동해안 북부 자망에서 어획된 명태(Theragra chalcogramma)의 생식소 성숙과 포획 후 경과시간에 따른 성숙란의 RNA/DNA ratio 및 냉장보관 정자의 활력 (Gonadal Maturation, RNA/DNA Ratio of Mature Eggs, and the Effect of Refrigeration on Egg Viability and Sperm Motility in Korean Walleye pollock Theragra chalcogramma)

  • We conducted a study to 1) determine the indicators of gonadal maturity in male and female Korean walleye pollock Theragra chalcogramma for the purposes of artificial insemination; 2) establish the RNA/DNA ratio of mature eggs in this species; and 3) monitor the effect of refrigerated storage on egg viability and the motility of sperm collected from dead adult males. During the spawning season, the color of female gonads changed from orange to transparent, and that of male gonads changed from pale orange to milky white. The DNA content and RNA/DNA ratio of mature eggs were maintained without significant changes for approximately 6 h when eggs were preserved at $4^{\circ}C$. Sperm could be obtained from both milt and undiluted semen. Sperm obtained from milt ceased moving on the second day after isolation, while over 60% of sperm obtained from semen showed movement until the 13th day. Seven attempts were made to artificially inseminate mature eggs, of which two resulted in successful fertilization. The successful inseminations produced 94,000 and 5,000 fertilized eggs, respectively. This study shows that artificial insemination of walleye pollock is a viable strategy when natural propagation is not possible.

2D 얼굴 영상을 이용한 로봇의 감정인식 및 표현시스템 (Emotion Recognition and Expression System of Robot Based on 2D Facial Image)

  • This paper presents an emotion recognition and its expression system of an intelligent robot like a home robot or a service robot. Emotion recognition method in the robot is used by a facial image. We use a motion and a position of many facial features. apply a tracking algorithm to recognize a moving user in the mobile robot and eliminate a skin color of a hand and a background without a facial region by using the facial region detecting algorithm in objecting user image. After normalizer operations are the image enlarge or reduction by distance of the detecting facial region and the image revolution transformation by an angel of a face, the mobile robot can object the facial image of a fixing size. And materialize a multi feature selection algorithm to enable robot to recognize an emotion of user. In this paper, used a multi layer perceptron of Artificial Neural Network(ANN) as a pattern recognition art, and a Back Propagation(BP) algorithm as a learning algorithm. Emotion of user that robot recognized is expressed as a graphic LCD. At this time, change two coordinates as the number of times of emotion expressed in ANN, and change a parameter of facial elements(eyes, eyebrows, mouth) as the change of two coordinates. By materializing the system, expressed the complex emotion of human as the avatar of LCD.

  • 본 논문은 두 대의 카메라로부터 들어온 영상을 보여주는 see-through 장치의 사용 환경하에서 일반적인 사용자도 쉽고 편리하게 컴퓨터 시스템 또는 여러 프로세스들을 제어할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스를 제안한다. 이를 위해 AR기술을 접목하여 영상이 보이는 화면에 가상의 버튼들을 합성하였으며, 화면상에 보이는 손의 위치를 추적하여 손가락에 의한 버튼의 선택 유무를 판단하고 각 상황에 따른 버튼의 색상 변경을 통해 결과를 나타내었다. 사용자는 단순히 화면을 보며 공중에서 손가락을 움직여 버튼을 선택함으로써 관련 작업을 수행 할 수 있다.

  • 본 논문은 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크에서 센트로이드 위치 인식 방법을 개선하여 저전력 위치인식 방법을 제안하였다. 기존의 지그비 단말 위치 인식은 3개의 비컨으로부터 받아들여지는 RSSI 값을 활용하는 방법이었다. 그러나 보행자가 노드가 되어 움직일 때, USN 단말의 움직임 속도는 빠르지 않다. 따라서 세 지점 중 한 지점의 RSSI 값을 바로 이전에 받았던 값을 이용하여도 오차 범위는 크지 않다. 이러한 핸드오프를 이용하여 기존 방식보다 약 30%의 전력 이득을 보고, 색상에 의한 노드 영역 검색이 가능한 모니터링 시스템을 구현하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand how the silhouette changed throughout 1970s and assess how US women express their identities through their dress, which may explain societies' attitudes through the way women dresses. US Vogue fashion magazines were used to explore all the information on fashion and style trends, social trends, beauty, and travel. A content analysis was performed on the issues of the March and September for the years 1970 to 1979. The findings for this study about the 1970s were all about perpetual change, constantly moving forward with innovation. The color ranged from bright, cheery and bold to deep and passionate to subtle neutrals. There were a few constant colors through the decade like white, black and navy. Occasionally the trend would completely change from one season to the next within the same year. They would be full and oversized and then be slim and body conscious. The one trend that stayed true for the entire decade was wrapping. Skirts, pants, dresses, tops, shoes and jewelry; everything wrapped in one-way or another. Clothes steadily became more revealing as the years progressed. Fabrics over all were soft and knitted. Casual and comfortable was the phase heard most often. In the 1970s there was constant change in prints. They were bold and large or subtle and small, ethnic or floral. Hair was mostly smooth and sleek however towards the style moved to a fuller look.

