클라우지우스 엔트로피와 적응적 가우시안 혼합 모델을 이용한 움직임 객체 검출 (Moving Object Detection using Clausius Entropy and Adaptive Gaussian Mixture Model)

  • 비디오 시퀀스에서 움직임 있는 객체의 실시간 검출 및 추적은 스마트 감시 시스템에서 매우 중요한 요소로 분류되고 있다. 본 논문에서 우리는 움직임이 있는 객체의 검출을 위해 클라우지우스 엔트로피와 적응적 가우시안 혼합모델을 사용한 객체 검출 방법을 제안한다. 먼저, 엔트로피의 증가는 일반적으로 불안전한 조건에서 많은 엔트로피의 변화가 발생한 경우 복잡성 및 객체의 움직임이 증가함을 의미한다. 만약 순간적으로 엔트로피 변화가 큰 화소는 움직임 객체에 속한다고 고려하여 움직임 분할 특성을 적용한다. 따라서 우리는 먼저 클라우지우스 엔트로피 이론을 적용하여 엔트로피에 대한 에너지 변화량을 dense 맵으로 변환한다. 두 번째로 우리는 움직임 객체를 검출하기 위해 적응적 가우시안 혼합 모델을 적용하였다. 실험 결과에서 제안된 방법이 효율적으로 움직임이 있는 객체를 검출할 수 있었다.

EGML 기반 이동 객체 검출 알고리듬의 하드웨어 구현 (A Hardware Implementation of EGML-based Moving Object Detection Algorithm)

  • 영상에서 움직임이 있는 객체 영역을 검출하기 위한 이동 객체 검출(moving object detection; MOD) 알고리듬을 EGML(effective Gaussian mixture learning) 기반 배경 차분 방법을 적용하여 하드웨어로 설계하였다. EGML 계산 일부의 근사화를 통해 하드웨어 복잡도를 줄였으며, 파이프라이닝 적용을 통해 동작속도를 개선하였다. Verilog-HDL을 이용하여 하드웨어를 설계하였으며, MATLAB/Simulink와 FPGA가 연동된 FPGA- in-the-loop 환경에서 하드웨어 동작을 검증하였다. 설계된 MOD 프로세서는 XC5VSX95T FPGA 디바이스에서 2,218 슬라이스로 구현되었으며, 102 MHz의 클록 주파수로 동작하여 102 MS/s의 처리율을 갖는 것으로 평가되었다. IEEE CDW-2012 데이터 세트의 12가지 영상에 대해 MOD 프로세서의 성능을 분석한 결과, 평균 recall 값은 0.7631, 평균 precision 값은 0.7778, 그리고 평균 F-measure 값은 0.7535로 각각 평가되었다.

  • An effective method is proposed for detecting, acquisition and tracking of a moving object using a disturbance map method in complex image sequences. A significant moving object is detected and tracked within the field of view by computing a modified disturbance map method between an Input image and a temporal average image. This method is very efficient in the serveillance application of digital CCTV and an automatic tracking camera. Experimental results using a real image sequence confirmed that the proposed method can effectively detect and track a significant moving object in complex image sequences.

  • Recently, the IDS(Intrusion Detection System) using a video camera is an important part of the home security systems which start gaining popularity. However, the video intruder detection has not been widely used in the home surveillance systems due to its unreliable performance in the environment with abrupt illumination change. In this paper, we propose an effective moving edge extraction algorithm from a sequence image. The proposed algorithm extracts edge segments from current image and eliminates the background edge segments by matching them with reference edge list, which is updated at every frame, to find the moving edge segments. The test results show that it can detect the contour of moving object in the noisy environment with abrupt illumination change.

