This paper introduces multifractal processes and presents the empirical investigation of the multifractal asset pricing. The multifractal stock price process contains long-tails which focus on Levy-Stable distributions. The process also contains long-dependence, which is the characteristic feature of fractional Brownian motion. Multifractality introduces a new source of heterogeneity through time-varying local reqularity in the price path. This paper investigates multifractality in stock prices. After finding evidence of multifractal scaling, the multifractal spectrum is estimated via the Legendre transform. The distinguishing feature of the multifractal process is multiscaling of the return distribution's moments under time-resealing. More intensive study is required of estimation techniques and inference procedures.
Objectives The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of MSAT (Mostion style acuputure treatment) on piriformis muscle regarding leg radiating pain with HIVD of L-SPINE. Methods Forty patients who received inpatient treatment from Febuarary 1 to March 31, 2014 in the Daejon-Jaseng oriental medicine hospital were divided into 2 groups by blocked randomization : Group A (n=20)=routine treatment on HIVD of L-SPINE with MSAT on piriformis muscle and Group B (n=20)=routine treatment on HIVD of L-SPINE (acupuncture, Shinbaro pharmacopuncture, herb medication, chuna treatment and physiotherapy). The MSAT (Mostion style acuputure treatment) on piriformis muscle was administered each day and both groups were received routine treatment each day. Evaluations were made before treatment, after 3 days and 7 days, and before discharge using the NRS (numeric rating scale) and ODI (oswestry disability index). The statistically significance was evaluated by SPSS 18.0 for windows. Results Compared to before treatment, the NRS (numeric rating scale) and ODI (oswestry disability index) of both A and B groups after 3, 7 days and before discharge of treatment significantly decreased (p<0.05). Regarding group comparison, the NRS (numeric rating scale) and ODI (oswestry disability index) of A group was significantly lower than the B group at 3, 7 days, before dischanre (p<0.05). Regarding improvement of the NRS (numeric rating scale) and ODI (oswestry disability index), A group was significantly lower than the B group at 3 day (NRS), 7day (ODI) (p=0.000) but there was no significant difference between the two groups at 7 days (NRS) and before discharge (p>0.05). Conclusions Compared to just routine treatment, the MSAT (Mostion style acuputure treatment) on piriformis muscle significantly improved the NRS (numeric rating scale) and ODI (oswestry disability index) after 3, 7 days, and before discharge. Because early intervention determines the grade of Leg radiating pain with HIVD of L-SPINE, the MSAT (Mostion style acuputure treatment) on piriformisat the early stage will be clinically helpful to patients.
The aim of this study was to investigate the kinematics of young adults during descent ramp climbing at different inclinations. Twenty-three subjects descended four steps at four different inclinations (level, $-8^{\circ}$, $-16^{\circ}$, $-24^{\circ}$). The 3-D kinematics were measured by a camera-based Falcon System. The data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and the Student-Newman-Keuls test. The kinematics of descent ramp walking could be clearly distinguished from the kinematics of level walking. On a sagittal plane, the ankle joint was more plantar flexed at initial contact with $-16^{\circ}/-24^{\circ}$ inclination, was decreased in the toe off position with all inclinations (p<.001),and was decreased at maximum plantar flexion during the swing phase (p<.001). The knee joint was more flexed at initial contact with the $-24^{\circ}$ inclination (p<.001), was more flexed in the toe off position with all inclinations (p<.001), and was more flexed at minimum flexion during stance phase and at maximum flexion during swing phase with $-16^{\circ}$, $-24^{\circ}$ inclination (p<.001). The hip joint was more flexed in the toe off position with $-16^{\circ}$, $-24^{\circ}$ inclination and was deceased at maximum extension during stance phase with $-16^{\circ}$, $-24^{\circ}$ inclination (p<.05). In the frontal plane, the ankle joint was more everted at maximum eversion during stance phase with $-16^{\circ}/-24^{\circ}$ inclination (p<.01) and was decreased at maximum inversion during swing phase with $-16^{\circ}$, $-24^{\circ}$ inclination (p<.01). The knee joint was more increased at maximum varus during stance phase with $-16^{\circ}/-24^{\circ}$ inclination (p<.001). The hip joint was deceased at maximum adduction during stance phase with $-24^{\circ}$ inclination (p<.05). In a horizontal plane, only the knee joint was increased at maximum internal rotation during stance phase with $-24^{\circ}$ inclination (p<.05). In descent ramp walking, the different gait patterns occurred at an inclination of over $16^{\circ}$ on the descending ramp in the sagittal and frontal planes. These results suggest that there is a certain inclination angle or angular range where subjects do switch between level walking and descent ramp walking gait patterns.