Movie Retrieval System by Analyzing Sentimental Keyword from User's Movie Reviews (사용자 영화평의 감정어휘 분석을 통한 영화검색시스템)

  • This paper proposed a movie retrieval system based on sentimental keywords extracted from user's movie reviews. At first, sentimental keyword dictionary is manually constructed by applying morphological analysis to user's movie reviews, and then keyword weights in the dictionary are calculated for each movie with TF-IDF. By using these results, the proposed system classify sentimental categories of movies and rank classified movies. Without reading any movie reviews, users can retrieve movies through queries composed by sentimental keywords.

  • An increasing in quantity of multimedia data brought a new problem that expected data should be retrieved fast and exactly. The adequate representation is a key element for the efficient retrieval For this reason, the MPEG-7 standard was established for description of multimedia contents in 2001. Recently, the new metadata were developed to represent characteristics of movie information resources by Korea Federation of Film Archives. In this paper. we designed and implemented a movie information retrieval system. This system used XML schema to accept movie information metada. This system offers a keyword retrieval using high-level metadata based on movie information and similarity retrieval using low-level metadata based on MPEG-7. As a result, that ill be Possible more efficient movie information interchange . movie information metadata reuse and fast retrieve.

Content-based Video Information Retrieval and Streaming System using Viewpoint Invariant Regions

  • This paper caters the need of acquiring the principal objects, characters, and scenes from a video in order to entertain the image based query. The movie frames are divided into frames with 2D representative images called "key frames". Various regions in a key frame are marked as key objects according to their textures and shapes. These key objects serve as a catalogue of regions to be searched and matched from rest of the movie, using viewpoint invariant regions calculation, providing the location, size, and orientation of all the objects occurring in the movie in the form of a set of structures collaborating as video profile. The profile provides information about occurrences of every single key object from every frame of the movie it exists in. This information can further ease streaming of objects over various network-based viewing qualities. Hence, the method provides an effective reduced profiling approach of automatic logging and viewing information through query by example (QBE) procedure, and deals with video streaming issues at the same time.

  • Video information retrieval has become a very important issue because of the explosive increase in video data from Web content development. Meanwhile, content-based video analysis using visual features has been the main source for video information retrieval and browsing. Content in video can be represented with content-based analysis techniques, which can extract various features from audio-visual data such as frames, shots, colors, texture, or shape. Moreover, similarity between videos can be measured through content-based analysis. However, a movie that is one of typical types of video data is organized by story as well as audio-visual data. This causes a semantic gap between significant information recognized by people and information resulting from content-based analysis, when content-based video analysis using only audio-visual data of low level is applied to information retrieval of movie. The reason for this semantic gap is that the story line for a movie is high level information, with relationships in the content that changes as the movie progresses. Information retrieval related to the story line of a movie cannot be executed by only content-based analysis techniques. A formal model is needed, which can determine relationships among movie contents, or track meaning changes, in order to accurately retrieve the story information. Recently, story-based video analysis techniques have emerged using a social network concept for story information retrieval. These approaches represent a story by using the relationships between characters in a movie, but these approaches have problems. First, they do not express dynamic changes in relationships between characters according to story development. Second, they miss profound information, such as emotions indicating the identities and psychological states of the characters. Emotion is essential to understanding a character's motivation, conflict, and resolution. Third, they do not take account of events and background that contribute to the story. As a result, this paper reviews the importance and weaknesses of previous video analysis methods ranging from content-based approaches to story analysis based on social network. Also, we suggest necessary elements, such as character, background, and events, based on narrative structures introduced in the literature. We extract characters' emotional words from the script of the movie Pretty Woman by using the hierarchical attribute of WordNet, which is an extensive English thesaurus. WordNet offers relationships between words (e.g., synonyms, hypernyms, hyponyms, antonyms). We present a method to visualize the emotional pattern of a character over time. Second, a character's inner nature must be predetermined in order to model a character arc that can depict the character's growth and development. To this end, we analyze the amount of the character's dialogue in the script and track the character's inner nature using social network concepts, such as in-degree (incoming links) and out-degree (outgoing links). Additionally, we propose a method that can track a character's inner nature by tracing indices such as degree, in-degree, and out-degree of the character network in a movie through its progression. Finally, the spatial background where characters meet and where events take place is an important element in the story. We take advantage of the movie script to extracting significant spatial background and suggest a scene map describing spatial arrangements and distances in the movie. Important places where main characters first meet or where they stay during long periods of time can be extracted through this scene map. In view of the aforementioned three elements (character, event, background), we extract a variety of information related to the story and evaluate the performance of the proposed method. We can track story information extracted over time and detect a change in the character's emotion or inner nature, spatial movement, and conflicts and resolutions in the story.

