinates prior to cluster analysis are investigated on the samples from multiple binary outcomes. The retrieval ability of the known clustering algorithm is significantly improved by using principal coordinates instead of using the distance directly transformed from four association coefficients for multiple binary variables.
