  • In this paper, I propose a video watermaking method using adaptive threshold value and half-cell motion vector. Conventional method cause a lot of change of motion vectors and bring about a falling-off in invisibility, because it search embedding condition about whole macroblocks and watermarks are embedded in arbitrary motion vectors. Proposed method improve invisibility and decrease in number of change of motion vectors, because it create threshold value by using power of motion vector(PMV), and watermarks are embedded in motion vectors which greater than threshold value. Consequently, proposed method improve invisibility with on an average 5.4 dB ~9.3dB according to video bit-stream.

  • COMS(Communication, Oceanography, and Meteorology Satellite) is the first Korean multi-purpose satellite which is planned to be deployed at the altitude of geosynchronous orbit above the Korean peninsular. Noting that COMS is composed of the main BUS structure, two deployable solar panels, one yoke, five reactions wheels, COMS is treated as a collection of 9 bodies and its nonlinear equations of motion are obtained using the multi-body dynamics approach. Also, a computer program is developed to analyze the COMS motion during the various mission phase. Quite often, the equations of motion have to be derived repeatedly to reflect the fact that the spacecraft dynamics change as its configuration, and therefore its degree of freedom varies. However, the equations of motion and simulation software presented in this paper are general enough to represent the COMS dynamics of various configurations with a minimum change in input files. There is no need to derive the equations of motion repeatedly. To show the capability of the simulation program, the spacecraft motion during the solar array partial and full deployment has been simulated and the results are summarized in this paper.

  • This In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm for motion estimation of the image sequences with luminance fluctuation. For such sequences, conventional motion estimation methods based on the difference of pixel values usually produce the erroneous motion information. The proposed algorithm defines the luminance fluctuation as a linear model with gain and offset parameter, and extracts motion information using gradient and phase of the corresponding local region within consecutive frames. Therefor the method is robust to the luminance change of the frames. We test our algorithm for the ground truth sequence with artificially added luminance change and motion, and real sequences corrupted by the flicker. The results shows that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional methods.

  • Numerical analysis of vertical solidification process allowing solid-liquid density change is performed by a hybrid method between a winite volume method (FVM) and a finite element method (FEM). The investigation focuses on the influence of solid-liquid density change and cooling rates on the motion of solid-liquid interface, solidified mass fraction, temperatures and thermal stresses in the solid region. Due to the density change of pure aluminium, solid-liquid interface moves more slowly but the solidified mass fraction is larger. The cooling rate of the wall is shown to have a significant influence on the phase change heat transfer and thermal stresses, while the density change has a small influence on the motion of the interface, solidified mass fraction, temperature distributions and thermal stresses. As the cooling rate increases, the thermal stresses become higher at the early stage of a solidification process, but it has small influence on the final stresses as the steady state is reached.

  • Most current human action recognition methods based on deep learning methods. It is required, however, a very high computational cost. In this paper, we propose an action change detection method to reduce repetitive human action recognition tasks. In reality, simple actions are often repeated and it is time consuming process to apply high cost action recognition methods on repeated actions. The proposed method decides whether action has changed. The action recognition is executed only when it has detected action change. The action change detection process is as follows. First, extract the number of non-zero pixel from motion history image and generate one-dimensional time-series data. Second, detecting action change by comparison of difference between current time trend and local extremum of time-series data and threshold. Experiments on the proposed method achieved 89% balanced accuracy on action change data and 61% reduced action recognition repetition.

  • The development of paradoxical interventricular septal motion is a common consequence of cardiopulmonary bypass operation. The reason for this postoperative abnormal septal motion is not clear. 41 patients were studied preoperatively and postoperatively with radionuclide blood pool scan to evaluate the frequency of development of paradoxical septal motion with right ventricular volume overload before surgery and the frequency of development of paradoxical septal motion after cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass, and to evaluate the change of EF related to the development of paradoxical septal motion after cardiac surgery. The results were as follows; 1) 7 of 41 patients with right ventricular volume overload(that is 17%) showed paradoxical septal motion before surgery. But 13 of 34 patients(that is 42%) had paradoxical septal motion after cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass. So open heart surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass related the development of paradoxical septal motion after surgery. 2) EF significantly decreased in patients who developed paradoxical septal motion after surgery, whereas the EF did not change in the patients who retained normal interventricular septal motion after surgery. So paradoxical septal motion usually reflected some diminution of left ventricular function, immediately after cardiac surgery.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop learning materials for the discussion and examine the effects of the discussion learning over the students' conceptual change on force and motion. The subjects consisted of 360 middle school students, comprising of 5 discussion groups of 185 students and 5 traditional learning groups of 175 students. The results indicated that students in the discussion groups showed higher achievement than those in the traditional learning groups. Therefore this study supported the importance of discussion in conceptual change. However further research should be conducted to examine other educational effects of discussion.

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic-based compression system by creating mosaic background and transmitting the change information. A dynamic mosaic of the background is progressively integrated in a single image using the camera motion information. For the camera motion estimation, we calculate affine motion parameters for each frame sequentially with respect to its previous frame. The camera motion is robustly estimated on the background by discriminating between background and foreground regions. The modified block-based motion estimation is used to separate the back-ground region.

  • The flying height of contact slider is determined by vertical and pitching motions of slider. This paper performed the computer simulation for flying height change of contact slider. It is changed by many parameters, contact stiffness, contact damping, air bearing stiffness ratio, a location of mass center, and so on. Computer simulation is performed for knowing for what change of these parameters influences in flying height of contact slider. Disk surface is modeled in harmonic wave with from 10㎑ to 600㎑. Tri-pad slider is modeled in that contact slider has 2-DOF motion (vertical motion, pitching motion). Tri-pad contact slider is analyzed by numerical analysis method in computer simulation.

  • In this paper it is purpose that reduces joint torques and their rate of change through optimizing trajectory planning of biped walking machine. The motion of biped walking machine is divided into leg motion for walking and body motion for keeping balance. The leg motion is planned by three phases, that are deploy, swing, and place phases, in terms of the state of foot against floor. The distribution of time assigned to each phase is optimized and that causes leg joint torques and their rate of change to minimize. The body notion is produced by using optimal control theory which minimizes body joint torques and satisfies Z.M.P. constraints defined as region of each phase.
