  • ADevelopment of various geographic observations, GPS, and Wireless Communication technologies make it easy to control many moving objects and to build an intelligent transport system and transport vehicle management system. However it is difficult to make a suitable system in the real world with a variety of tests to evaluate the performance fairly because real vehicle data are not enough as evaluating and testing the transport plan in the system. Therefore some moving object data generator would be used in most researches. However they can not generate vehicle trajectory according to a user scenario defined to be applied to transport plan, because the existing data generators consider only a gauss distribution, road network. In this paper we design and implement a vehicle data generator for creating vehicle trajectory data based on the user-defined scenario. The designed data generator could make the vehicle location depending on user's transport plan. Besides we store the scenario as patterns and reutilize the used scenario.

  • The need for LBS (Loc,ation Based Services) is increasing due to the wnespread of mobile computing devices and positioning technologies~ In LBS, there are many applications that need to manage moving objects (e.g. taxies, persons). The moving object join operation is to make pairs with spatio-temporal attribute for two sets in the moving object database system. It is import and complicated operation. And processing time increases by geometric progression with numbers of moving objects. Therefore efficient methods of spatio-temporal join is essential to moving object database system. In this paper, we apply spatial join methods to moving objects join. We propose two kind of join methods with TB- Tree that preserves trajectories of moving objects. One is depth first traversal spatio-temporaljoin and another is breadth-first traversal spatio-temporal join. We show results of performance test with sample data sets which are created by moving object ,generator tool.

  • In the moving object database system, spatiotemporal join is very import operation when we process join moving objects. Processing time of spatio-temporal join operation increases by geometric progression with numbers of moving objects. Therefore efficient methods of spatio-temporal join is essential to moving object database system. In this paper, we propose spatio-temporal join algorithm with TB-Tree that preserves trajectories of moving objects, and show result of test. We first present basic algorithm, and propose cpu-time tunning algorithm and IO-time tunning algorithm. We show result of test with data set created by moving object generator tool.

  • For the performance experiments of databases systems with moving object databases, we need moving object trajectory data sets. For example, benchmark data sets of moving object trajectories are required for experiments on query processing of moving object databases. For those reasons, several tools have been developed for generating moving objects in Euclidean spaces or road network spaces. Indoor space differs from outdoor spaces in many aspects and moving object generator for indoor space should reflect these differences. Even some tools were developed to produce virtual moving object trajectories in indoor space, the movements generated by them are not realistic. In this paper, we present a moving object generation tool for indoor space. First, this tool generates trajectories for pedestrians in an indoor space. And it provides a parametric generation of trajectories considering not only speed, number of pedestrians, minimum distance between pedestrians but also type of spaces, time constraints, and type of pedestrians. We try to reflect the patterns of pedestrians in indoor space as realistic as possible. For the reason of interoperability, several geospatial standards are used in the development of the tool.

  • It is well known that a single moving camera video is capable of extracting the 3-dimensional position of an object. With this in mind, current research performed image-based monitoring to establish a floating structure model using a camcorder system. Following this, the present study extracted frame images from digital camcorder video clips and matched the interest points to obtain relative 3D coordinates for both regular and irregular wave conditions. Then, the researchers evaluated the transformation accuracy of the modified SURF-based matching and image-based displacement estimation of the floating structure model in regular wave condition. For the regular wave condition, the wave generator's setting value was 3.0 sec and the cycle of the image-based displacement result was 2.993 sec. Taking into account mechanical error, these values can be considered as very similar. In terms of visual inspection, the researchers observed the shape of a regular wave in the 3-dimensional and 1-dimensional figures through the projection on X Y Z axis. In conclusion, it was possible to calculate the displacement of a floating structure module in near real-time using an average digital camcorder with 30fps video.