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of fast inversion recovery (FIR) and magnetization-prepared three dimensional gradient echo sequence (3D GRE) T1-weighted sequences for neonatal brain imaging compared with spin echo (SE) sequence in a 3T MR unit. Materials and Methods: T1-weighted axial SE, FIR and 3D GRE sequences were evaluated from 3T brain MR imaging in 20 neonates. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of different tissues was measured and contrast-to-noise ratios (CNR) were determined and compared in each of the sequences. Visual analysis was carried out by grading gray-white matter differentiation, myelination, and artifacts. The Wilcoxon signed ranked test was used for evaluation of the statistical significance of CNR differences between the sequences. Results: Among the three sequences, the 3D GRE had the best SNRs. CNRs obtained with FIR and 3D GRE were statistically superior to those obtained with SE; these CNRs were better on the 3D GRE compared to the FIR. Gray to white matter differentiation and myelination were better delineated on the FIR and 3D GRE than the SE. However, motion artifacts were more commonly observed on the 3D GRE and flow-related artifacts of vessels were frequently seen on the FIR. Conclusion: FIR and 3D GRE are valuable alternative T1-weighted sequences to conventional SE imaging of the neonatal brain at 3T providing superior image quality.
In this study, MBL experiments in the Korean secondary science textbooks and chemistry textbooks under the 2007 and the 2009 curriculum revision were analyzed in terms of curriculum revision era, grade, context of experiment in the textbook, field of science, topic, sensor, and publisher. As a result, 25 MBL experiments were found in the science textbooks under the 2007 revision, and 29 experiments under the 2009 revision (19 for middle school textbook and 10 for high school textbook). MBL experiments in middle school textbooks were not increased after curriculum revision while those in high school textbooks appeared for the first time. Most of them were in the textbooks for grade 7 and presented as an essential experiment rather than optional one. Motion sensor and temperature sensor were used most frequently, and oxygen sensor and carbon dioxide sensor were followed. In aspect of publishers, a frequency of MBL experiment was decreased in most textbook and some publishers didn't include MBL experiment at all. Based on these results, educational implications were discussed.

The purpose of this study was to compare the outcomes between arthroscopir repair and mini-open repair of medium and large rotator cuff tears in which arthroscopic repair was technically unsuccessful. We evaluated 76 patients of full-thickness rotator cuff tears, among them 42 patients had all-arthroscopic and 34 patients had mini-open salvage repairs. Patients who had acromioclavicular arthritis, subscapularis tear, or instability were excluded. There were 39 males and 37 females with mean age of 56 years (range,42 to 75 years). At a mean follow-up of 39 months (range, 24 to 64 months), the results of both groups were compared with regard to the UCLA and ASES shoulder rating scale s. Shoulder scores improved in all ratings in both groups (p > 0.05). Overall, sixty-six patients showed excellent or gr)of and ten patients showed fair or poor scores by the UCLA scale. Seventy-two patients satisfactorily returned to prior activity. Four showed unsatisfactory return. The range of motion, strength, and patient's satisfaction were improved postoperatively. There were no difference in shoulder scores, pain, and activity return between the arthroscopic and mini-open salvage groups (p > 0.05). However, Patients with larger size tear showed lower shoulder scores and less predictive recovery of the strength and function (p < 0.05). Postoperative pain was not different with respect to the size of the tear (p : 0.251). Arthroscopic repair of medium and large full-thickness rotator cuff tears had iln equal outcome to technically unsuccessful arthroscopic repairs, which were salvaged by conversion to a mini- open repair technique. Surgical outcome depended on the size of the tear, rather than the method of repair.
