In order to promote and comprehend marriage immigrants' culture, it is essential to understand the life of their families in their counties. For this study, data by a Philippine CFO(Commission on Filipino Overseas) has been analyzed, and the study researcher has attended an educational program run by the PDOS(Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar). Also, in order to understand the immigrants' families in their country, interviews have been done with some of the CFO employees, people arranged to immigrate to Korea through marriage, and female immigrants who are married. First, Filipino females have a positive attitude toward marriage with a foreign male. Most immigrants are from the rural parts of their country, and their families tend to rely on their daughters more than their sons. Therefore, they decide to marry Korean males and immigrate in order to support their families. However many of them do not have enough information about Korea. Second, Philippine's family system is of bilateral kinship, and traditionally, men and women are treated equally. Therefore, Filipino females tend to be well-educated, outgoing, and vibrant. Thus, they can create an active role in married life for themselves and support their family members. Lastly, based on videos and class materials on the topic of domestic violence that are used in the pre-educational programs for females planning to immigrate to Korea, the content of the program is to be revised.

This study intended to present a new direction of differentiated and innovative furniture design for small living space overcoming the uniformity of conventional small living. In order to achieve these goals, a new piece of furniture with multi functions useful for such small space has been designed and explained in this study. This new type multi-functional furniture can be utilized as kitchen, dining table, home bar or office stand depending on the user's necessity. In particular, it provides more adaptability to changing life and spatial availabilities for small living space in terms of space division, separation and fusion features. Based on the needs of small living space brought by social changes, the conventional concept of small living space, which divides space by partitions or walls, should be changed into flexible perception of space. Also, this research proposed the features of furniture design for functional shifts in terms of its functional, structural, and systematical aspects. In this respect, space can be regarded as a variable place and the image of space can be differently appreciated by means of shift, functional transition and mobility. That is, small living space can be perceived as kitchen, living space or working space at the same time. In conclusion, the versatile use of limited space can be a solution to the issues related to small living space; the convertible and movable furniture called F4 Island presented in this study can transform such spatially limited space into a space with multiple functions to meet the requirements of its residents.

There have been more demands for the culture and leisure activity services in the industry friendly to older adults. Of these culture and leisure activities, the activity of their watching TV programs and online media content has been on the increase. High-resolution display devices have become popular and are cheaper than before, and hardware for realizing multi-dimensional images can be easily configured. However, it is not easy to view high-resolution multi-dimensional images that reflect the physical and mental characteristics of the elderly. It is expected that the results of this study contributes to developing a variety of content for older adults' culture and leisure activities with the use of reality image technology and promoting the industry friendly to older adults by developing.

In this study, in-depth interviews with Hanbok experts on the development direction of the Hanbok culture industry were performed to listen to professional and future-oriented opinions for the development of Hanbok culture and the Hanbok industry. Interviews were conducted with 12 experts to identify the perception of the Hanbok culture industry and to confirm the possibility of sustainable development of Hanbok as a global culture. First, the results of this study should be preceded by the establishment of concepts such as traditional Hanbok, daily Hanbok, fusion Hanbok, and new Hanbok, and design, education, and government support suitable for each field are required. Second, the responsible craftsmanship of the Hanbok industry, the development of Hanbok design with the aesthetics and convenience of Hanbok designers, multi-dimensional research with high academic use, and systematic support for various Hanbok-related programs and events by the government are needed. Third, the government should promote and actively wear Hanbok through various media to revitalize the Hanbok culture, such as establishing a Hanbok wearing day, reviving etiquette education in school, and providing local-based Hanbok wearing experience education. Fourth, in order to cultivate professional manpower, detailed Hanbok education by field is necessary, and specialized education tools, such as distribution, VMD, and stylist are proposed.

The fabrication and experimentation of multi-channel electrodes which enable detecting and recording of multi-site neuronal signals have been investigated. A multi-channel electrode array was fabricated by depositing 2000${\AA}$ thick Au layer on the 1000${\AA}$ thick Ti adhesion layer on a glass wafer. The metal paths were patterned by wet etching and passivated by depositing a PECVD silicon nitride insulation layer to prevent signals from intermixing or cross-talking. After placing a thin slice of rat cerebellar granule cell in the culture ring located in central portion of the multi-channel electrode plate, a neuronal signal from an electrode which is in contact with the cerebellar granule cell has been detected. It was found that the electrode impedance ranges 200㏀∼1㏁ and the impedance is not changed by cleaning with nitric acid. Also, the impedance is inversely proportion to the exposed electrode area and the cross-talk is negligible when the electrode spacing is bigger than 600$\mu\textrm{m}$. The amplitude and frequency of the measured action potential were 38㎷ and 2㎑, which are typical values. From the experimental results, the fabricated multi-channel electrode array proved to be suitable for multi-site neuronal signal detection for the analysis of a complicated cell network.

This study examined the resilience factors of multi-cultural families using depth interviews. Thirty-one multi-cultural families(totaling 98 individuals) were interviewed on a range of issues, including the process of marriage, the attitude of international marriage, family relations, social networks, the process of social adaptation, and their needs for specific social services. The resilience theory was used to categorize resilience factors, multi-cultural families. Analysis of results from depth interviews identified three broad resilience factors. The first was related to for belief systems which included 'family's common goal', The second was related to family functioning systems which included 'family cohesion', 'family adaptability', and 'satisfaction for role-expectation'. The third was related to social networking which included 'satisfaction from social activities'. These resilience factors helped multi-cultural families cope with stressful events and risk situations related to every day life. Results from this study imply that multi-cultural families possess the abilities to lead a meaningful and healthy life-style regardless of obstacles such as communication difficulties, cultural differences, and societal stigma.

This paper analyzes the life and culture contents of the primary Korean textbook for female marriage immigrants and investigates ways to improve the textbook organization in future. The study results are as follows: 1. The textbook must reflect the demands of female marriage immigrants as learners that need to adapt to Korean society. 2. The textbook needs to adopt a circulating disposition in organizing such life and culture contents that female marriage immigrants can obtain and utilize while living in diverse life environments 3. The textbook should also provide multi-cultural elements in order to help female marriage immigrants with the internalization of the complex identity between their home countries and Korea.

Applying the globalization theory to the fashion phenomena which regarded the phenomena of the contemporary culture as globalization, this study had an object of looking into the globalization tendency of the fashion phenomena shown Paris, London, Milno, New York, Tokyo, and Seoul collections from 1995 to 1999. The results of this study were as follows; 1. It was the blend of romanticism that was the most common trend shown at the six world collections. 2. The works appeared at the six world collections showed the regional peculiarity under the historical background or the sociocultural influence each city had. 3. Another character appeared at the six city collections was the appearance of multi-ethnic style mixed various regional motive at a work. After all, the world fashion phenomena in the second half of 1990's could be condensed into globalization appeared homogenization, regionalization and hybridization at the same time.

Using semiotic analysis, visual images in selected postmodern fashion advertisements were analyzed. Semiotics is the study of the structure of the meanings of signs. Semiotic analysis involves deconstruction, and thus draws on the researcher’s value-mediated introspection and subjective interpretation of texts i.e., ads). Through deconstruction, culturally assigned meanings, which represent consumers and culture, were revealed. Postmodern characteristics including open interpretation, use of the human body as an object, multi page format, new mood, black and white scenes, use of real people, and new ideology were identified in the ads. The importance of analyzing visual images in fashion ads was stressed in the findings of the study, as was the importance of educating consumers on how to read the visual images.
