Insect flight is adapted to cope with each circumstance by controlling a variety of the parameters of wing motion in nature. Many researchers have struggled to solve the fundamental concept of insect flight, but it has not been solved yet clearly. In this study, to find the most effective flapping wing kinematics, we conducted to analyze CFD data on fixing some of the optimal parameters of wing motion such as stoke amplitude, flip duration and wing rotation type and then controlled the deviation angle by fabricating wing tip motion. Although all patterns have the similar value of lift coefficient and drag coefficient, pattern A(pear-shape type) indicates the highest lift coefficient and pattern H(pear-shape type) has the lowest lift coefficient among four wing tip motions and three deviation angles. This result suggest that the lift and drag coefficient depends on the angle of attack and the deviation angle combined, and it could be explained by delayed stall effect.
This paper reveals theoretical research to the nonlinear dynamic response and initial geometric imperfections sensitivity of the spinning graphene platelets reinforced metal foams (GPLRMF) cylindrical shell under different boundary conditions in thermal environment. For the theoretical research, with the framework of von-Karman geometric nonlinearity, the GPLRMF cylindrical shell model which involves Coriolis acceleration and centrifugal acceleration caused by spinning motion is assumed to undergo large deformations. The coupled governing equations of motion are deduced using Euler-Lagrange principle and then solved by a combination of Galerkin's technique and modified Lindstedt Poincare (MLP) model. Furthermore, the impacts of a set of parameters including spinning velocity, initial geometric imperfections, temperature variation, weight fraction of GPLs, GPLs distribution pattern, porosity distribution pattern, porosity coefficient and external excitation amplitude on the nonlinear harmonic resonances of the spinning GPLRMF cylindrical shells are presented.

This study was conducted in order to analyze draping and flat pattern according to jacket design, and provide basic materials for developing a jacket pattern that can enhance fitness, functionality, and aesthetic expression of clothes by reflecting esthetic expression of draping and efficiency of flat pattern at the same time. For the experimental jacket designs of a one-piece sleeve jacket and a two-piece sleeve jacket were selected among the entries of the designer Rubina for 2014 F/W Seoul Fashion Week. Designer brand Rubina usually produced clothes using draping and the designer brand company provided the experimental patterns for the study. We also had flat patterns of the same design and size specifications designed by a flat patternmaker who has 30 year-experience in flat pattern like Rubina. The test apparel jacket was made of 20's cotton yarns. Three models wore the jackets and evaluation on appearance fitness was conducted by 7 members in an expert panel group from August 10, 2015 to September 10, 2015. As a result of appearance fitness analysis on one-piece sleeve jacket, there were significant difference in 4 items among 17 items in terms of overall appearance. The appearance of jackets by draping had higher score than those using flat pattern. As for two-piece sleeve jacket, there were significant differences in 7 items among 17 items related to overall appearance. As for the items related to sleeve, 5 items out of 13 showed significant differences. Except for one item, appearance of jackets using draping had higher score than flat pattern. As for motion fitness, draping was evaluated to be more comfortable. Applying the items with high scores in appearance and motion fitness in draping to flat pattern, The study suggests a new jacket pattern development that would increase the satisfaction of consumers for future research.
Objective: To compare head and hand movement patterns during squash forehand motions between experts and less-skilled squash players. Method: Four experts and four less-skilled squash players participated in this study. They performed squash forehand swings and a VICON motion analysis system was used to obtain displacement and velocity data of the head and right hand during the movement. Mann-Whitney U-tests were performed to compare head and hand range of motion and peak velocity, and cross-correlation was performed to analyze the head-hand coordination pattern between groups in three movement directions. Results: In terms of head and hand kinematic data, experts had greater head range of motion during down swings than less-skilled squash players. Experts seemed to reach peak hand velocity at impact by reaching peak head velocity followed by hand peak velocity within a given temporal sequence. In terms of head-hand coordination patterns, both groups revealed high positive correlations in the medial-lateral direction, indicating a dominant allocentric coordination pattern. However, experts had uncoupled coordination patterns in the vertical direction and less-skilled squash players had high positive correlations. These results indicate that the head-hand movement pattern likely an important factor squash forehand movement. Conclusion: Analysis of head and hand movement patterns could be a key variable in squash training to reach expert-level performance.
Motion Estimation which is used to reduce the redundant data plays an important role in video compressions. However, it requires huge computational complexity of the encoder part. And therefore many fast motion estimation methods has been developed to reduce complexity. Multi-view video is obtained by using many cameras at different positions and its complexity increases in proportion to the number of cameras. In this paper, we proposed a fast motion estimation method for multi-view video. The proposed method predicts a search start point by using correlated candidate vectors of the current block. According to the motion size of the start search point, a search start pattern of the current block is decided adaptively. The proposed method proves to be about 2 ~ 5 times faster than existing methods while maintaining similar image quality and bitrates.