Similar Movie Retrieval using Low Peak Feature and Image Color (Low Peak Feature와 영상 Color를 이용한 유사 동영상 검색)

  • In this paper. we propose search algorithm using Low Peak Feature of audio and image color value by which similar movies can be identified. Combing through entire video files for the purpose of recognizing and retrieving matching movies requires much time and memory space. Moreover, these methods still share a critical problem of erroneously recognizing as being different matching videos that have been altered only in resolution or converted merely with a different codec. Thus we present here a similar-video-retrieval method that relies on analysis of audio patterns, whose peak features are not greatly affected by changes in the resolution or codec used and image color values. which are used for similarity comparison. The method showed a 97.7% search success rate, given a set of 2,000 video files whose audio-bit-rate had been altered or were purposefully written in a different codec.

  • In spite of the rapid growth of mobile multimedia contents market, most of the customers experience inconvenience, lengthy search processes and frustration in searching for the specific multimedia contents they want. These difficulties are attributable to the current mobile Internet service method based on inefficient sequential search. To overcome these difficulties, this paper proposes a MOBIIe COntents Recommender System for Movie(MOBICORS-Movie), which is designed to reduce customers' search efforts in finding desired movies on the mobile Internet. MOBICORS-Movie consists of three agents: CF(Collaborative Filtering), CBIR(Content-Based Information Retrieval) and RF(Relevance Feedback). These agents collaborate each other to support a customer in finding a desired movie by generating personalized recommendations of movies. To verify the performance of MOBICORS-Movie, the simulation-based experiments were conducted. The results from this experiments show that MOBICORS-Movie significantly reduces the customer's search effort and can be a realistic solution for movie recommendation in the mobile Internet environment.

Instead, most current similar movie-matching methods choose to analyze only a part of each movie's video-image information. Yet, these methods still share a critical problem of erroneously recognizing as being different matching videos that have been altered only in resolution or converted merely with a different codecs. This paper proposes an audio-information-based search algorithm by which similar movies can be identified. The proposed method prepares and searches through a database of movie's spectral peak information that remains relatively steady even with changes in the bit-rate, codecs, or sample-rate. The method showed a 92.1% search success rate, given a set of 1,000 video files whose audio-bit-rate had been altered or were purposefully written in a different codec.

Therefore, this paper will suggest analysing trait element of digital content data, building of retrieval technology, analysing and retrieval technology base on KANSEI vocabulary and etc. For the these, we made a extraction technology of trait element based on semantics and KANSEI processing algorithm based on color information.

  • Multimedia systems present information by using various media, for example, video, sound, music, animation, movie, etc., in addition to the text which has long been used for conveying the information. Among many multimedia applications, the multimedia information retrieval systems commercialized in the form of multimedia encyclopedia CD-ROMs, benefit by using various media for their ability to present information in an efficient and complete way. But using various media may cause end users' confusion and furthermore, poor user-interface design often exacerbates the systems. For appropriate design of the user interface of multimedia information retrieval systems, we investigated the characteristics of the multimedia information retrieval systems and listed 35 variables that might affect the usability of the user interface. And we selected 10 variables through some procedures such as brainstorming, literature survey, expert opinion, relevance analysis and feasibility analysis, in order to perform a screening study which will remarkably reduce the cost and time in conducting subsequent human factors experiments.

Retrieving Minority Product Reviews Using Positive/Negative Skewness (긍정/부정 비대칭도를 이용한 소수상품평의 검색)

  • A given product's online product reviews build up to form largely positive or negative reviews or mixed reviews that include both the positive and negative reviews. While the homogeneously positive or negative reviews help readers identify the generally praised or criticized product, the mixed reviews with minority opinions potentially contain valuable information about the product. We present a method of retrieving minority opinions from the online product reviews using the skewness of positive/negative reviews. The proposed method first classifies the positive/negative product reviews using a sentiment dictionary and then calculates the skewness of the classified results to identify minority reviews. Minority review retrieval experiments were conducted on smartphone and movie reviews, and the F1-measures were 24.6% (smartphone) and 15.9% (movie) and the accuracies were 56.8% and 46.8% when the individual reviews' sentiment classification accuracies were 85.3% and 78.8%. The theoretical performance of minority review retrieval is also discussed.
