The robustness and reliability of vision algorithms is the key issue in robotic research and industrial applications. In this paper robust real time visual tracking in complex scene is considered. A common approach to increase robustness of a tracking system is the use of different model (CAD model etc.) known a priori. Also fusion or multiple features facilitates robust detection and tracking of objects in scenes of realistic complexity. Voting-based fusion of cues is adapted. In voting. a very simple or no model is used for fusion. The approach for this algorithm is tested in a 3D Cartesian robot which tracks a toy vehicle moving along 3D rail, and the Kalman filter is used to estimate the motion parameters. namely the system state vector of moving object with unknown dynamics. Experimental results show that fusion of cues and motion estimation in a tracking system has a robust performance.

A non-contact 6D motion tracking system is proposed. The system consists of two color cameras, a color image grabber and a host computer, Motions of a floating vessel was measured by the constructed system. The instantaneous forces of the floating vessel are analyzed. The floating vessel was put on the water in a small water container in free conditions. The measured forces are reconstructed by the measurement results. The system can be used to non-contact measurements for 6D dynamic analysis of floating vessels.

This paper describes a robust control scheme for high-speed and long stroke scanning motion of high precision linear motor system consisting of linear motor, air bearing guide and position measurement system using heterodyne interferometer. Nowadays, semiconductor process and inspection of wafer or LCD need high speed and long travel length for their high throughput and extremely small velocity fluctuations or tracking errors. In order to satisfy these conditions, linear motor system are widely used because they have large thrust force and do not need motion conversion mechanisms such as ball screw, rack & pinion or capstan with which the system are burdened. However linear motors have a problem called force ripple. Force ripple deteriorates the tracking performances and makes periodic position errors. So, force ripple must be compensated. To maximize the tracking performance of linear motor system, we propose the control scheme which is composed of a robust control method, Time Delay Controller (TDC) and a feedforward control method, Zero Phase Error Tracking Control (ZPETC) for accurate tracking a given trajectory and an adaptive force ripple compensation (AFC) algorithm fur estimating and compensating force ripple. The adaptive ripple compensation is continuously refined on the basis of tracking error. Computer simulation results based on modeled parameters verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme for high-speed, long stroke and high precision scanning motion and show that the proposed control scheme can achieve a sup error tracking performance in comparison to conventional TDC control.

A parking-assist system is defined that a driver adjusts vehicle velocity through brake pedal operation and parking-assist system controls the motion of the vehicle to follow a collision-free path. In this study, a motion control algorithm using Fuzzy inference is proposed to track a maneuvering clothoid parallel path. Simulations are performed under SIMULINK environments using MATLAB and CarSim for a vehicle model. As the vehicle model in MATLAB a bicycle model is used including lateral dynamics. The simulation results show that the path tracking performance is satisfactory under various driving and initial conditions.
Surveillance system on the internet has attained lots of interests recently. Computer gives surveillance system various functions like remote control and motion detecting. In this paper. auto target tracking system using Pan/Tilt camera is suggested. It consists of UNIX server and Pan/Tilt camera. When UNIX server detect motions from images it sends Pan/Tilt command to camera and camera moves by command. After finishing movement camera replies to server and server starts detecting motion again. To improve performance of motion detecting and tracking images are divided into 9 sub-regions and camera behaves differently. It is certain that robust tracking is achieved when sub-region is applied.
In this paper, we propose a Motion Vector-based Particle Filter(MVPF) for object tracking on bitstreams and a object tracking system using the MVPF. The MVPF uses motion vectors to both the transition and the observation models of a general particle filter to improve the accuracy while maintaining the number of particles. In the proposed object tracking system, the state of the target object can be predicted using the histogram of motion vectors extracted from the bitstream. In terms of precision, F-measure and IOU(Intersection Of Union), the proposed method is about 30%, 17%, and 17% better on average, respectively, in MPEG test sequences and VOT2013 sequences. Furthermore, When the tracking results are displayed in box form for subjective performance evaluation, the proposed method can track moving objects more robust than the conventional methods in all test sequences.
A vehicle cruise control algorithm using an Interacting Multiple Model (IMM)-based Multi-Target Tracking (MTT) method has been presented in this paper. The vehicle cruise control algorithm consists of three parts; track estimator using IMM-Probabilistic Data Association Filter (PDAF), a primary target vehicle determination algorithm and a single-target adaptive cruise control algorithm. Three motion models; uniform motion, lane-change motion and acceleration motion, have been adopted to distinguish large lateral motions from longitudinal motions. The models have been validated using simulated and experimental data. The improvement in the state estimation performance when using three models is verified in target tracking simulations. The performance and safety benefits of a multi-model-based MTT-ACC system is investigated via simulations using real driving radar sensor data. These simulations show system response that is more realistic and reflective of actual human driving behavior.
Friction phenomenon can be described as two parts which are pre-sliding and sliding regions. In motion of the sliding region, friction forces depend on the velocity of the system and are known as Coulomb, stick-slip, stribeck effect and viscous friction. The pre-sliding region, which is before breakaway, depends on the position of the system. The motion of friction in the sliding region can be described as the LuGre model. But the pre-sliding motion of friction, which has hysteresis characteristics in general, is not known widely. Therefore, an improved friction model, which can describe the motion of friction in the pre-sliding region, is proposed in this paper. And simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed friction model for precise tracking control systems.

An Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)-based Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) can calculate attitude and heading information with long-term accuracy and stability by combining gyro, accelerometer, and magnetic compass signals. Motivated by this characteristic of the AHRS, this paper presents a Motion-Tracking and Localization (MTL) method for a person or walking robot using multi-AHRSs. Five AHRSs are attached to the two calves, two thighs, and waist of a person/walking robot. Joints, links, and coordinate frames are defined on the body. The outputs of the AHRSs are integrated with link data. In addition, a supporting foot is distinguished from a moving foot. With this information, the locations of the joints on the local coordinate frame are calculated. The experimental results show that the presented MTL method can track the motion of and localize a person/walking robot with long-term accuracy in an infra-less environment.
