Multi-Agent based Negotiation Support Systems for Order based Manufacturers

  • In this research, we developed a Multi-Agent based Negotiation Support System to be able to increase the competitive power of a company in dynamic environment and correspond to various orders of customers by diffusion of electronic commerce. The system uses the agent technology that is being embossed as new paradigm in dynamic environment and flexible system framework. The multi-agent technology is used to solve these problem through cooperation of agent. The system consists of six sub agents: mediator, manufacturability analysis agent, process planning agent, scheduling agent, selection agent, negotiation-strategy building agent. In this paper, the proposed Multi-Agent based Negotiation Support System takes aim at the automation of transaction process from ordering to manufacturing plan through the automation of negotiation that is the most important in order-taking transaction.

  • A multi-agent technology has emerged as a new paradigm that can flexibly and promptly cope with various environmental changes and complex problems. Accordingly, many researches are being made to establish multi-agent systems in an effort to solve dynamic problems in many fields. However, most previous researches on the multi-agent frameworks aimed at, on behalf of a user, exchanging and sharing information between agents, reusing agents, and suggesting job cooperation in order to integrate and assimilate heterogeneous agents. That is to say, their frameworks mainly focused on the basic functions of general multi-agent. Therefore, they are not suitable to the development of the proper system for a specific field such ,.s a negotiation. In an effort to solve this problem, this research has tried to design a multi-agent framework-base negotiation system, so that for the sake of a user it can evaluate the negotiation messages, manage the negotiation messages, and quickly and exactly exchange messages between negotiation agents. First of all, we have made research on the basic functions hat are necessary in the development of a negotiation system, and then have analyzed the limitations of existing multi-agent frameworks when trying to apply them to a negotiation system. After these efforts, this study suggests a design of multi-agent framework to develop a negotiation system.

  • Negotiation is a process of reaching an agreement on the terms of a transaction. such as price, quantity, for two or more parties. Negotiation tries to maximize the benefits for all parties concerned. instead of using human-based negotiation. the e-commerce environment provides such an environment as adopting automated negotiation. Thus. choosing agent technology is appropriate for an automatic electronic negotiation platform. since autonomous software agents strive for the best deal on behalf of the human participants. Negotiation agents need a clear-cut definition of negotiation models or strategies. In reality, most bargaining systems embody nearly one negotiation model. In this article. we present a mobile agent negotiation system with reusable negotiation strategies that allows agents to dynamically embody a user's favorite negotiation strategy which can be preinstalled as a component in the system. We develop a prototype system, which is fully implemented in compliance with FIPA specifications, and then. describe the benefits of using the system.

  • 전자상거래의 확산에 따른 환경변화 속에서 다품종소량 생산하는 주문제조업체들이 다양한 고객들의 주문에 대응하고, 동적으로 변화하는 내 외적 기업환경 속에서 경쟁력을 제고시키기 위해 본 연구에서는 멀티에이전트 기반 협상지원시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 동적으로 변하는 환경과 고객들의 주문에 대응하고, 유연한 시스템구조를 이루는데 있어 새로운 패러다임으로 부각되고 있는 에이전트 기술을 사용하였다. 또한, 에이전트간의 협업을 통해 문제를 해결할 수 있는 멀티에이전트 기술을 사용하였다 본 연구에서 제시한 멀티에이전트 기반 협상지원시스템은 주문제조업체에서 가장 중요한 거래활동인 협상의 자동화를 통해 주문에서부터 생산에 이르는 일련의 모든 거래활동을 자동화하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

  • The rapid expansion of the Internet-related technology has changed the current commercial transaction process. In the physical commercial transaction, most deals are accomplished through the negotiation process except a fixed price system. Thus, the negotiation is essential to conclude the business transactions. Especially, under the e-commerce environment, an automated negotiation system is necessary to respond quickly and flexibly to the diverse environmental changes and also to perform negotiations consistently and effectively. To this end, we develop an automated negotiation system using multi-agent technology. This new system includes such functions as creating negotiation proposals automatically, evaluating the counterpart’ proposals, and preparing counter offers.

