  • The advancements in the infusion of broadcasting and communication and the radio frequency identification technology have made the next generation mobile communication service technology be recognized as an important technology in many different fields and demanded systems of practical service using the technology. Designed in the study was a multimedia platform that would increase the utilization efficiency of limited frequency resources, which made an important part of the next generation mobile communication technology using the radio frequency identification technology, search for vacant frequencies not generating interfering signals to the old frequency users, and consider the growth of infused and complex services. In order to implement the platform, the investigator applied STI as a research model to maximize the functions of a service system and improve reliability. And also suggested IDMA of information required for platform building to maximize the functions of a service system.

  • In spite of the convenience and cost-effectiveness of an electronic document management system the paper-type documents still should be stored for a comparison against the original documents. In this paper, for the efficient management of paper documents, we designed and implemented a document management system using smart devices equipped with NFC(Near Field Communication) technology. To implement the proposed system we designed a database for document management and developed an Android application for smart device using Eclipse 3.0 and Java programming. Whenever we touch the smart phone on the NFC tags which are attached to the paper-type documents and document boxes, it is possible to registering, searching and carrying in and out services for documents and boxes. This study provides smart phone users with systematic, economical and convenient paper-type documents management functions, and thus enhances the business efficiency.

  • In this paper, the performance analysis for multimedia video codec(MPEG-4, H.264) on on-chip network communication architecture is presented. The On-Chip Network (OCN) is the new communication architecture of multimedia SoC design that overcomes the limits of On-Chip Bus architecture by providing higher data traffic bandwidth, reusability and higher scalability. We compared the performance of MPEG-4, H.264 decoder based on-chip network and AMBA on-chip bus. Experimental results show that the performance of MPEG-4, H.264 based on on-chip network is improved over 33~56% compared to the design based on AMBA on-chip bus.

Reverse Link Characterization of a Spectrally Overlaid Macro/Micro Cellular CDMA System Supporting Multimedia Traffic (멀티미디어 서비스를 위한 스펙트럼 중첩 매크로/마이크로 셀룰러 CDMA 시스템의 역방향 링크 특성)

  • The reverse link of a spectrally overlaid macrocell/microcell cellular CDMA system supporting multimedia traffic is characterized in terms of the required signal power, interference, and capacity. Several narrowband subsystems are overlaid with a wideband subsystem in macrocells, while a single wideband subsystem is operated in a microcell with the same spectrum as the macrocell wideband subsystem. Using a typical propagation model the reverse link signal power and interference are characterized as the relative user signal power and the cross-tier interference factors between the macrocell and the microcell. The reverse link capacity of the overlay system is then analyzed. Analytical results show that the dominant parameters affecting the system performance are the spectral overlay ratio and the distance between the microcell and macrocell base stations. In particular, when the distance equals a half of macrocell radius, optimum performance can be achieved by minimizing the cross-tier interference factors. These results can be applied to CDMA multimedia network planning in heavily populated traffic areas.

  • Along with the development of technology, a variety of multimedia programs are presented in the exhibition. Mixed reality-based technology, such as augmented reality, is also being effectively introduced in the form of an interactive exhibition. In this process, the novelty and the splendor of technology and environment, in the display, can be turned into complex forms, which value is often unappreciated by attenders. The current study realizes the target of display-oriented exhibition environments for augmented reality, and explores the structure of display format, which can minimize the intervention of equipment. The study aims to discuss the structures of multimedia exhibition based on augmented reality and its characteristics.

  • This paper design QHA(quadrifilar helical antenna) to receive efficiently Satellite-Digital Multimedia Broadcasting video signal. It is designed as quadrifilar structure with phase variation $0^{\circ}C$, $90^{\circ}C$, $180^{\circ}C$, $270^{\circ}C$ to obtain circular polarization. Upper gap, turn number and height of QHA are varied to obtain optimization dimensions. Optimization dimensions are gap=2.2mm, turn number=0.9, height=42mm and input reflection coefficient is approximately -5.8dB. Designed QHA can be applied to Satellite-DMB terminal.

  • It is thesis that based on for Croup-Transferring a method of Transferring-Control during real-time. By the development of multimedia, spread of high-speed communication network and generalization of various multimedia services, various techniques an studied by requiring application services for multi-users (meeting-service, remote-service, broadcasting-service, education-service and so on). So we focused on the multimedia group transferring techniques except communication network techniques and multimedia processing techniques, and presented algorithms about a mettled of group-management, a method of delay-control-management that analyzed a effective method of Croup-Control and characters of each group network and used RTP(Real-Time Protocol) / RTCP(Real-Time Control Protocol).

  • Multimedia streaming data is very large in size and accessed sequentially, making the LRU(Least Recently Used) algorithm widely used to improve I/O performance in traditional caching environments ineffective. Experimental analysis of this has shown the superiority of interval-based caching over LRU, but the theoretical basis has not been proven. In this paper, we design a cache performance model to analyze the optimality of caching for multimedia streaming environments and design a theoretically optimal caching algorithm based on interval caching. Then, we show that the algorithm we design is an optimal algorithm that minimizes cache misses of streaming data based on the proposed model.

  • For the implementation of a multimdia cinference applications in a various communication network,the fun-damental conference services are needed.MCS(Multipoint Sdrvices)is remommended for this purpose.In this paper,the related papers are analyzed for the implementation of MCS that is recommended in inter-national standard for a multimedia confernece.Based on this,the algorithm is proposed and implemented in unix machine and Windows/NT machine.

Human Gait Recognition Based on Spatio-Temporal Deep Convolutional Neural Network for Identification

  • Gait recognition can identify people's identity from a long distance, which is very important for improving the intelligence of the monitoring system. Among many human features, gait features have the advantages of being remotely available, robust, and secure. Traditional gait feature extraction, affected by the development of behavior recognition, can only rely on manual feature extraction, which cannot meet the needs of fine gait recognition. The emergence of deep convolutional neural networks has made researchers get rid of complex feature design engineering, and can automatically learn available features through data, which has been widely used. In this paper,conduct feature metric learning in the three-dimensional space by combining the three-dimensional convolution features of the gait sequence and the Siamese structure. This method can capture the information of spatial dimension and time dimension from the continuous periodic gait sequence, and further improve the accuracy and practicability of gait recognition.
