The resource constrained scheduling problem (RCSP) constitutes one of the most challenging problems in Project Management, as it combines multiple parameters, contradicting objectives (project completion within certain deadlines, resource allocation within resource availability margins and with reduced fluctuations), strict constraints (precedence constraints between activities), while its complexity grows with the increase in the number of activities being executed. Due to the large solution space size, this work investigates the application of Genetic Algorithms to approximate the optimal resource alolocation and obtain optimal trade-offs between different project goals. This analysis uses the cost of exceeding the daily resource availability, the cost from the day-by-day resource movement in and out of the site and the cost for using resources day-by-day, to form the objective cost function. The model is applied in different case studies: 1 project consisting of 10 activities, 4 repetitive projects consisting of 40 activities in total and 16 repetitive projects consisting of 160 activities in total, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the algorithm in different-size solution spaces and under alternative optimization criteria by examining the quality of the solution and the required computational time. The case studies 2 & 3 have been developed by building upon the recurrence of the unit/sub-project (10 activities), meaning that the initial problem is multiplied four and sixteen times respectively. The evaluation results indicate that the proposed model can efficiently provide reliable solutions with respect to the individual goals assigned in every case study regardless of the project scale.
Gravel scattering that is generated during operation of high-speed railway vehicle is cause to damage of vehicle such as windows, axle protector and so on. Especially, those are frequently occurred in winter season when snow ice is generated easily. Above all, damage of vehicle windows has not only caused maintenance cost but also increased psychological anxiety of passengers. Various methods such as heating system using copper wire, heating jacket and heating air are applied to remove snow ice generated on the under-body of vehicle. However, the methods require much run-time and man power which can be low effectiveness of work. Therefore, this paper shows that large-area heating system was developed based on heating coat in order to fundamentally prevent snow ice damage on high-speed railway vehicle in the winter season. This system gives users high convenience because that can remotely control the heating system using IoT-based wireless communication. For evaluating the applicability to railroad sites, a field test on an actual high-speed railroad operation was conducted by applying these techniques to the brake cylinder of a high-speed railroad vehicle. From the results, it evaluated how input voltage and electric power per unit area of the heating specimen influences exothermic performance to draw the permit power condition for icing. In the future, if the system developed in the study is applied at the railroad site, it may be used as a technique for preventing all types of damages occurring due to snow ice in winter.

Objectives: This study aimed to develop and validate a model to predict the need for intensive care unit (ICU) admission in patients with dental infections using an automated machine learning (ML) program called H2O-AutoML. Materials and Methods: Two models were created using only the information available at the initial examination. Model 1 was parameterized with only clinical symptoms and blood tests, excluding contrast-enhanced multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) images available at the initial visit, whereas model 2 was created with the addition of the MDCT information to the model 1 parameters. Although model 2 was expected to be superior to model 1, we wanted to independently determine this conclusion. A total of 210 patients who visited the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Dankook University Dental Hospital from March 2013 to August 2023 was included in this study. The patients' demographic characteristics (sex, age, and place of residence), systemic factors (hypertension, diabetes mellitus [DM], kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, anticoagulation therapy, and osteoporosis), local factors (smoking status, site of infection, postoperative wound infection, dysphagia, odynophagia, and trismus), and factors known from initial blood tests were obtained from their medical charts and retrospectively reviewed. Results: The generalized linear model algorithm provided the best diagnostic accuracy, with an area under the receiver operating characteristic values of 0.8289 in model 1 and 0.8415 in model 2. In both models, the C-reactive protein level was the most important variable, followed by DM. Conclusion: This study provides unprecedented data on the use of ML for successful prediction of ICU admission based on initial examination results. These findings will considerably contribute to the development of the field of dentistry, especially oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Until now, the domestic construction market has been formed focusing on new construction and reconstruction in the apartment industry. Recently, however, the remodeling market for old structures have shown a tendency towards land shortage and land price increases in the major cities: the reinforcement of regulations regarding reconstruction; expenditure reduction and the solving of environmental problems by regarding old structures is pursuing low costs and maximum efficiency. The interest in remodeling is increasing, however, remodeling has not been successfully initiated in the apartment division for a reasonable period of time. Consequently to acquire mutual agreement for remodeling from the residential occupants. In order to evaluate profitability, it is necessary to set priorities and reasonable criteria for remodelling and to this end, it is also required to assess each fact of remodelling in view of both customers and supplied. Thus, a sample apartment housing complex was analyzed for geographic location, surrounding environment floor area ratio, site area, number of households, number of stories and unit area and thereupon, its remodelling profitability was analyzed to select an effective remodeling method as an alternative case for apartment house owners and remodelling.
General hospitals have being under the influence of various and specific environment of electromagnetic field. The factors are development of medical electric equipment and device with enlarged functional demands, in high power and multi-frequency. It has all of both faces, EMI(electromagnetic interference) and EMS(electromagnetic susceptibility). In additional, expansion of personal communication system(cellular phone) has many unreliable factor of using time and area, making noise of electromagnetic fields. We studied actual conditions of EMI in the medical site, where is numerous medical equipment, especially central operation room and ICU(intensive care unit), AKR(artificial kidney room : hemo-dialysis unit), etc. The influence, most of medical equipments made electromagnetic nosie has various factors in its band of frequency, harmonics and strength. In the experimental use of electro-surgical unit and cellular phone, noticeable and considerable noise of eletromagnetic fields were measured. All of that can make trouble and errors on the steadiness of bioelectrical devices. In conclusion, It is necessary to reconsiderations of reallocating EMI source vs. EMS factor, and set to definite forbiding area of using cellular phone. For maintenance of steady normal conditions, in spite of existing any other legal standards of safty level, it need considering all of alternative electromagnetic situations on a case-by-case basis.
Townhouse have been developed as alternative housing types for combining the characteristics of detached houses and high-rise apartments, Much research on townhouse have investigated physical environments of townhouse and provide a number of planning factors to be considered. However, these factors do not reflect the residents' experiences of the environments sufficiently. The aim of this research is to investigate residents' satisfactions in townhouse as an exploratory study which can be a basis for the improvement of residential environments in townhouse. First of all, we selected a target townhouse and conducted a field study to examine the existing state of the townhouse. Then a customized questionnaire was developed and distributed to residents in the townhouse for investigating their satisfactions on the residential environment. The questions included are divided into four categories; site environment, unit space, community area and housing management. Through the statistic analyses of the residents' responses, the residents' satisfactions of the residential environment were identified. Especially the residents' satisfaction on the community area, which revitalizes neighborhood relationships, is very high. They were also satisfied with the conditions of the sub-categories, 'a distinctive exterior' 'a private planning', 'outdoors' and 'landscapes', in townhouse. In conclusion, we suggested considerations for the improvement of the residential environments and the quality of life in townhouse.
Regarding 'mate' intake (infusion of Ilex paraguariensis herb, a staple beverage in temperate South American regions), most epidemiologic studies showed positive associations with risk of some cancers, (e.g. upper aerodigestive tract), but evidence on breast cancer (BC) risk is limited to a previous multi-site study, which reported a non significant odds ratio [OR]=0.85, 95% confidence interval [95% CI] 0.67-1.09, p for trend=0.31) for the highest quartile of intake. The present study was conducted in order to further assess associations of 'mate' intake with BC risk. We combined two databases of women belonging to public and private healthcare hospitals. The sample included 572 BC incident cases and 889 controls interviewed with a specific questionnaire featured by socio-demographic, reproductive and lifestyle variables, and a food frequency questionnaire of 64 items, also analyzing 'mate' intake (consumer status, daily intake, age at start, age at quit, duration of habit, intensity of intake). ORs and their 95%CI were calculated through unconditional logistic regression, adjusting for relevant potential confounders. The highest quartile of 'mate' intake was inversely associated with BC risk (OR=0.40, 95%CI 0.26-0.57, p for trend <0.001). Stratified analyses also displayed strong significant inverse associations for 'mate' in frequent tea drinkers (OR=0.22), high energy intake (OR=0.23), high body mass index (OR=0.29) and in postmenopausal women (OR=0.36), among other results. As conclusions, we found evidence of a significant inverse association for 'mate' intake and BC risk.