We measured the glenohumeral and scapulothoracic movements during abduction of the arm in the coronal plane with radiologic analysis in the 30 shoulders of normal male adults who were without pain, limitation of motion, and history of trauma. In the resting position, the glenoid cavity of the scapula faced somewhat superiorly in over 80 percents of the individuals, the mean superior tilting was 5.7 degrees. The mean total scapulothoracic movement was 65.8 degrees and the mean total glenohumeral movement was 106.8 degrees during abduction of arm in the coronal plane. The mean ratio of the glenohumeral movement to the scapulothoracic movement was 1.6 and this GH/ST ratio was decreased toward the extreme abduction. When the arm was abducted, external rotation of the humeral head occurred and this external rotation was increased smoothly during 0 degree through 90 degrees, but steeply above 90 degrees. The acromiohumeral interval was 10.9 mm at the resting positon, and this interval decreased during the arm abduction. The superior migration of the humeral head was 3.1 mm while abducting the arm. Our measurement of the relationships of glenohumeral and scapulothoracic movements at the coronal plane would be useful in the understandings of the biomechanics of shoulder, but further study would be required for the analysis of the three dimensional relationship because of the limitation of our two dimensional analysis.

This study describes an analysis on the sinking characteristics in purse seine. The experiment was carried out using three simplified model seines in a flume tank under still water condition. The densities($\rho$) of netting materials were 0.91g/$cm^3$ for PP seine, 1.14g/$cm^3$ for PA seine and 1.38g/$cm^3$ for PES seine. Differential equations were derived from the conservation of momenta of the model seines and used to determine the sinking speeds of the depths of leadline and the other portions of seines. An analysis carried out by simultaneous differential equations for numerical method by subroutine Runge-Kutta-Gill. The results obtained were as follows: 1) Sinking speed of net margin was fastest for PP seine, followed by PA and PES seines. 2) The coefficient of resistance for netting of seine was estimated to be $K_D=0.061({\frac{\rho}{{\rho}_w}})^4$. 3) The coefficient of resistance for netting bundle of seine was estimated to be $C_R=0.91({\frac{\rho}{{\rho}_w}}$. 4) In all seines, the calculated depths of leadline closely agreed with the measured ones(meas.=0.99cal.).
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of eight cases of coronoid process fractures that were fixed with a plate. Materials and Methods: Eight coronoid process fractures were treated by plating and these cases were reviewed retrospectively. Six patients were men and two were women. The average age was 41 years (range: 22-79) at the time of injury. According to Regan's classification, there were five type 2 and three type 3. According to O'Driscoll's classification, there were five anteromedial type and three base type. Open reduction and internal fixation with a plate were performed through a medial approach by splitting of the two heads of the flexor carpi ulnaris. The patients were follow-up for a mean of 15.8 months (range: 6-25). We evaluated the clinical outcomes with using the Mayo Elbow Performance Score. Results: The average active motion of the elbow joint was $120^{\circ}$. The average Mayo Elbow Performance Score was 86.9. There were 5 excellent results, 1 good result and 2 fair results. Summary: Plating through a medial approach of the elbow provided stable fixation and satisfactory union for treating displaced coronoid process fractures with the unstable elbow.
The purpose of this study was to analyze kinematic variables of a Mae-ukemi (forward breakfall :MU) in Judo through 3-D image analysis with five Judoka with over 2 years' career (2nd dan, 3rd dan). The kinematic variables include posture, and distance variables; the mean values and the standard deviations for each variable were obtained to analyze kinematic variables of a MU in Judo. From the data analysis and discussion, the following conclusions were drawn : 1) Posture variables : The angles of wrists during right before Mae-ukemi (RBU) were extended from the just MU position(MUP) and flexed from in the right after MU(RAU), and there was a difference in the displacement between the angles of the right and left wrists. The angles of elbows were flexed in the ready position from in the RAU. The angles of ankles were flexed from the ready position to that down position, extended from the down position to that transition, and flexed from the transition positiont to that RAU. 2) Distance variables : The distance height between the mat and shoulders in the RBU(32.2cm) to in the MUP(18.3cm) and in the RAU(20.5cm). during that height between the mat and hips in the RBU(48.0cm) to in the MUP(23.4cm), and in the RAU(30.6cm).
