In this paper, a new extended JPDA (Joint Probabilistic Data Association) tracking algorithm which has more excellent performance than that of the conventional JPDA algorithm in case of the tracking of crossing targets is proposed. In the proposed extended JPDA algorithm, the velocity parameters as well as the position parameters are included to compute the association probabilities between tracks and measurement data. Then the tracking performance of crossing targets is improved and the track bias of parallel moving targets can be reduced. Accordingly, in this paper, the new extended JPDA algorithm for multitarget tracking is proposed and its good performance is shown through the computer simulation. And, tracking performance of extended JPDA algorithm is also compared with that of JPDA algorithm with our noise model.

Projection Mapping, also known as Spatial Augmented Reality(SAR) has attracted much attention recently and used for many division, which can augment physical objects with projected various virtual replications. However, conventional approaches towards projection mapping have faced some limitations. Target objects' geometric transformation property does not considered, and movements of flexible objects-like paper are hard to handle, such as folding and bending as natural interaction. Also, precise registration and tracking has been a cumbersome process in the past. While there have been many researches on Projection Mapping on static objects, dynamic projection mapping that can keep tracking of a moving flexible target and aligning the projection at interactive level is still a challenge. Therefore, this paper propose a new method using Unity3D and ARToolkit for high-speed robust tracking and dynamic projection mapping onto non-rigid deforming objects rapidly and interactively. The method consists of four stages, forming cubic bezier surface, process of rendering transformation values, multiple marker recognition and tracking, and webcam real time-lapse imaging. Users can fold, curve, bend and twist to make interaction. This method can achieve three high-quality results. First, the system can detect the strong deformation of objects. Second, it reduces the occlusion error which reduces the misalignment between the target object and the projected video. Lastly, the accuracy and the robustness of this method can make result values to be projected exactly onto the target object in real-time with high-speed and precise transformation tracking.

In this paper, the speed control problem of moving camera is investigated for tracking the movement of the human-face. The camera system with pan-tilt mechanism sends an image to PC and PC sends back tracking coordinate to the camera. Then the camera tracks a human face in real time. The speed of the stepping motors for moving the camera must be controlled to the target region fast enough and smoothly, In this paper, a fuzzy logic controller is proposed for driving step motors. By creating driving acceleration and deceleration speed Profile, the speed of the motors is controled fast and smoothly. Experiments are performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, a fast matching method using hierarchical neighborhood search and subtemplate to reduce very heavy computational load of the conventional matching method, is presented. Some parameters of the proposed method are chosen so that an automatic target tracker to which it is applied can track one moving object well in comparatively simple background. Experimental results show that its performance is not so degraded in spite of high computational reduction over that of the matching method using 3-step search.

Semi-active laser missile systems with high accuracy are necessary to asymmetric threats, such as UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). They are usually used to attack stationary or slow moving targets, therefore we should study on the laser designator which can detect and track fast moving targets in order to deal with UAV. In this study, design specifications are came up through performance analysis of existing laser designators, and laser designation method for fast moving target is developed. The detection and tracking performance of developed laser designator are verified through inside/outside tests on ground/aerial stationary/moving targets. Through this study, we obtain laser designator techniques that could be applied to actual semi-active laser missile systems.

This paper proposes a quasi-optimal linear DOA (Direction-of-Arrival) estimator which is necessary for the development of a real-time robot auditory system tracking moving acoustic source. It is well known that the use of conventional nonlinear filtering schemes may result in the severe performance degradation of DOA estimation and not be preferable for real-time implementation. These are mainly due to the inherent nonlinearity of the acoustic signal model used for DOA estimation. This motivates us to consider a new uncertain linear acoustic signal model based on the linear prediction relation of a noisy sinusoid. Using the suggested measurement model, it is shown that the resultant DOA estimation problem is cast into the NCRKF (Non-Conservative Robust Kalman Filtering) problem [12]. NCRKF-based DOA estimator provides reliable DOA estimates of a fast moving acoustic source in spite of using the noise-corrupted measurement matrix in the filter recursion and, as well, it is suitable for real-time implementation because of its linear recursive filter structure. The computational efficiency and DOA estimation performance of the proposed method are evaluated through the computer simulations.

This paper presents a precise tracking control scheme for the proposed parallel robot using artificial neural network. This control scheme is composed of three feedback controllers and one feedforward controller. Conventional PD controller and artificial neural network are used as feedback and feedforward controller respectively. A backpropagation learning strategy is applied to the training of artificial neural network, and PD controller outputs are used as target outputs. The PD controllers are designed at the robot dynamics based on inter-relationship between active joints and moving platform. Feedback controllers insure the total stability of system, and feedforward controller generates the control signal for trajectory tracking. The precise tracking performance of proposed control scheme is proved by computer simulation.

Recent years have witnessed a growing interest in the fields of video surveillance and mobile object tracking. This paper proposes a mobile object tracking algorithm. First, several parameters such as object window, object area, and expansion-contraction (E-C) parameter are defined. Then, a modified E-C algorithm for multiple-object tracking is presented. The proposed algorithm tracks moving objects by expansion and contraction of the object window. In addition, it includes methods for updating the background image and avoiding occlusion of the target image. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified experimentally. For example, the first scenario traces the path of two people walking in opposite directions in a hallway, whereas the second one is conducted to track three people in a group of four walkers.
In the case of the tracking system with an active camera, it is very difficult to guarantee real-time processing due to the attribute of vision system which handles large amounts of data at once and has time delay to process. The reliability of the processed result is also badly influenced by the slow sampling time and uncertainty caused by the image processing. In this paper, we figure out dynamic characteristics of pixels reflected on the image plane and derive the mathematical model of the vision tracking system which includes the actuating part and the image processing part. Based on this model, we find a controller that stabilizes the system and enhances the tracking performance to track a target rapidly. The centroid is used as the position index of moving object and the DC motor in the actuating part is controlled to keep the identified centroid at the center point of the image plane.