UNESCO has continued to work in Africa, especially in the six southern sub-Saharan countries, and Asia, where international cooperation is needed. The CLC (Rwanda Community Learning Center) covered in this study aims to create a regional learning center in Rwanda and to recover local communities and provide learning environment. During the course of this study, we conducted field trips for actual planning and reviewed the current state of educational and cultural facilities that recently opened and are operated, and found implications. In consultation with the Rwandan Educational Commission, the site for CLC was decided, the building was designed, and the construction is about to start. The results of this study are as follows. First, in addition to the efforts of the activists in the village, which can be considered the smallest unit of a local community, the approach for establishing an architectural space and active education and community environment can be evaluated as a result of experimental efforts. Second, we can pay attention to the attempts to realize local communities. The bridge business is based on the multi-purposes such as early childhood education, technical education for adults, and community restoration of local residents and it reflects space and program plans for this purposes. It also reflects detailed plans such as differentiating the flow planning depending on users' time of use. Third, we can explain the characteristics of architectural planning considering local characteristics such as active use of local materials. Due to the characteristics of a developing country, there were significant considerations on maintenance, and to this end, the plan included plans for the environment and use of materials that are easily maintained. In addition, the participation of local residents in the process of establishment was suggested as a possibility to serve an educational role.

In this study, problems of the waterproofing methods in which water leakage occurs in the upper slab of the underground parking lot of apartment houses and the requirements considering the characteristics of the upper slab, and selected the appropriate performance(proposal) for the composite polyurea process are reviewed. As a result of the study, it is necessary to review performance such as responsiveness to upper slab of the multi-unit underground parking lot that is comprised of (1) crack and behavior responsiveness, (2) surface integrity, (3) vertical watertight stability, (4) pressure layer construction, (5) impact and pressure response and (6) vehicle moving load. As a result of evaluating 5 items corresponding to the requirements for the soft and hard complex polyurea, all of them were found to meet the conditions, and each materials were improved by compounding the materials that had problems when applying a single-ply method, thereby clarifying the advantages and disadvantages of the material property. However, in order to apply to the actual site, additional evaluation on site applicability such as mock-up evaluation should be conducted, and subsequent studies on the applicability of the market through review of economic feasibility and maintenance is required.
An objective of this study was to provide database for the planting disign of buffer green space. Types, planting structure, and effect of vuffer green space were investigated in five housing complexes of newtown of metropolitan area, Korea. Buffer green space in the study sites were constructed as mounding, slope, and plate. The number of species was found 20 tree and sub-tree species(10 evergreen and 20 deciduous species ) and 13 shrub species. These species were planted in one-storyed planting structure and there was no difference with ornamental species in the urban parks. Effect of sound proof by the buffer green space was recognized but sound level in four types among the seven types was observed above standard sound level for housing complex(65dB). Effect of sound proof was especially most effective in the mounding type. It was found that planting density and index of plant crown volume were mot satisfied to the function of buffer green space because of lower density and crown volume than natural vegetation per unit. Based on these results, this study suggested that buffer green space is desirable to be developed in the mounding type over two meters height with multi-layer planting model. In addition, there is needed to consider vegetation structure of natural forest around the developing site.
