The purpose of this study is an attempt to explore the impact of working environment of visiting instructor on the empowerment for multi-cultural families. In this light, this study aims to provide some inevitable and necessary foundational data for reinforcing the empowerment of visiting instructor in order to essentially improve the quality and effectiveness of this governmental service. To accomplish this goal, this study selected eighteen multi-cultural service centers which locate near to the capital city due to each center serves relatively a large populations of multi-cultural families and took a survey from visiting instructor 286 survey forms. It used SPSS WIN 15.0 program for analyzing data, and the following is a list of tests used in this research: t-test,One-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis. The conclusive consequences from the research are following. In the case of analyzing the difference of empowerment for multi-cultural families, the project showed that the nationality, the forms of religion, the level of education, the number of child, the state of economic made a difference. As this project explored the impact of working environment on job stress, it showed that job characteristics and organizational commitment's compensation system and the development of education negatively effects on job stress. Therefore, as this project investigated how the working environment impacts on the empowerment.

Recently, Korea is facing a trend of a fast-paced change towards a multi-cultural society, accompanied by the consequential increase in population and many changes in the peripheral environment. Particularly, the influx of multi-cultural families in Ansan City is increasing every year, but their housing environment remains in poor conditions. Actually, the research on housing policy for multi-cultural families and their housing satisfaction is restrictive. It is therefore necessary to research on how to overcome this problem, and what realistic policy alternatives are required. The purpose of this study is to present some policy alternatives to improve the housing satisfaction of the Korean-Chinese residing in Ansan City. To this end, this study conducted empirical analysis with a focus on Korea-Chinese multi-cultural families living in Ansan City through a questionnaire. As the analysis method, this study conducted frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, cross analysis, and regression analysis, and used the statistical package-SPSS 20.0 as an analysis tool. As a result of the research, first, it was found that their awareness of the government housing policy is insufficient; second, they had a lot more hardships in housing due to the problem of the rising house prices caused by urban development & regeneration; third, in terms of housing tenure type, there was a higher proportion of a lease on a deposit basis and monthly rent than owner-occupied housing. Hence, this study drew the conclusion that the Korean-Chinese multi-cultural family's housing environment needs to be improved and policy support is required for Korean-Chinese. In addition, this study gives great significance in providing these research results as basic materials which make it possible to inquire into mutually reciprocal practice plan and strategic alternatives for a multi-cultural families from now on.

Korean society has been facing many challenges and promises resulting from the rapid population shifts into multi-cultural and multi-ethnic family composition. Government strived to respond to the impending demands and needs of Korean cultural families, in terms of marriage and birth, caring and educating children, and labor and work. This paper overviews the current state of Korean multicultural trends and facts in terms of family, marriage, children, and work. It also overarches major issues of multicultural studies of family relations and child development. By wrapping the facts and issues in current discourse and studies, pragmatic policy points were provided and condensed into some suggestions for the policy-making and program implementation.

The study aims at understanding current states and problems for multi-cultural families in libraries. The study examined multicultural services in Korean libraries as well as overseas. The study analyzed library services and education problems of multicultural families based on multicultural model, assimilationist model, and differential exclusionary model. The study surveyed multi-cultural services librarians and educators as well as immigrants and children who have participated in multicultural problems, and finally analyzed problems and requirements of programs for multicultural families.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting subjective oral symptoms according to the gender of youth from multi-cultural families in Korea using data from the 14th (2018) Korean Youth Health Behavior Survey. Methods: The independent variables used in this study consisted of gender and sweet drink intake. The dependent variable was experience of subjective oral symptoms. Compensation variables consisted of general characteristics of school type, academic performance, economic status, drinking status, smoking status, and number of tooth brushings day before. The subjects of the study were 835 children of multi-cultural families whose parents were foreigners. All statistical analyses were performed by complex samples cross-tabulation analysis and complex samples logistic regression analysis. Statistical analysis was performed using the PASW statistical package 21.0 (Statistical Packages for Social Science Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). A significance level of 0.05 was used for statistical significance. Results: The composite sample logistic regression analysis showed that there was a statistically significant difference between gender and intake of sweet drinks in experience of subjective oral symptoms. Conclusions: These results suggest that factors influence subjective oral symptoms in Korean multi-cultural adolescents. Therefore, I hope that they will be used as basic data for the introduction and development of a customized oral health education program for improving oral health of multi-cultural adolescents.

