Study on CFD Methodology for a Open Channel Type UV Reactor (전산유체역학을 활용한 개수로형 UV소독장비의 해석기법 연구)

  • The performance of UV reactor which is used in water treatment is strongly affected by UV fluence rate and water flow in the UV reactor. Therefore, CFD tools are widely used in designing process of UV reactors. This paper describes the development of a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methodology that can be used to calculate the performance of open channel type UV reactor used in wastewater treatment plant. All computations were performed using commercial CFD code, CFX, by considering three dimensional, steady, incompressible flow. The Eulerian-Eulerian multi-phase method were used to capture the water-air interface. The MSSS model, provided by UVCalc3D, was used to calculate the UV intensity field. The numerical predictions and calculated UV Dose were compared with experimental dataset to validate the CFD methodology. The reactor performance based on MS2 log reduction was well matched with measurements within 6%.

  • Among the methods of developing tourist spots and culture as the experience contents, it is a common method to display high-quality video images on a large display, and it is necessary to make a special difference between the participant's active participation and the visual experience in other regions. In this paper, using the single molecular OLED and active type, the regional tourist spots blend transparent OLED dual-layer display systems with the extended image implementation and augmented interaction techniques to give the participants a real-world experience, such as directing to new experiences and beautiful sights. In this paper, additional images and UI layers are applied to the layers of the images to allow visitors to experience sightseeing information, weather, maps, accommodations, festivals and photo materials with image. In addition to the dual-layer system, it also added a multi-display system that additionally has one vertical 55-inch display on each side, adding to the experience the immersive experience and interface interlocking fun. By using transparent OLED, dual layer panel and 3-channel Multi-image playback technique, the augmented type experience contents which can experience the local attractions in Jeollanamdo province in Korea at all time without any limitation of time and space were developed.

  • Lockscreen is one of the most frequently encountered interfaces by smartphone users. Although users perform unlocking actions every day, there are no benefits in using lockscreens apart from security and authentication purposes. In this paper, we replace the traditional lockscreen with an application that analyzes facial expressions in order to collect facial expression data and provide real-time feedback to users. To evaluate this concept, we have implemented Quantified Lockscreen application, supporting the following contributions of this paper: 1) an unobtrusive interface for collecting facial expression data and evaluating emotional patterns, 2) an improvement in accuracy of facial expression detection through a personalized machine learning process, and 3) an enhancement of the validity of emotion data through bidirectional, multi-channel and multi-input methodology.

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of a data acquisition system with a large number of multi-channels for manufacturing machine. The system having a throughput of 800-ch analog signals has been designed with Quartus II tool and Cyclone II FPGA. The proposed system is suitable for the large scale data handling in order to distinguish whether the operation is correct or not. The designed system is composed of a control unit, voltage divider and USB interface. To reduce the data throughput, we utilized an algorithm which can extract the same data from the achieved data. The test results of the system adapted to a manufacturing machine, show a relevant data acquisition operation of 800 channels in short time.

  • In this paper we study the use of polyinstantiation for spatial data, for the purpose of solving cover in topology channel in multilevel secure spatial database systems. Spatial database system with topological structure has a number of spatial analysis function using spatial data and neighbored one\`s each other. But. it has problems that information flow is occurred by topological relationship in spatial database systems. Geographic Information System(CIS) must be needed mandatory access control because there ,are many information flow through positioning information And topological relationship between spatial objects. Moreover, most GIS applications also graphe user interface(GUI). In addressing these problems, we design the MLS/SRDM(Multi Level Security/Spatial Relational Data Model) and propose polyinstantiation for spatial data for solving information flow that occurred by toplogical relationship of spatial data.

Vowel Classification of Imagined Speech in an Electroencephalogram using the Deep Belief Network (Deep Belief Network를 이용한 뇌파의 음성 상상 모음 분류)

