This paper considers the problem of mitigating CCI(Co-channel Interference) in cellular OFDMA downlink systems. The users in the cell-edge area suffer from large CCIs, and their SINR requirements are hard to be maintained. To guarantee their QoS, we propose a new exclusive sub-carrier allocation and power control algorithm. The performance of the proposed two-step algorithm is simulated in SUI-A path-loss model, and it is compared with that of the conventional algorithm. The simulation results show that the data transmission rate in the cell-edge area was increased by 600Kbps within the same power constraint. The results indicate that with proposed algorithm, the data rate stability can be achieved independently of the user location in the cell.

An 8192-point pipelined FFT/IFFT processor core is designed, which can be used in multi-carrier modulation systems such as DUf-based VDSL modem and OFDM-based DVB system. In order to improve the signal-to-quantization-noise ratio (SQNR) of FFT/IFFT results, two-step convergent block floating-point (TS_CBFP) scaling is employed. Since the proposed TS_CBFP scaling does not require additional buffer memory, it reduces memory as much as about 80% when compared with conventional CBFP methods, resulting in area-and power-efficient implementation. The SQNR of about 60-㏈ is achieved with 10-bit input, 14-bit internal data and twiddle factors, and 16-bit output. The core synthesized using 0.25-$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS library has about 76,300 gates, 390K bits RAM, and twiddle factor ROM of 39K bits. Simulation results show that it can safely operate up to 50-㎒ clock frequency at 2.5-V supply, resulting that a 8192-point FFT/IFFT can be computed every 164-${\mu}\textrm{s}$. It was verified by Xilinx FPGA implementation.

This paper presents the architecture and design of a high speed asymmetric data transmission baseband MODEM ASIC chip for CATV networks. The implemented MODEM chip supports the physical layer of the DOCSIS(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) standard in MCNS(Multimedia Cable Network System) The chip consists of a QPSK/16-QAM transmitter and a 64/256-QAM receiver which contain a symbol timing recovery circuit, a carrier recovery circuit, a blind equalizer using MMA and LMS algorithms. The chip can support data rates of 64Mbps at 256 QAM and 48Mbps at 64-QAM and can provide symbol rates up to 8MBaud. This symbol rate is faster than existing QAM receivers. We have performed logic synthesis using the $0.35\mu\textrm{m}$ standard cell library. The total number of gates is about 290,000 and the implemented chip is being fabricated and will be delivered soon.

Tone injection scheme has been known as one of PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) reduction methods deployable to multi-carrier system like OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). The basic idea in tone injection scheme is to enforce the constellation size larger so that each of original constellation points is mapped into the preassigned distinct points. Along the accomplishment of tone injection, it needs great amount of computations to search out not only an appropriate frequency but a phase. Although there is no loss of transmission rate is expected because of no need to send the overhead, the tone injection scheme has not been preferable due to its enormous computations. To alleviate the amount of complexity, this paper proposes the GA(Genetic Algorithm) based tone injection scheme such that its complexity is reduced comparing with that of the conventional method. The simulation results show that the proposed GA based tone injection scheme approaches the PAPR performance associated with the conventional exhaustive search method at the expense of low computations.

OFDM Systems for multi-user use adaptive modulation and ending (AMC) which is a method that selects suitable modulation order and code rate depending on channel state of each user. Using AMC, OFDM system can provide high quality and reliable communication. Base station using AMC scheme requires downlink channel information of each terminal to operate optimality. However, under practical system environment, it is unsuitable to transmit all channel information because uplink bandwidth of the system is limited. In this paper, we propose a flexible block-wise loading (FBL) algorithm combined with a novel CQI feedback scheme with reduced number of required bits to optimize the performance of AMC system. Proposed algorithm allocates sub-carrier groups dynamically to improve the sector throughput and outage probability performance.

FlashLinQ, one of the typical D2D communication systems developed by Qualcomm, considers a single-tone communication based distributed channel-aware link scheduling method to realize the link scheduling process with low control overheads. However, considering the frequency selective fading effect of practical multi-path channel, the single-tone based SIR estimation causes a critical scheduling error problem because the received single-tone signal has quite different channel gain at each sub-carrier location. In order to overcome this problem, we propose a novel link scheduling method based on CAZAC (Constant Amplitude Zero Auto-Correlation) sequence for D2D communication system. In the proposed method, each link has a unique offset value set for the generation of CAZAC sequences. CAZAC sequences with the cyclic offsets are transmitted using multiple sub-blocks in the entire bandwidth, and then each device can obtain nearly full-band SIR using a good cyclic cross-correlation property of CAZAC sequence.