The quickening pace of international migration in the last twenty years brought fundamental demographic and social changes to the Korean society. Increasing number of marriage-based immigrant families imposes new challenges on social work community; however, the social work community has not been equipped with necessary practice models, sets of skills and professionals with cultural competency. This study aims to explore an integrative framework of social work practice with this client group. Research foci include the profile of marriage-based immigrant families in Korea, available social services at the time, challenges and issues they face, the compatibility of the empowerment based social work practice, and micro/mezzo/macro level concerns that arise for the effective service provision. Challenges among marriage-based immigrant families are converged into personal/familial, community related, and larger social-cultural issues. Empowerment is a multi-dimensional social process to help people gain control over their lives; a process that fosters power in people, for use in their lives, their communities and in their society. Empowerment based social work practice can be the most competent framework for working with multi-cultural families considering their multi-faceted acculturation issues while they navigate thru Korean society. Issues of educating and training of culturally competent social workers are discussed.

This study proposed an educational program using presidential records to develop the self-esteem of children from multi-cultural families in accordance with the vision of the Presidential Archives-including political, economic, historical, and cultural aspects-to activate programs for the underprivileged. To accomplish this, we performed a literature review of self-esteem-enhancing programs for such children, and compared and analyzed the Presidential Archives' educational programs of the United States and Korea. We also conducted a survey and interviewed teachers who have experienced teaching children from multi-cultural families. Through the process, this study proposed an educational program for such children to develop their self-esteem.

Level-Based Education is necessary for the multi-cultural learners because they tend to have the academic underachievement and learning deficiency that cause the huge educational gap. However, it is very hard to make the best of competence for the multi-cultural learners in the classroom. So, it is needed to suggest how we can use the educational contents that are appropriate for the Level-Based Learning and Individual Learning to make good use of teaching the learners from multi-cultural families. However, developing the new educational contents takes much time and cost, we have to improve existing contents for the student from multi-cultural families to use it. Hence, the purpose of this thesis is to develop the educational appropriateness evaluation scale to verify the educational contents that are for the multi-cultural students based on the educational content's evaluation tool, so by developing the scale, I intend to evaluate the 4~6 grades' Korean contents of the E-learning service and provide the ways of improvement.

As cultural diversity has gained a great deal of attention and the social fabric of Korean society is redefined, the number of studies on multi-cultural family homes has been growing in the area of human ecology, but relevant research is rarely found on the subject of housing. While the emphasis of housing research is on multidisciplinary approaches and empirical research is highly valued, a theoretical and methodological platform for discussing the new rising agenda of multi-cultural family homes is lacking. The purpose of this study was to explore approaches to and to discuss the issues in research for multi-cultural family homes in terms of housing theories and multidisciplinary approaches. To understand the housing related needs of multi-cultural families, this study highlights social constructionism, the ecological perspective, and feminist epistemology. These three multidisciplinary approaches were useful for generating an ontological analysis of multi-cultural family homes. Further, this study highlights two housing related theories, the microsociological and housing pathways approaches, for dealing with multi-cultural family homes. In conclusion, the five approaches were useful for exploring issues in housing research on multi-cultural family homes with appropriate research methods like hermeneutics, quantitative, and qualitative methods, and field research. Insights into using perspectives and holistic approaches might be useful for solving the problems of multi-cultural family homes in Korea.

The phenomenon of international migration since the 1980s comes to be born 'multi-cultural families support law' due to the foreign workers' inflow into labor market and to a rise in married female immigrants caused by globalization and diversification. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to examine who are participants? given being led to the enactment of 'multi-cultural families support law' by which the social issue called multi-cultural family is highlighted as the public agenda. Also, the mobilization will be selected and explained among three types in mobilization model, outside initiative model, and inside access model in the process of driving by confirming it as the government's formal agenda out of social issues. With having the case characteristics in mind, the aim is to research by choosing a case analysis method that uses research theses & books, newspaper, daily newspaper, election pledges, civic group, internet, and seminar data based on the existing theory and model. The temporal scope is limited to the one from the time as saying "revise the Overseas Korean Act of opposing the banishment of migrant workers" in November 2003 to February 2008 when 'multi-cultural families support bill(alternative plan)' is legislated with agreement by the 7th plenary session for the 271th provisional session of the National Assembly.