  • In this paper, we present an effective viewpoint estimation algorithm for the Moving parallax barrier method of 3D display mobile device. Moving parallax barrier is designed to overcome the biggest problem, the limited view angle. To accomplish it, the position of the viewer's eyes or face should be estimated with strong stability and no latency. We focus on these requirements in the poor performance of mobile processors. We used a pre-processing algorithm in order to overcome the various illumination changes. And, we combined the conventional Viola-Jones face detection method and Optical-flow algorithm for robust and stable viewpoint estimation. Various computer simulations prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Among the several types of 3D display methods the autostereoscopic method has an advantage that we can enjoy a 3D image without any additional device but the method has a disadvantage of a narrow viewing zone so that the moving viewer coannot see the 3D image continuously. This disadvantage can be overcome with the detectioni of viewer's positional movement by head tracking. In this paper we suggest a method of detecting the position of the moving viewer's two eyes by using images obtained through a color CCD camera, The suggested method consists of the preprocessing process and the eye-detection process. Through the experiment of applying the suggested method we were able to find the accurate two-eyes position for 78 images among 80 sample input images of 8 different men with the processing speed of 0.39 second/frame using a personal computer.

  • In this paper, a method to detect lanes and obstacles from the images captured by a CCD camera fitted in an automobile is proposed, and a new terminology “Moving Window” is defined. Processing the input dynamic images in real time can cause quite a few constraints in terms of hardware. In order to overcome these problems and detect lanes and obstacles in real time using the images, the optimal size of “Moving Window” is determined, based upon road conditions and automobile states. The real time detection is made possible through the technique. For each image frame, the moving window is moved in a predicted direction, the accuracy of which is improved by the Kalman filter estimation. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated through the simulated experiments of freeway driving.

An Omnidirectional Vision-Based Moving Obstacle Detection in Mobile Robot

  • This paper presents a new moving obstacle detection method using an optical flow in mobile robot with an omnidirectional camera. Because an omnidirectional camera consists of a nonlinear mirror and CCD camera, the optical flow pattern in omnidirectional image is different from the pattern in perspective camera. The geometry characteristic of an omnidirectional camera has influence on the optical flow in omnidirectional image. When a mobile robot with an omnidirectional camera moves, the optical flow is not only theoretically calculated in omnidirectional image, but also investigated in omnidirectional and panoramic images. In this paper, the panoramic image is generalized from an omnidirectional image using the geometry of an omnidirectional camera. In particular, Focus of expansion (FOE) and focus of contraction (FOC) vectors are defined from the estimated optical flow in omnidirectional and panoramic images. FOE and FOC vectors are used as reference vectors for the relative evaluation of optical flow. The moving obstacle is turned out through the relative evaluation of optical flows. The proposed algorithm is tested in four motions of a mobile robot including straight forward, left turn, right turn and rotation. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by the experimental results.

가우시안 피라미드 기반 차영상을 이용한 도로영상에서의 이동물체검출 (Moving Object Detection using Gaussian Pyramid based Subtraction Images in Road Video Sequences)

  • 본 논문은 도로상에 설치한 고정 카메라로부터 획득된 비디오 영상으로부터 이동물체를 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 배경과 입력 비디오 프레임에서 가우시안 피라미드를 사용한 배경 차영상 기법에 기반하며, 입력 비디오 프레임과 배경영상의 오정합으로 발생하는 오검출을 줄이는데 화소기반 방법에 비해 효과적이다. 차영상에서 임계값을 효과적으로 결정하기위하여 각 프레임에서 Otsu의 방법으로 계산된 임계값에 스칼라 칼만필터를 적용하여 필터링하였다. 실험 결과 도로 비디오 영상에서 움직이는 물체를 효과적으로 검출함을 보였다.

Rake-Based Cellular Radar Receiver Design for Moving Target Detection in Multipath Channel

  • In this paper, we design a rake-based cellular radar receiver (CRR) scheme to detect a moving target located in a multipath environment. The modules of Doppler filter banks, threshold level test, and target detection module are newly introduced into the conventional rake receiver so that it can function as a radar system. The proposed CRR tests the Doppler-shift frequency and signal-to-noise ratio of the received signal against predefined threshold levels to determine detection and then calculates target velocities and ranges. The system performance is evaluated in terms of detection probability and the maximum detection range under a Nakagami-n channel that reflects the multipath environment.
