  • The purpose of the study was to analyze kinetic factors required to the three-point jump shot of the basketball games through 3-D analysis and ground reaction force(GRF) analysis. Six university male players participated in this study. The results of the study were showed that (1) resultant velocity in the center of mass(COM) was $0.84{\pm}0.27\;m/s$ since a player didn't shot a ball in the highest peak and shot ball at the moment of going up forward and vertical movement. Therefore, it is necessary to find a proper timing to shot a ball; (2) the angular velocity was largely increased in upper arm and fore arm out of the upper-limb segments and the hands had the largest angular velocity since the body is in a fixed situation and angular speed is rapidly increased by the wrist' snap with the rapid movement of upper arm and forearm at the time of release a ball; (3) it is judged that a player can shot a ball at the accurate and high release point when the player collects power vertically to the maximum by keeping GRF to the right and the rear in a proper way and by keeping the body's balance so that a large power may not be dispersed.

  • The smoke filling process for the atrium space containing a fire source is simulated using two types of deterministic fire model : Zone model and Field model. The zone model used is the CFAST(version 1.6) model developed at the Building and Fire Research Laboratories, NIST in the USA. The field model is a self-developed frie field model based on Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) theories. This article is focused on finding out the smoke movement and temperature distribution in atrium space which is cubic in shape. For solving the liked set of velocity and pressure equation, the PISO algorithm, which strengthened the velocity-pressure coupling, was used. Since PISO algorithm is a time-marching procedure, computing time si very fast. A computational procedure for predicting velocity and temperature distribution in fire-induced flow is based on the solution, in finite volume method and non-staggered grid system, of 3-dimensional equations for the conservation of mass, momentum, energy, species and so forth. The fire model i.e Zone model and Field model predicted similar results for clear heights and the smoke layer temperature.

  • Yangsan fault system is a large fault more than 170km and one of the important structures Geologically that has been create recently in the Korean Peninsula. Debates have been made incessantly and widely throughout the Yangsan fault system because it's a lot of earthquake record. In this study, GPS data that was received from Yangsan GPS station in were processed by the Precise Point Positioning and the movement velocity was calculated by the statistical process about the results, where is the fault zone. The results showed that Yangsan is moving by azimuth angle of $126^{\circ}$ and the velocity of 49mm/year. It is respected that this results will be utilized in basic data about geophysics.

  • Occlusal splints have been widely used in dentistry for treatment and diagnosis of signs and symptoms related to dental occlusion. The autor studyed the effect of occlusal splint on masticatory movement of young adult men (mean age 23.8 yrs.). Who had worn. occlusal splint for 1 week. The result were as follows: 1. Lateral movement of the mandible during mastication could be increased after wearing occlusal splint for 1 week. 2. Vertical movement of the mandible during mastication was increased after wearing occlusal splint for 1 week. 3. Maximum opening velocity of the mandible during mastication was increased after wearing occlusal splint for 1 week. 4. Mandibular movement during mastication was more affected by chewing of hard foods than of soft foods following occlusal changes. 5. Steepness of the anterior guidance affected several aspects of masticatory movement. 6. Masticatory movement of the mandible became more regular after wearing occlusal splint for 1 week.

  • Draft is defined as an unwanted local cooling of the human body caused by air movement. It is a serious problem in many ventilated or air conditioned buildings. Often draft complaints occur although measured velocities in the occupied zone maybe lower than prescribed in existing standards. Purpose of this study is to clarify the evaluation of thermal comfort based on temperature and air velocity in winter. Experiments were performed in an environmental chamber in winter. Indoor temperature and air velocity was artificially controlled. The experiments were performed to evaluate temperature conditions and air velocity conditions by physiological and psychological responses of human. According to physiological responses and psychological responses, it was clear that the optimum air velocity is about 0.15 m/s and 0.30 m/s.

  • In this paper, we have studied about the relationships between a core gap and a feeding velocity, an amplitude and the core gap by the exciting force, the parts movement and a bowl materials, and the feeding velocity and the weight of the parts in the parts feeder. The obtained are as follow : 1) Optimal condition of mean feeding velocity is speeded up largely when the core gap is in 0.6mm. 2) It can be safe to say that the relation between the feeding velocity and the exciting voltage relay on the core gap. 3) An exciting voltage is rised by an increase of the weight, but an amplitude has been in the range between 23$mu extrm{m}$ through 40${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$.

  • The nature of a network implies movement among vertices, and can be regarded as flows. Based on the flow concept which network follows the hydraulic fluid principle, we develop a spatial network model using Bernoulli equation. Then we explore the organization of spatial network and growth by the velocity of network flows. Results show that flow velocity determines network connections or influence of a vertex up to a point, and that the overall network structure is the result of pull force (pressure) and flow velocity. We demonstrate how one vertex can monopolize connections within a network.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the possibility of identifying joint damping property through commercially available isokinetic ergometer (BIODEX). The proposed method is to estimate the damping torque of the knee joint from the difference between the external joint torque for maintaining isokinetic movement and the gravity torque of the lower leg. The damping torque was estimated at various joint angular velocities, from which the damping property would be derived. Measurement setup was composed of the BIODEX system with an external force sensor and Labview system. Matlab was used in the analysis of the damping property. The experimental result showed that the small variation in angular velocity due to acceleration and deceleration of the crank arm resulted in greater change of inertial torque than the damping torque, so that the estimation of damping property from the isokinetic movement is difficult.

  • This paper presents a foot movement tracking system using ultrasonic sensors and inertial sensors, where the position and velocity of foot are computed using inertial sensors and ultrasonic sensors mounted on a shoe. A foot movement can be estimated using an inertial navigation algorithm only; however, the error tends to increase due to biases of gyroscopes and accelerometers. To reduce the error, a localization system using ultrasonic sensors is additionally used. In the localization system using ultrasonic sensors, the position is continuously calculated in the absolute coordinate. An indirect Kalman filter is used to combine inertial sensors and ultrasonic sensors. Through experiments, it is shown that the proposed system can track a foot movement.
