유비쿼터스 환경에서 사용 가능한 핸드 헬드형 3차원 움직임 추적장치 (A Handheld 3-Dimensional Motion Tracking Device for Ubiquitous Computing Environment)

  • This paper describes a design experience of a low-cost 6 DOF spatial tracker system where relative low accuracy and relatively long ranges, wireless communication will be achieved by means of low cost accelerometers and gyros with contemporary microprocessor. However, there are two key problems; one is the bias drift problem and the other is that single or double integration of acceleration signal suffers not only from noise but also from nonlinear effects caused by gravity. To be specific, beginning and stopping of hand motions needs to be accurately detected to initiate and terminate integration process to get position and pose of the hand from accelerometer and gyro signals, since errors due to noise and/or hand-shaking motions accumulated by integration processes. Several experimental results are shown to validate our proposed algorithms.

  • Micro spherical lens mold processing method based on mechanical one completes a spherical shape by setting a diamond tool of hundreds $\mu$m radius on spins with high speed and then using Z-axis vertical feeding motion like the fabrication of micro drilling. In this method, we can see unprocessed parts shaped like cylinder and cone and check increasing chatter marks and burrs by setting errors of the central axis of rotation on the edge of the tool. That is why this method doesn't suit for the optical lens mold. In this paper presents unprocessed parts are disappeared and chatter marks and burrs are decreased from centre of the lens after using Run-out measuring and setting system on run-out occurred from setting tool. Also the fabrication characteristics of 6:4 Brass, A1601, PMMA are compared and analyzed, establishing the optimum machining condition on each material.

고정밀 고속 윤곽가공을 위한 3축 연동제어기 (3-Axis Coupling Controller for High-Precision/High-Speed Contour Machining)

  • This paper proposes a three-axis coupling controller designed to improve the contouring accuracy in machining of 3D nonlinear contours. The proposed coupling controller is based on an innovative 3D contour error model and a PID control law. The novel contour error model provides almost exact calculation of contour errors in real-time for arbitrary contours and can be integrated with any type of existing interpolator. In the proposed method, three axes of motion are coordinated by the proposed coupling controller along with a proportional controller for each axis. The proposed contour error model and coupling controller are evaluated through computer simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed 3-axis coupling controller with the new contour error model substantially can improve the contouring accuracy by order of magnitude compared with the existing uncoupled controllers in high-speed machining of nonlinear contours.

유리창 청소 로봇의 이동 메커니즘 제안 (Proposal of Moving Mechanism of Window Cleaning Robot)

  • Recently researches on the window cleaning robot are being conducted actively. Moving mechanismsof these window cleaning robots are divided into two categories, which are towed type and walking type. Towed type is focused on fast cleaning on the flat surface of building and walking type has priority on cleaning task on relatively complex surface with overcoming obstacles. Currently commercialized towed type window cleaning robot has weakness that it is hard to adhere closely with the wall and easy to be affected by wind. In case of walking type it has the problem that the position errors are continuously accumulated during motion. In this paper, we propose new towed and walking type mechanism which can compensate previous weaknesses. After that we estimate the performance of each proposed mechanism by simulation.

  • As the spatial resolution of remote sensing satellites becomes higher, very accurate determination of the position of a LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite is demanding more than ever. Non-symmetric Earth gravity is the major perturbation force to LEO satellites. Since the orbit propagation is performed in the celestial frame while Earth gravity is defined in the terrestrial frame, it is required to convert the coordinates of the satellite from one to the other accurately. Unless the coordinate conversion between the two frames is performed accurately the orbit propagation calculates incorrect Earth gravitational force at a specific time instant, and hence, causes errors in orbit prediction. The coordinate conversion between the two frames involves precession, nutation, Earth rotation and polar motion. Among these factors, unpredictability and uncertainty of Earth rotation, called UTI-UTC, is the largest error source. In this paper, the effect of UTI-UTC on the accuracy of the LEO propagation is introduced, tested and analzed. Considering the maximum unpredictability of UTI-UTC, 0.9 seconds, the meaningful order of non-spherical Earth harmonic functions is derived.

단기선 (SBL) 음향위치 시스템의 정도 개선 (Improvement of the Accuracy of Short Baseline Acoustic Positioning System)

  • 수중음향 위치시스템은 해상뿐만 아니라 수중 표적의 위치 측정에 널리 쓰이고 있다. 최근에 이러한 시스템은 해양 시설물의 설치나 수중 구조물의 검사 등 여러 분야에서 응용되고 있다. 그러나, 이들 시스템은 잡음이 섞인 수신 신호와 파랑에 의한 측정 선박의 불규칙한 운동 등으로 인하여 위치 오차를 포함하고 있기 때문에, 이 논문에서는 위치의 정도를 높이기 위하여 단기선(SBL) 음향 위치 시스템에 칼만 필터를 적용시켰다. 필터에 의해 결정된 최적 위치는 원래의 잡음이 섞인 위치보다 개선된 것을 시뮬레이션과 기존의 실측 자료를 이용하여 비교 확인하였다.

  • The occurrence of a single bit error in transmission bitstream leads to serious temporal and spatial errors. Because moving picture coding as MPEG-2 based on block coding algorithm uses variable length coding and motion compensation coding algorithm. In this paper, we propose algorithm to conceal occurred error of I-frames in transmission channel using data of the neighboring blocks in decoder. We divide a damaged macroblock of I-frame into four sub blocks and compose new macroblock using the neighboring blocks for each sub block. We estimate the block with minimum difference value through block matching with previous frame for new macroblocks and replace each estimated block with damaged sub block in the same position. Through simulation results, the proposed algorithm will be applied to a characteristic of moving with effect and shows better performance than conventional error concealment algorithms from visual and PSNR of view.

Varying skill prameter based on error signal and its effect

  • In this paper, we proposed an adaptive skill element based on error signal. We assume that human progress their skills of actions based on errors, then an inverse dynamic of human motion have to changes. Human controller consists from feedback element (FB) and feed forward element (FF) and their elements cooperate to control actions. Under the assumption, we vary the connection of FF and FB by error signal. We propose the index function for change of a skill parameter. From results of the numerical simulations for the varying skill parameter with index function, we consider that the position error given by our vision changes the skill element and we confirm that the position error is the one of the estimate function for the improvement in our skill.

  • Optical flow는 물체의 속도 결정과 추적 뿐만 아니라 영상분할과 물체의 3차원 정보로서도 중요하다. 순차적인 영상으로부터 optical flow를 계산하기 위하여 경사법 알고리듬이 많이 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 경사법의 문제점인 영상전체에 대한 속도벡터의 평활화 현상을 국부적으로 한정시키기 위하여 스칼라 경계선을 이용하는 새로운 주위평균 계산방법을 제시하였으며, optical flow의 분산의 역치로 가중된 평균을 이용하여 이동경계 주위와 폐색영역에서 발생되는 속도오차를 감소시켰다.

  • The design and implementation of a drive wheel position, orientation, and velocity feedback control algorithm for a differential-drive mobile robot is described here. A new concept, the most significant error, is introduced as the control design objective. Drive wheel position, orientation, and velocity feedback control directly minimize the most siginificant error by coordinating the motion of the two drive wheels. The drive wheel position, orientation, and velocity feedback control algorithm is analyzed and experiments are conducted to evaluate its performance. The experimental results are shown that drive wheel position, orientation and velocity feedback control algorithm yields substantially smaller position and orientation errors than those of conventional methods.