영상 운동 분류와 키 운동 검출에 기반한 2차원 동영상의 입체 변환 (Stereoscopic Video Conversion Based on Image Motion Classification and Key-Motion Detection from a Two-Dimensional Image Sequence)

  • Stereoscopic conversion has been an important and challenging issue for many 3-D video applications. Usually, there are two different stereoscopic conversion approaches, i.e., image motion-based conversion that uses motion information and object-based conversion that partitions an image into moving or static foreground object(s) and background and then converts the foreground in a stereoscopic object. As well, since the input sequence is MPEG-1/2 compressed video, motion data stored in compressed bitstream are often unreliable and thus the image motion-based conversion might fail. To solve this problem, we present the utilization of key-motion that has the better accuracy of estimated or extracted motion information. To deal with diverse motion types, a transform space produced from motion vectors and color differences is introduced. A key-motion is determined from the transform space and its associated stereoscopic image is generated. Experimental results validate effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

Design of a Recognizing System for Vehicle's License Plates with English Characters

  • In recent years, video detection systems have been implemented in various infrastructures such as airport, public transportation, power generation system, water dam and so on. Recognizing moving objects in video sequence is an important problem in computer vision, with applications in several fields, such as video surveillance and target tracking. Segmentation and tracking of multiple vehicles in crowded situations is made difficult by inter-object occlusion. In the system described in this paper, the mean shift algorithm is firstly used to filter and segment a color vehicle image in order to get candidate regions. These candidate regions are then analyzed and classified in order to decide whether a candidate region contains a license plate or not. And then some characters in the license plate is recognized by using the fuzzy ARTMAP neural network, which is a relatively new architecture of the neural network family and has the capability to learn incrementally unlike the conventional BP network. We finally design a license plate recognition system using the mean shift algorithm and fuzzy ARTMAP neural network and show its performance via some computer simulations.

자동 촬영에 의한 파노라마 영상 생성 방법 (Panorama Image Construction Method By Automatic Shot)

  • 본 논문에서는 자동 촬영 파노라마 생성 방법을 제안한다. 기존에는 두 장의 파노라마 멤버들을 수동으로 촬영하여 파노라마 영상을 만드는 반면, 제안한 방법은 이동되는 카메라에서 파노라마 멤버들을 자동으로 촬영하여 파노라마 영상을 생성한다. 파노라마 멤버들은 카메라로부터 들어오는 영상 스트림에서 추적 영역을 자동으로 추적하여 촬영된다. 촬영된 멤버들은 추적 영역을 포함하는 정합 영역에 대해 불변 특징 방법을 적용한다. 이 방법은 파노라마 멤버들을 자동으로 촬영할 수 있고 파노라마 생성 속도가 빠른 장점이 있다. 실험에서 $320{\times}240$ 크기의 칼라 영상에 대해 제안한 방법의 처리 시간이 약 0.89초로 기존의 특징 기반 방법(6)에 비해 처리 속도가 약 2배 빠른 결과를 보였다.

  • Educational environments in rural areas have been slowly deteriorating due to the popular flow of people moving into the city from the countryside. It has been concluded that superannuated educational facilities have a negative influence towards students. This research has been conducted in order to give better mental or psychological influence to those around and comfort and relaxation to the students themselves through developing new ways to renovate the $fa\c{c}ade$ of the run down educational facility. This research develops several structural and ecological (environmental friendly) elements which are used as several segmental elements of the new $fa\c{c}ade$ design for the degraded educational facilities. A combination of these design elements can develop many viable alternatives of a new $fa\c{c}ade$ renovation. These new renovations can help students to maintain their educational and social lives in a safer and more ecological environment.

실시간 칼라영상에서 객체추출 및 추적 (Object Extraction and Tracking out of Color Image in Real-Time)

  • 본 논문은 고정영역에서 움직이는 객체를 검출하기 위한 방법으로 배경영상과 입력영상의 차를 이용하여 객체를 추출하고 추출된 객체의 이동을 추적하는 방법에 대해 제안하였다. 객체를 추출하는 방법으로 고정영역에 새로운 객체의 위치를 파악하기 위해 전체 영상의 픽셀을 연산에 참여시키는 것이 아니라 영상의 테두리에 설정된 영역의 픽셀들만을 연산에 참여시킨다. 따라서 중앙영역이 연산에서 제외되어 객체추출의 시간을 효과적으로 단축시킬 수 있었다. 또한 설정영역에서 객체를 추출하기 위하여 시작위치를 먼저 파악하고 시작위치로부터 객체의 가로와 세로의 크기를 추출함으로써 객체의 영역을 검출하였다. 이동된 객체의 추적에는 추출된 중심좌표를 이용하였다.
