Performance Improvement of Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA System using Hybrid SC/MRC-Lc/L Diversity Received Technique (Multi-Carrier: DS-CDMA 시스템에서의 하이브리드 SC/MRC-Lc/L 다이버시티 수신 기법을 이용한 성능 개선)

  • In this paper, we have considered the performance improvement of Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system using hybrid SC/MRC-Lc/L diversity receiving technique over multipath fading environment and compared with that of a Wideband DS-CDMA system. In the result, the PBI has caused a performance deterioration over partial bandwidth in Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system. Also, Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system using Hybrid SC/MRC-Lc/L diversity received can determined the complexity and the performance vs the expenses for the system that select the number of input branches.

  • ALOHA Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA systems in the multipath Rayleigh fading channel. The throughput of two systems are compared according to the length of a packet in the fast Rayleigh and the slow Rayleigh multipath fading. As a result, we have known that Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system has less capacity than wideband DS-CDMA system in the same bandwidth, but throughput of Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system is higher than that of wideband DS-CDMA system. And in Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA systems, higher throughput can be obtained through shortening the length of packet in the fast Rayleigh fading, and it is efficient to control the length of a packet adequately or increase the system capacity of Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system in the slow Rayleigh fading.

  • In this paper, throughput is derived for slotted ALOHA wideband DS-CDMA and slotted ALOHA Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA systems in the multipath Rayleigh fading channel. The throughput of two systems are compared according to the length of a packet in the fast Rayleigh and the slow Rayleigh multipath fading. As a result, we have known that Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system has less capacity than wideband DS-CDMA system in the same bandwidth, but throughput of Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system is higher than that of wideband DS-CDMA system.   • In this paper, it is analyzed that the error performance of a Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system in a single cell with multipath Rician fading and multiple access interference (MAI) and the error performance of the system is compared with that of a Sing1e-Carrier DS-CDMA system. Moreover, the convolutional coding techniques with code rate of 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 are adopted in order to improve the error performance degraded by the multipath fading and MAI and performance improvement through the coding techniques is analyzed. As a result, it is shown that the number of users in each system can be determined by the number of branches of the rake receiver in a Single-Carrier DS-CDMA system and the number of carriers in a Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system. Furthermore, the convolutional coding should be chosen with considering the trade-off between coding gain and a power limitation in a Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system. In case of increasing the number of carriers, the processing gain is decreased but the error performance is improved through the effect of frequency diversity and the system can be possibility implemented due to the low chip rate.

  • 본 논문에서는 부분대역간섭 (PBI : Partial Band Interference)이 존재하는 다중경로 페이딩 환경에서 하이브리드 SC/MRC-Lc/L 다이버시티 수신 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템의 성능을 알아보고, 광대역 DS-CDMA 시스템과 비교 분석하였다. 결과적으로 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템에서 부분대역간섭에 대한 영향은 성능 열화정도가 전체 주파수 대역 중 일부대역에서만 받기 때문에 광대역 DS-CDMA 시스템보다는 심각하지 않았다. 또한, 하이브리드 SC/MRC-Lc/L 다이버시티 수신 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템은 입력 다이버시티 가지의 수를 적절히 선택함으로서 시스템의 복잡성과 성능 대 비용을 결정할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, the performance of a Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system with Hybrid $SC/MRC- L_{c}/L$ diversity in the multipath Rayleigh fading environment is analyzed and compared with that of a Wideband DS-CDMA system. Each carriers of the number of the input diversity branches in the Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system is L and among L, the branches of $L_c$ are chosen to be maximum-ratio-combined. And the diversity outputs are coherent-detected and despread by the correlator of each carrier. As the result, we have known that the structure of the Wideband DS-CDMA system with Hybrid $SC/MRC-L_{c}/L$ diversity reception becomes simple due to no synchronization of bit or phase and in terms of the error performance, the performance of Hybrid $SC/MRC- L_{c}/L$ diversity is better than that of selection diversity, but worse than that of MRC diversity. Moreover, the performance of a Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system is better than that of a Wideband DS-CDMA system in multipath Rayleigh fading channel since Hybrid $SC/MRC- L_c/L$ diversity can obtain gain from each diversity branch. In case four carriers are used and required BER is $10^{-6}$ in wireless data communication, Hybrid SC/MRC-2/4 diversity can increase more 17 users than Hybrid SC/MRC-2/3 diversity because the better input branches can be selected through increase of input branches.

  • In this paper proposes a multi-carrier MFSK-DPSK/DS-CDMA combined modulation techniques in Nakagami fading environment. Also, multi-carrier DS-CDMA combined system is a promising technique for mobile communications systems, since it has a strong immunity to multipath fading and increasing bandwidth efficiency. The modulations under consideration are noncoherent M-ary frequency shift keying (MFSK)and an MFSK based joint frequency phase modulation utilizing differential phase shift keying (DPSK). With the result, performance improvement of power efficiency and bandwidth efficiency combined system in multi-carrier MFSK-DPSK/DS-CDMA are better then conventional communication system.

  • 본 논문에서는 Hybrid $SC/MRC-{L_c}/L$ 다이버시티 수신 기법과 콘볼루션 부호화 기법을 각각 또는 함께 이용할 때의 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA시스템의 성능 개선을 구하였다. 우선 다중경로 페이딩 및 다중접속간섭의 영향을 분석하고, 두 기법에 의한 성능 개선 정도를 구하여 비교, 분석하였다. Hybrid SC/MRC-Lc/L 수신에서는 각각의 반송파에 대하여 상관을 취하고 상관기 출력들 중에서 가장 큰 신호성분을 {$L_c}$개 만큼 선택하여 최대비 합성하며, 콘볼루션 부호화는 다중경로 다중경로 페이딩 및 다중접속간섭에 의하여 발생된 오류를 정정 및 검출한다. 분석 결과, 콘볼루션 부호화 기법을 채용함으로서 성능이 현저하게 개선되는데, 보호이득과 전력제한 사이에 trade off를 고려하여 부호화 율 (r)을 선택할 필요가 있다는 것과 하이브리드 $SC/MRC-{L_c}/L$ 수신에서는 입력 다이버시티 가지의 수 (L)가 많을수록 선택의 폭이 넓어지며, 적절한 숫자의 다이버시티 가지의 선택이 시스템의 복잡성과 성능 대 배용 등을 결정한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • A Multicarrier system required a lower speed paralled-type of signal processing in contrast to a fast serial processing in a single carrier CDMA system. For the analysis we evaluate MC-CDMA system performance with that of a single-carrier CDMA system and a multi-carrier CDMA system based on the various jamming conditions. Also we studied to the capacity level against the threat environment through the performance comparison in commercial CDMA system and Limiting repeater system. as a result we found that M-CDMA system has a robustness to narrowband interference and multipath environments like as a Rayleigh fading.
