  • Spectral features of the seismic wave propagation from Odaesan Earthquake were evaluated based on the commonly treated random error between the observed data and the prediction values by the stochastic point-source ground-motion spectral model regarding the source, path and site effects. Radiation pattern of the error according to azimuth angle was found to be similar to the theoretical estimate. It was also observed that the spatial distribution of the errors was correlated with the geological map and the Q0 map which are indicatives of seismic boundaries.

  • This presents a motion and force estimation system of human fingers by using an Electromyography (EMG) sensor module and a data glove system to be proposed in this paper. Both EMG sensor module and data glove system are developed in such a way to minimize the number of hardware filters in acquiring the signals as well as to reduce their sizes for the wearable. Since the onset of EMG precedes the onset of actual finger movement by dozens to hundreds milliseconds, we show that it is possible to predict the pattern of finger movement before actual movement by using the suggested system. Also, we are to suggest how to estimate the grasping force of hand based on the relationship between RMS taken EMG signal and the applied load. Finally we show the effectiveness of the suggested estimation system through several experiments.

  • In this paper, the Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM) which is very robust modeling for pattern classification is proposed to classify wrist motions using surface electromyograms(EMG). EMG is widely used to recognize wrist motions such as up, down, left, right, rest, and is obtained from two electrodes placed on the flexor carpi ulnaris and extensor carpi ulnaris of 15 subjects under no strain condition during wrist motions. Also, EMG-based feature is derived from extracted EMG signals in time domain for fast processing. The estimated features based in difference absolute mean value(DAMV) are used for motion classification through GMM. The performance of our approach is evaluated by recognition rates and it is found that the proposed GMM-based method yields better results than conventional schemes including k-Nearest Neighbor(k-NN), Quadratic Discriminant Analysis(QDA) and Linear Discriminant Analysis(LDA).

  • In recent years, the importance of the characterization of fall for a fracture prevention system keeps increasing since fracture from a fall can lead to serious health problems. Fall is one of the major sources which increase morbidity in elderly people. In terms of the cost and the influence to the quality of life, the most serious injury with hip fractures is caused by falls. The traditional methods in characterizing fall patterns have been mainly by the epidemiological surveys. With surveys, the exact data of fall patterns can not been acquired. In this paper, we measured and analyzed with the parameters related to fall pattern such as velocities and accelerations during the motion of falls using 3D motion capture program. We acquired the parameters of the fall pattern of intentional and unexpected fall. The result showed that the variation of velocity and acceleration during fall was very important in characterizing fall pattern, which of vital importance for the development of a fracture prevention system and for the safety of the elderly.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of modified golf swing training on gait characteristic in hemiplegic patient through Kwon 3D motion analysis system. Methods: This study has performed single subject design from September to October 2008. The subject had left hemiplegia due to CVA in December 2003. He has treated Bobath approach twice a week. In order to increase ankle dorsiflexion and knee flexion, the subject has applied modified golf swing training on the basis of Bobath approach. The measurement of gait characteristic was taken by Kwon 3D motion analysis system. Results: The results were as follows : 1) Walking velocity was increased 0.62m/sec than before the training. 2) Step length was increased 0.09m than before the training. 3) Left ankle and hip angle were increased, but left knee angle was decreased. Conclusion: It could be concluded that the activity modified golf swing training in walking pattern contributed to improve the movement quality and speed of gait.

  • This study is to research on the rate of expansion or contraction according to movement of the lower body of the man their twenties using Rapid Form software. And aim of this study is to get information of ease allowance in developing slacks pattern using 3D body surface scan data through comparison with existing slacks patterns. Considering on the contraction and expansion according to movement, it need to set the more ease allowance in hip circumference than waist circumference, and the more ease allowance in back hip width than front hip width in slacks. In crotch length, the length of front crotch is revealed contraction but the length of back crotch is revealed expansion. It is desirable lowering front waist line and raising back waist line to possess ease allowance in back crotch area. The length of side seam is revealed a little expansion but the length of inseam is showed a great expansion. To develop slacks pattern of scientific approach using 3D body surface scan data, it need to analysis the rate of expansion and contraction of the lower body based on the movement, shear deformation, slip in fabrics and skin, or in fabrics and fabrics, and slip down from waist line.

  • The purpose of this study was to develops of brassiere pattern for middle school students (15 ages ${\mp}$ 3). In order to design a brassiere pattern, the body surface shell was used as the basic pattern. The foundation pattern and the four-piece brassiere pattern with wire were designed and sewed. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. The foundation pattern of the size 75A was proved proper for the body by the wearing tests. Each angle and length of the parts on the base line of the breasts played an important role on setting the pattern. 2. As based on the body surface shell extracted from a plaster mold, the cups of brassiere pattern were applied to the body surface shell, and full side stretch -wings were applied to 8% reduced body size. 3. As the result of the wearing test, the excellence of the experimental brassiere was recognized objectively, with high marks in all the items of clothing compensation, body motion, clothing pressure and breasts growth. The experimental brassiere was covering the whole breasts to cope with change according to breasts growth, It was designed to support the breasts firmly, not to press the middle part of them. Simultaneously, this has the advantages that satisfy a characteristic of a figure and the purpose of putting it on.

  • Depending on the characteristics of each 3D-DCT block, images can be classified into three types: images with motion and textures, images with high textures and little motion, images with little textures and little motion. In this paper, we propose an adaptive watermarking method using these characteristics of each 3D-DCT block. and the human visual system. The proposed method classifies patterns of 3D-DCT blocks based on the motion and texture information, and classifies the image type according to the ratio of these patterns. The watermark is inserted proportional to the 3D-DCT coefficients by using pattern adaptive JND, which. makes the proposed watermarking robust by inserting watermarks in as many blocks as possible. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better performance in terms of invisibility and robustness than the previous method.

  • In this Paper, a beat recognition method from a sequence of images of conducting person was proposed. Hand position was detected using color discrimination, and symbolized by quantization. Then a motion of the conductor was represented as a sequence of symbols. HMM (Hidden Markov Model), which is excellent for recognition of sequence pattern with some level of variation, was used to recognize the sequence of symbols to be a motion for a beat.