There are several factors causing re-work in CMP process such as improper polish time calculation by operator, removal rate decline of the polisher, unstable in-suit pad conditioning, slurry supply module problem and wafer carrier rotation inconsistency. And conclusively those fundimental reason for the re-work rate increasement is mainly from the cycle time delay between wafer polish and post measurement. Therefore, Wafer thickness measurement in wet condition could be able to remove those improper process conditions which may happen during the process in comparison with the conventional dried wafer measurement system and it can be able to reduce the CMP process cycle time. CMP scrap reduction by overpolish, re-work rate reduction, thickness control efficiency also can be easily achieved. CMP Equipment manufacturer also trying to develop integrated system which has multi-head & platen, cleaner, pre & post thickness measure and even control the polish time from the calculated removal rate of each polishing head by software. CMP re-work problem such as over & under polish by target thickness may result in the cycle time delay. By reducing those inefficient factors during the process and establish of the automatic process control, CLC system need to be adopted to maximize the process performance. Wafer to Wafer Polish Time Feed Back Control by measuring the wafer right after the polish shorten the polish time calculation for the next wafer and it lead to the perfect Post CMP target thickness control capability. By Monitoring all of the processed the wafer, CMP process will also be stabilize itself.

ITU-R M.1842-1, as a well-known specification dedicated to maritime mobile applications, has standardized wireless transmission protocols according to the particular characteristics of a maritime communications scenario. A time division multiple access (TDMA) frame structure, along with modulation schemes to achieve a high data rate, has been described clearly in ITU-R M.1842-1. However, several specification items are still under "to be decided" status, which brings ambiguity to research works. In addition, the current version of ITU-R M.1842-1 is focused mainly on maritime transmissions in open-sea areas, where the cyclic prefix (CP) is set to zero and only 16-QAM is used in the multi-carrier (MC) system. System performance might be dramatically degraded in coastline areas due to the inter-symbol interference (ISI) caused by selective fading. This is because there is a higher probability that the signal will be reflected by obstacles in coastline areas. In this paper, we introduce the transmission resource block (TRB) dedicated to ITU-R M.1842-1 for a ship ad-hoc network (SANET), where the pilot pattern of TRB is based on the terrestrial trunked radio (TETRA). After that, we evaluated SANET performance under the maritime channel model in a coastline area. In order to avoid noise amplification and to overcome the ISI caused by selective fading, several strategies are suggested and compared in the channel estimation and equalization procedures, where the link-level simulation results finally validate our proposals.

In this paper, we consider a constant modulus (CM) based blind adaptive receiver design for downlink multi-carrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems employing simple space-time block coding (STBC). In the paper, filter weight vectors used for the detection of the transmitted symbols are partitioned into its subvectors and then, special relations among the optimal subvectors minimizing the CM metric are derived. Using the special relations, we present a modified CM metric and propose a new blind adaptive stochastic-gradient CM algorithm (SG-CMA) by minimizing the modified CM metric. The proposed blind adaptive SG-CMA has faster convergence rate than the conventional SG-CMA because the filter weight vectors of the proposed scheme are updated in the region of satisfying the derived special relations. Computer simulation results are given to verify the superiority of the proposed SG-CMA.

The AlGaN layer has direct wide bandgaps ranging from 3.4 to 6.2 eV. Nowadays, it is becoming more important to fabricate optical devices in an UV region for the many applications. The high quality AlGaN layer is necessary to establish the UV optical devices. However, the growth of AlGaN layer on GaN layer is difficult due to the lattice mismatch and difference thermal expansion coefficient between GaN layer and AlGaN layer. In this paper, we attempted to grow the LED structure on GaN template by mixed-source HVPE method with multi-sliding boat system. We tried to find the optical and lattice transition of active layer by control the Al content in mixed-source. For the growth of epi layer, the HCl and $NH_3$ gas were flowed over the mixed-source and the carrier gas was $N_2$. The temperature of source zone and growth zone was stabled at 900 and $1090^{\circ}C$, respectively. After the growth, we performed the x-ray diffraction (XRD) and electro luminescence (EL) measurement.