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of Spine-Pelvis Monitor(SPM) that was developed to measure 3-dimensional motion of spine and pelvis using tilt sensor and gyro sensor. Background: The main cause of low back pain is very much associated with the task using the low back and pelvis, but no measurement technique can quantify the both spine and pelvis. Method: For testing the SPM, 125 angles from three anatomical planes were measured three times in order to evaluate the accuracy and reliability. The accuracy of SPM in measuring dynamic motion was evaluated using digital motion analysis system. The motion pattern captured by two measuring methods was compared with each other. In result, the percentage error and Cronbach coefficient alpha were calculated to evaluate the accuracy and reliability. Results: The percentage error was 0.35% in flexion-extension on sagittal plane, 0.43% in lateral bending on coronal plane, and 0.40% in twisting on transverse plane. The Cronbach coefficient alpha was 1.00, 0.99 and 0.99 in sagittal, coronal and transvers plane, respectively. Conclusion: The SPM showed less than 1% error for static measurement, and showed reasonably similar pattern with the digital motion system. Application: The results of this study showed that the SPM can be the measuring method of spine pelvis motion that enhances the kinematic analysis of low back dynamics.
Although Motion estimation (ME) plays an important role in digital video compression, it requires a complicated search procedure to find an optimal motion vector. Multi-view video is obtained by capturing one three-dimensional scene with many cameras at different positions. The computational complexity of motion estimation for Multi-view video coding increases in proportion to the number of cameras. To reduce computational complexity and maintain the image quality, a low complexity motion estimation search method is proposed in this paper. The proposed search method consists of four-grid diamond search patten, two-gird diamond search pattern and TZ 2 Point search pattern. These search patterns exploit the characteristics of the distribution of motion vectors to place the search points. Experiment results show that the speedup improvement of the proposed method over TZ search method (JMVC) can be up to 1.8~4.5 times faster by reducing the computational complexity and the image quality degradation is about to 0.01~0.24 (dB).

In POCS (projection onto convex sets)-based reconstruction of HR (high resolution) image, the quality of reconstructed image is gradually improved through iterative motion estimation and image restoration. The amount of computation, however, increases because of the repeated inter-frame motion estimation. In this paper, an HR reconstruction algorithm is proposed where modified ARPS (adaptive rood pattern search) and POCS are simultaneously performed. In the modified ARPS, the motion estimates obtained from phase correlation or from the previous steps in POCS restoration are utilized as the initial reference in the motion estimation. Moreover, estimated motion is regularized with reference to the neighboring blocks' motion to enhance the reliability. Computer simulation results show that, when compared to conventional methods which are composed of full search block matching and POCS restoration, the proposed method is about 30 times faster and yet produces HR images of almost equal or better quality.
The purpose of this paper is to diagnose the errors by comparing putting motion with the single pendulum pattern applicable to putting in golf skill and order prescription that correct errors of putting. In the modern-day game of golf, putting remains the key to shooting low scores, and the ability to hole putts can turn a good round into a great round A semi-golfer, subject(sex female, age 20yrs, mass 94.3kg, height 1.65m) who has troubles to do putting is chosen. Six cameras, ProReflex MCU240(240Hz) made by Qualisys company is used to capture putting motion and data is processed by QTM(Qualisys Track Manager) and Mathematica 5.0. The result that differentiates the putting and the single pendulum pattern is acquired To make the pattern of subject's putting to the single pendulum pattern quasi-equal, one tries to lower center of mass gradually. As a result of it, one has a similar pattern like the single pendulum Conclusively, to lower C.O.M one orders prescriptions that increase the weight and length of a putter and lower C.O.M subject's segment. Further improvements to the study could be to train a subject according to prescriptions and to monitor putting again. It will probably be necessary to simulate putting motions and to research relations for body shapes and putting patterns in order to establish suitable putting-motions.
Purpose: The study aims to examine the effects of the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation pattern exercise and scrambler therapy on pain, range of motion (ROM), and shoulder dysfunction in breast cancer patients. Methods: In total, 30 breast cancer patients were recruited and randomized to group I (n = 10), group II (n = 10), and group III (n = 10). Pain was measured using a visual analogue scale, ROM was measured using a goniometer, and shoulder dysfunction was measured using a shoulder pain and disability index. Group I practiced the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation pattern exercise and underwent scrambler therapy, group II underwent scrambler therapy only, and group III practiced the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation pattern exercise only. Results: A within-groups comparison showed that all groups demonstrated significant differences in pain, ROM, and shoulder dysfunction after the experiment (p<0.05). Further, according to a comparison of the three groups, group I showed a more significant difference in effectiveness than groups II and III in terms of pain, ROM, and shoulder dysfunction before and after the experiment (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study showed that the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation pattern exercise and scrambler therapy are effective in treating pain, ROM issues, and shoulder dysfunction in breast cancer patients.
