Four Quadrant Drives of Electric Vehicle by Two Quadrant Chopper (2상한 쵸퍼에 의한 전기자동차의 4상한 운전)

  • In this paper, bilateral variable-ratio dc chopper system for electric vehicle is proposed. We present the method which is able to simplify the main synthetic chopper circuit by selecting among the forward powering, forward regenerative braking, backward powering, and backward regenerative braking only by control signal. By conducting the experiment with separately excited dc motor, it is confirmed that two quadrant chopper can drive four quadrant operation.

  • In case of field weakening region, torque is directly affected by flux. In this region, the flux reference is cIecreased inversely proportional to the rotor speed. As the flux is decreased, the magnetizing inductance is nonnally increased The increased magnetizing inductance limited voltage for controlling current In this paper, rreasuring q axis voltage in field weakening region, magnetizing inductance in flux calculating can be readjusted. Computer simulation and experiment results demostrate the efficacy of the prqx>sed rrethod. Proposed algorithm is expected to the application of the adjustable drive system in the spinning and weaving field. field.

  • Much attention has given to EMI effects created by variable speed ac drive system. This paper focuses on the switching technique to mitigate common mode voltage. Zero switching states of inverter control invoke large common mode voltage. Using inversed carrier wave, zero switching states are removed. In addition, proposed technique is easy to apply to existing 2-level inverter design. And common mode mitigation technique for sinusoidal PWM is also presented. Proposed switching technique is implemented with a 2.2kw 1735rpm induction motor.

  • The position control accuracy of a robot arm is significantly deteriorated when a long arm robot is operated at a high speed. In this case, the robot arm must be modeled as a flexible structure, not a rigid one, and its control system should be designed with its elastic modes taken into account. In this paper, the tip position control scheme of a one-link flexible manipulator using 2-DOF controller with sliding mode is presented. The robot consists of a flexible arm manufactured with a thin aluminium plate, an AC servo motor with a harmonic drive for speed reduction, an optical encoder and a CCD camera as a vision sensor for on-line measuring the tip deflection of the flexible m. Simulation and experimental results of the flexible manipulator with a proposed controller are provided to show the effectiveness of the controller.

  • A new pump used in arthroscopy surgery was developed. The pump is driven by pneumatic air compressor and controlled by a stepper motor connected to an air regulator. Pressure control performance was observed to be similar compared to commercially available artheroscopy pumps. However, pressure pulses observed in the commercial pumps driven by multiple rollers disappeared in the pneumatically driven pump. The new pump required containers to enclose and squeeze saline solution packs. A dramatic saving in manufacture cost is expected considering the simple pneumatic drive used in this pump.

  • 최근 초고속 압축기와 같은 다양한 분야에서 대용량 초고속 모터 드라이브 시스템이 많이 사용되고 있다. 이러한 시스템에 사용되는 초고속 전동기는 정격 회전 속도가 수만 r/min에 이르며, 작은 인덕턴스 값을 가지는 것이 특징이다. 따라서 초고속 전동기의 고정자(Stator)에는 큰 맥동(ripple) 성분을 가지는 전류가 흐르게 되며, 이로 인해 발열, 손실등의 문제가 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 결합(coupled inductor)를 이용하여 대용량 인버터를 병렬 운전하는 방법을 제안하고, 이를 통해 초고속 전동기의 고정자에 흐르는 전류 맥동의 크기를 감소시키고자 한다. 제안된 방법은 실험을 통해 그 타당성을 검증한다.

  • This paper proposes a maximum torque operation strategy for the direct torque control of a surface-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM). The proposed method analyzes the available operation region of the stator flux of the SPMSM under voltage and current constraints. Based on this analysis, the optimal stator flux trajectory that yields the maximum torque is obtained across the entire operation region, including constant torque and constant power regions. The proposed strategy is also applicable in the flux-weakening region II operation of the SPMSM, which has no speed limit. The validity of the proposed method is verified through experiments conducted on an 800 W SPMSM drive system.

  • To reduce the size and cost of motor driving systems, several methods for driving multiple parallel-connected motors with a single inverter have been proposed. However, dual PMSMs driven by a single inverter, unlike induction motors, have a problem with instability due to system resonance caused by disturbances such as load imbalance and tolerances between two motors. To drive dual SPMSMs fed by a single inverter, this paper proposes an active damping algorithm to effectively suppress resonance by using one-sided sensorless speed control and position difference estimation. By deriving rotor position difference from d-q current differences between two motors, the proposed method is affected less by position difference estimation errors and is simpler than dual sensorless position estimation.

  • In this paper, the thrust control of PWM Inverter-Fed SLIM(Single-sided Linear Induction Motor) is achieved with Space Vector control and PI control. The trembling of air gap length which is occurred between the primary winding core and the secondary structure of the SLIM must be minimized in order to get quick response characteristics. First, the equivalent circuits and voltage equations of SLIM are shown on th suitable d-q axis which analyze characteristics of the thrust and the normal force. Also, modeling and analysis of the equivalent circuits transferred d-q axis are able to make robust transient torque from the current regulation in the equivalent circuit. These results exemplified the direct drive of SLIM with the reference speed and torque were verified by experiments.

  • The vibration of meshing gear system is originated form teeth deformation, teeth contact ratio, profile error, etc. The gear vibration is classified as whine vibration during meshing and as rattle vibration during idling. In this study, the whine vibration is investigated under the assumption of piecewise linearity of elastic stiffness due to the variation of meshing. Numerical, theoretical and experimental investigations show the existence of the superharmonic components of the second and the third order. consistently It can be concluded that the superharmonic components in whine vibration of meshing gear is originated from the stiffness variation. It also shows that the higher order harmonics are reduced on the increase of motor speed.