  • In this paper, we found the usefulness of the deep belief network (DBN) in the fields of brain-computer interface (BCI), especially in relation to imagined speech. In recent years, the growth of interest in the BCI field has led to the development of a number of useful applications, such as robot control, game interfaces, exoskeleton limbs, and so on. However, while imagined speech, which could be used for communication or military purpose devices, is one of the most exciting BCI applications, there are some problems in implementing the system. In the previous paper, we already handled some of the issues of imagined speech when using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), although it required complementation for multi class classification problems. In view of this point, this paper could provide a suitable solution for vowel classification for imagined speech. We used the DBN algorithm, which is known as a deep learning algorithm for multi-class vowel classification, and selected four vowel pronunciations:, /a/, /i/, /o/, /u/ from IPA. For the experiment, we obtained the required 32 channel raw electroencephalogram (EEG) data from three male subjects, and electrodes were placed on the scalp of the frontal lobe and both temporal lobes which are related to thinking and verbal function. Eigenvalues of the covariance matrix of the EEG data were used as the feature vector of each vowel. In the analysis, we provided the classification results of the back propagation artificial neural network (BP-ANN) for making a comparison with DBN. As a result, the classification results from the BP-ANN were 52.04%, and the DBN was 87.96%. This means the DBN showed 35.92% better classification results in multi class imagined speech classification. In addition, the DBN spent much less time in whole computation time. In conclusion, the DBN algorithm is efficient in BCI system implementation.

Digital Down Converter System improving the computational complexity (복잡도를 개선한 Digital Down Converter 시스템)

  • Multi-standard, multi-band, multi-service system to ensure a flexible interface between the SDR (Software Defined Radio) technology for the implementation of the Stability and Low-Power, Low-Calcualrion DDC (Digital Down Conversion) technology is essential. DDC technology consists of a digital channel filter. This is a typical digital filter because of the limited fisheries are vulnerable to overflow and rounding errors are drawbacks. In this paper, we overcome this disadvantage, we propose the structure of the DDC. The way WDF (Wave Digital Filter) Structural rounding error due to the structural resistance to noise. Therefore, This is the useful structure when the filter coefficients's word length is short. In addition, since IIR filters based on FIR filters based on the amount of computation is reduced because fewer than filter's tap. The proposed structure is used in DDC that CIC (Cascaded Integrator Comb) filter, WDF, IFOP (Interpolated Fourth-Order Polynomials) were analyzed with respect to, the results were confirmed by computer simulation.

Design and Implementation of the Multi-Mode Mobile Broadcasting EWS Encoding and Decoding Systems (멀티모드 이동 방송용 EWS(Emergency Warning System) 송·수신 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of a multi-mode mobile broadcasting Emergency Warning System (EWS) transmission and reception system which enables the propagation of disaster information using the encoding and transmission, reception and decoding methods specified in diverse mobile broadcasting standards. The implemented system supports global mobile broadcasting standards such as Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (T-DMB), Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H), Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial (ISDB-T), and the Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) digital radio standard. The system consists of two key part: an encoding/transmission part and a reception/decoding part. The multi-mode mobile broadcasting EWS encoding and transmission system generates EWS data according to each broadcasting specification. The generated EWS data is then transmitted through a channel interface which meets the commercial broadcasting equipment specification. The receiver system receives and decodes the EWS data on a single hardware platform and can display the results on screen. Verification and conformity testing has been carried out on the implemented system by transmitting emergency data for each mode in real-time and displaying the received information in text on the receiver display.

Technical Development of Interactive Game Interface Using Multi-Channel EMG Signal (다채널 근전도 신호를 이용한 체감형 게임 인터페이스 개발)

  • In this paper, we developed the device for an interactive game interface using bio signals which were able to recognize user's motion intention using EMG signals and it was applied to the games which need the information of the muscle motion directions. The module for acquiring EMG signals consists of 4-Ch, wrist-motions were defined as up, right, down and left state. The user's intent was recognized through thresholding and comparing signals of each channel. The classification result of the motion directions could control the arrow keys on the keyboard of PC and it was applied on the various games. This proposed game device can be expected to induce an effective exercise with an interesting and enjoyment, and it can use both self-developed or commercial games.

  • In this paper, we have developed the multiple channel measurement system for IC Socket Test. The one can test the current-voltage measurements for pitting the several device specification, which analyze the thin current from several ㎂ to 5A with very low resistor mΩ. The increasement of the IC socket channel with lead pitch under 0.25 mm be need to perform several functions, concurrently. The system to perform these functions be designed to integrate several SMU(source measure unit) on board. So, we can reduce the 2 minutes test time per channel point to 40 sec, with daisy chain test method. Using by graphic interface, I-V curve mode and data logging technologies, we can implement the test flow methods and can make economies the time and cost.
