  • In this paper, we present a new cぉnet coding method, so called MLC (Multi-Level Codes), for error detection and correction in digital wireless communication. MLC coding method we the same coding procedure wed in the convolutional coding but it is distinguished from the existing convolutional coding in point of generating the code word by using multi-level information data (M-ary signal) and in point of speed of coding procedure Through computer simulation, we analyze the performance of the coding method suggested here compared to convolutional coding method in case of modulo-operation and in case of non-binary coding Procedure respectively under various channel environments.

  • In this Paper, we discuss reducing the number of orthogonal code in Multi-Code CDMA (MC-CDMA) system. MC-CDMA system is highlighted for multi-media communication services, but conventional MC-CDMA(CMC-CDMA) system are needed many more orthogonal codes compared to traditional direct sequence CDMA(DS-CDMA) systems. in this paper, we propose the system which can reduce the number of orthogonal codes using sub-orthogonal code(SOC) technique. We certificate that the performance of the proposed system shows the almost same result under gaussian noise environment as compared to CMC-CDMA system through Monte-Curio computer simulation method.

  • Since the publication of Alamouti's famous space-time block code, various quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes (QSTBC) for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) fading channels for more than two transmit antennas have been proposed. It has been shown that these codes cannot achieve full diversity at full rate. In this paper, we present a simple feedback scheme for rich scattering (flat Rayleigh fading) MIMO channels that improves the coding gain and diversity of a QSTBC for 2$^n$ (n=3, 4, ${\cdots}$) transmit antennas. The relevant channel state information is sent back from the receiver to the transmitter quantized to one or two bits per code block. In this way, signal transmission with an improved coding gain and diversity near to the maximum diversity order is achieved. Such high diversity can be exploited with either a maximum-likelihood receiver or low-complexity zero-forcing receiver.

  • Successive cancellation (SC) decoding that is one of the decoding algorithms for polar codes has long decoding latency and low throughput because of the nature of successive decoding. To reduce the latency and increase the throughput, various decoding structures for polar codes are presented. In this paper, we compare the previous decoding structures and analyze them by dividing into two types, pruning and multi-path decoders. Decoders for applying pruning are representative of SSC (simplified SC), Fast-SSC and redundant-LLR structures, and decoders with multi-path are representative of 2-bit SC and redundant-LLR structures. All the previous structures are compared in terms decoding latency and hardware area, and according to the comparison, the syndrome check based decoder has the lowest latency and redundant-LLR decoder has the highest hardware efficiency.

  • For large capacity optical CDMA networks, we propose a shared-type encoder/decoder based on an tunable wavelength conveter (TWC) and an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) router. Feasibility of the structure of the proposed encoder/decoder for dynamic code allocation is tested through simulations using three types of wavelength/time 2-D codes, which are the generalized multi-wavelength prime code(GMWPC), the generalized multi-wavelength Reed-Solomon code(GMWRSC) and the matrix code. Test results show that the proposed encoder/decoder can increase the channel efficiency not only by increasing the number of simultaneous users without any multiple-access interference but by using a relatively short length CDMA codes.

  • In this paper, we propose an LDPC-coded hybrid ARQ system using incremental redundancy and retransmission of a part of the transmitted packets. We also present a simple criterion for choosing two methods to support a desired throughput efficiently. Furthermore, we show that the throughput performance can be improved when multi-edge type LDPC codes with the structure of Raptor codes are employed for a hybrid ARQ scheme.

  • We propose a new encoder/decoders based on an tune able wavelength converter(TWC) and an arrayed waveguide grating(AWG) router for large capacity optical CDMA networks. The proposed encoder/decoder treats codewords of wavelength/time 2-D code simultaneously using the dynamic code allocation property of the TWC and the cyclic property of the AWG router, and multiple subscribers can share the encoder/decoder in networks. Feasibility of the structure of the proposed encoder/decoder for dynamic code allocation is tested through simulations using two wavelength/time 2-D codes, which are the generalized multi-wavelength prime code(GMWPC) and the generalized multi-wavelength Reed-Solomon code(GMWRSC). Test results show that the proposed encoder/decoder can increase the channel efficiency not only by increasing the number of simultaneous users without any multiple-access interference but by using a relatively short length CDMA codes.

  • Multi-Code CDMA (MC-CDMA) can not only be integrated easily with a conventional system, but also achieve good spectral efficiency and high processing gain. However, it suffers from high value of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper, we propose the Multi-Phase CDMA (MP-CDMA) system that can provide variable rate service and is not susceptible to the non-linear characteristics of amplifier. The clipping is introduced between at the output of multi-code modulator and at the input of MPSK modulator in order to improve the performance of MPSK chip demodulator and reduce the system complexity, The system performances are compared for the different Number of codes and different clipping levels, respectively. The optimum clipping level is also evaluated for the different number of codes in both, AWGN and frequency flat fading channel.

  • A multi-dimensional thermal-hydraulic system analysis code, MARS 1.3.1, has been developed in order to have the realistic analysis capability of two-phase thermal-hydraulic transients for pressurized water reactor (PWR) plants. As the backbones for the MARS code, the RELAP5/MOD3.2.1.2 and COBRA-TF codes were adopted in order to take advantages of the very general, versatile features of RELAP5 and the realistic three-dimensional hydrodynamic module of COBRA-TF. In the MARS code, all the functional modules of the two codes were unified into a single code first. Then, the source codes were converted into the standard Fortran 90, and then they were restructured using a modular data structure based on "derived type variables" and a new "dynamic memory allocation" scheme. In addition, the Windows features were implemented to improve user friendliness. This paper presents the developmental work of the MARS version 1.3.1 including the hydrodynamic model unification, the heat structure coupling, the code restructuring and modernization, and their verifications.their verifications.

  • Multi-way relay networks (MWRNs) allow multiple users to exchange information with each other through a single relay terminal. MWRNs are often incorporated with capacity achieving lattice codes to enable the benefits of high-rate signal constellations to be extracted. In this paper, we analytically characterize the symbol error rate (SER) performance of a functional decode and forward (FDF) MWRN in the presence of channel estimation errors. Considering M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) with square constellations as an important special case of lattice codes, we obtain asymptotic expressions for the average SER for a user in FDF MWRN. The accuracy of the analysis at high signal-to-noise ratio is validated by comparison with the simulation results. The analysis shows that when a user decodes other users with better channel conditions than itself, the decoding user experiences better error performance. The analytical results allow system designers to accurately assess the non-trivial impact of channel estimation errors and the users' channel conditions on the SER performance of a FDF MWRN with M-QAM modulation.
