  • This paper proposes a real-time algorithm for tracking the fast moving human body. Although Iterative closest point (ICP) algorithm is suitable for real-time tracking due to its efficiency and low computational complexity, ICP often fails to converge when the human body moves fast because the closest point may be mistakenly selected and trapped in a local minimum. To overcome such limitation, we combine a particle filter based on a motion history information with the ICP. The proposed human body motion tracking algorithm reduces the search space for each limb by employing a hierarchical tree structure, and enables tracking of the fast moving human bodies by using the motion prediction based on the motion history. Experimental results show that the proposed human body motion tracking provides accurate tracking performance and fast convergence rate.

  • Consider the mean distance of Brownian motion on Riemannian manifolds. We obtain the first three terms of the asymptotic expansion of the mean distance by means of Stochastic Differential Equation(SDE) for Brownian motion on Riemannian manifold. This method proves to be much simpler for further expansion than the methods developed by Liao and Zheng(1995). Our expansion gives the same characterizations as the mean exit time from a small geodesic ball with regard to Euclidean space and the rank 1 symmetric spaces.

  • In this paper we present new idea to highly compress the images. The previous image is transformed with wavelet and the transformed data are transmitted. The previous image is subtracted from the next image. Then difference values per pixel are scanned to search motion areas and boundaries. In the motion boundaries, motion vectors and error values are transformed with wavelet and transmitted. We also include camera motion estimation and compensation. In this method this system has advantages of more compressive data, better quality of picture and shorter processing time compared to MPEG2, MPEG4.

  • LCDs show motion image blur due to slow response time and a hold-type driving method. In this paper, we investigate motion blur phenomena and quantitatively show that the motion blur can be significantly reduced through a combination of dynamic capacitance compensation (DCC) and black data insertion.

  • Recently As the performance of the personal computer has been improving rapidly lots of research for the pc-based numerical computer actively progress in an easy repair maintenance and improving the performance with less cost. This paper presents the design using complex programmable logic device(CPLD). The CPU of Motion Controller that function as the real time control of the independent multi-axis motion the error-detect module and external I/O control made use of 80C196KC, In this paper The PC-NC effectively distributed to the load of NCK(numerical computer kernel) and have the advantage of high speed and precision.

  • In this paper, we propose a new algorithm of image depth detection using motion estimation and object tracking. In industry, robots are used for automobile, conveyer system, etc. But, these have much necessary time. Thus, in this paper, we develop the efficient method of image depth detection based on motion estimation and object tracking.

  • Dynamic stability of an oscillating cantilever plate is investigated in this paper. The equations of motion include harmonically oscillating parameters which originate from the motion-induced stiffness variation. Using the multiple scale perturbation method is employed to obtain a stability diagram. The tability diagram shows that relatively large unstable regions exist when the frequency of oscillation is near twice the frequencies of the 1st torsion natural mode and the 1st chordwide bending mode.

  • In this study, I employed the autoregressive model and the geometric Brownian motion model to analyze the recent stock prices of Korea. For all 7 series of stock prices(or index) the geometric Brownian motion model gives better predicted values compared with the autoregressive model when we use smaller number of observations.

  • Motion Graphics are a great effective vehicle for precise communication between customers in various media and formats. The important thing in the expression of Motion Graphics is to deliver messages clearly. Some current Motion Graphics which are focused on only attracting attention or sensational expressions more than narrative are evaluated lower. This study aims to utilize easy and positive Motion Graphics to deliver messages by applying their utility to production of Motion Graphics, omitting time spent on delivering effective messages and analyzing their suggestive expression methods because of the nature of producing Motion Graphics. This thesis is to study several theoretical backgrounds of omission and implicated expressions mentioned in the similar studies from the view of Motion Graphics, and to search applied examples and functional things using the expression methods in some film title sequence. Excellent Motion Graphics use planned omission and implicated methods rather than to use entire narratives or complicated descriptions. Especially, a film title sequence should focus on symbolic visual expressions. They are necessary to attract the audience's interest. To overcome the limitation of time and space deliver a huge amount of information quickly and powerfully, Motion Graphics should properly use omission of image and time and suggestive expressions through symbols and metaphors. Then they will have a role to level up their current values and discussions.

  • Using the finite element method, this study investigates the dynamic time responses of a flexible spinning disk of which axis of rotation is misaligned with the axis of symmetry. The misalignment between the axes of symmetry and rotation is one of the major vibration sources in optical disk drives such as CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW and DVD drives. Based upon the Kirchhoff plate theory and the von-Karman strain theory, three coupled equations of motion for the misaligned disk are obtained: two of the equations are for the in-plane motion while the other is for the out-of-plane motion. After transforming these equations into two weak forms for the in-plane and out-of-plane motions, the weak forms are discretized by using newly defined annular sector finite elements. Applying the generalized-$\alpha$ time integration method to the discretized equations, the time responses and the displacement distributions are computed and then the effects of the misalign ment on the responses and the distributions are analyzed. The computation results show that the misalignment has an influence on the magnitudes of the in-plane displacements and it results in the amplitude modulation or the beat phenomenon in the time responses of the out-of-plane displacement.