  • 인간의 협동적인 활동에서 협상은 협동적인 행위를 방해할 수 있는 충돌을 해결하는데 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 이를 위해 멀티 에이전트 시스템에서의 협상이 공통의 에이전트 통신 언어를 사용하는 메시지의 교환을 통해 진행한다고 가정한다. 본 논문에서는 자율적이고, 자기 목표에 충실하면, 한정된 자원을 가진 BDI 에이전트를 위한 합리적인 협상 메타 언어를 가정한다. 또한 에이전트의 정신적인 상태에 바탕을 두고 통신하는 BDI 에이전트를 위한 협상 프로토콜을 제안한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 일반적인 상거래에서와는 다른 전자상거래 환경의 특성을 바탕으로 구매자와 판매자의 상거래에서 양자간 최대이익을 제공해 줄 수 있는 중개 에이전트 시스템을 제안하였다. 판매자와 구매자의 상거래를 통하여 얻을 수 있는 최적의 타협안은 어느 한쪽으로 이익이 치우치지 않고 양자간 이익의 합이 최대가 되는 제안으로 정의하였다. 중개 에이전트는 상품의 다중 속성을 고려하여 협상을 수행하며, 구매자와 판매자의 이익은 Multi Attribute Utility Theory(MAUT)를 이용하여 표현하였다. 중개 에이전트를 이용한 협상 과정은 협상에 참여한 구매자와 판매자의 협상 정보를 이용하여 정수계획법으로 모형화 하였다. 중개 에이전트 시스템과의 비교를 위하여 상호이익의 보장이라는 동일한 조건 하에서, 구매자와 판매자에이전트 사이의 상호작용을 이용한 협상 알고리즘의 하나인 trade-off mechanism을 적용하여 협상 시스템을 구현하였다. Trade-off mechanism에 의한 타협안의 경우 최적간을 보장하지 못하는 반면 중개 에이전트 시스템에 의한 타협안은 상대적으로 빠른 시간 내에 양자간 최대 이익을 제공하는 최적의 타협안을 보장해 주었다.

Vickrey 경매에 기초한 다중 에이전트 시스템에서의 작업 재할당 (Task Reallocation in Multi-agent Systems Based on Vickrey Auctioning)

  • The automated assignment of multiple tasks to executing agents is a key problem in the area of multi-agent systems. In many domains, significant savings can be achieved by reallocating tasks among agents with different costs for handling tasks. The automation of task reallocation among self-interested agents requires that the individual agents use a common negotiation protocol that prescribes how they have to interact in order to come to an agreement on "who does what". In this paper, we introduce the multi-agent Traveling Salesman Problem(TSP) as an example of task reallocation problem, and suggest the Vickery auction as an interagent negotiation protocol for solving this problem. In general, auction-based protocols show several advantageous features: they are easily implementable, they enforce an efficient assignment process, and they guarantce an agreement even in scenarios in which the agents possess only very little domain-specific Knowledge. Furthermore Vickrey auctions have the additional advantage that each interested agent bids only once and that the dominant strategy is to bid one′s true valuation. In order to apply this market-based protocol into task reallocation among self-interested agents, we define the profit of each agent, the goal of negotiation, tasks to be traded out through auctions, the bidding strategy, and the sequence of auctions. Through several experiments with sample multi-agent TSPs, we show that the task allocation can improve monotonically at each step and then finally an optimal task allocation can be found with this protocol.

멀티 에이전트를 이용한 인터넷 채용 협상 시스템의 구현 (Implementation of Internet Recruiting Negotiation System using Multi Agents)

  • 본 논문은 인터넷을 이용한 채용이 보편화되어 지원자와 고용자의 채용 조건에 대한 협상이 요구되는 시점에서, 지원자와 고용자를 대신하는 협상 에이전트를 이용한 인터넷 채용 협상 시스템을 제안한다. 기존 협상 시스템이 다중 속성에 대하여 사용자의 선호도와 순차적 협상을 이용하는 것에 반하여, 제안하는 협상 시스템은 각 속성의 병렬적 협상을 수행한다. 각 속성에 대한 병렬적 협상은 단일 속성을 포함하는 다중 속성에 대한 협상을 가능하게 하며 각 속성에 대한 개별적인 협상을 통한 협상결과를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 선호도에 따른 가중치를 적용함으로써 보다 효율적인 협상을 제공한다는 것을 실험을 통하여 우수한 결과를 얻었다.
