  • The main features of HILO-3 logic simulator are introduced. It is regarded as one of the most powerful logic simulator available now in electronic industry. The major functions and concepts are reviewed with some examples; circuit description using HDL (Hardware Description Language), waveform description using WDL (Waveform Description Language) and fault-free simulation for static RAM circuit. This program is expected to help the system designers, integrated circuit designers and test engineers.

  • Recently, DNA fingerprinting has been utilized as the most powerful tool for genetic analysis and improvement of poultry. This technique enables us to solve several problems of poultry breeding ; traits of low heritability, difficulty in keeping the performance records, measuring in late of life, and sex limited traits. Application of DNA fingerprinting is chiefly focused to individual and population identification, evolution force, quantitative trait marker, introgression of new gene, and prediction of heterosis. Thus, research work on DNA fingerprinting will he accelerated to analyze genetic components exactly and improve the performance of poultry.

  • The stationarity is one of the most important properties of a time series. We propose robust sign tests for seasonal autoregressive process to determine whether or not a time series is stationary. The tests have an exact binomial null distribution and are robust to the outliers and the heteroscedastic errors. Monte-Carlo simulation shows that the sign test is locally more powerful than the OLSE-based tests for heavy-tailed and/or heteroscedastic error distributions.

  • In this study, PC-based FEA system (Micro-STANS) running on the 16 bit microcomputer is developed. This system has powerful pre & post processing function using computer graphics, and is interfaced to AutoCAD system which is most popular PC-CAD system, making it possible to accomplish the concept of real integration between design and analysis. This system which has truss , beam plate & shell elements in the element library, can perform linear static analysis.

  • This paper presents a CAN-based control system, which supports tole-operations over the Internet. As a result, CAN-based control systems are opened up for remote control, monitoring and maintenance using WWW-technology. Most of the system is written in JAVA because it is small, powerful package and can easily be reused in the whole system on different platforms and implemented in embedded system. The effectiveness of proposed method is demonstrated through the experiments using a CAN-based manipulator, which allow remote access for Web-based Java clients.

Functional evaluation is the most important progress in VE activities. But it is often difficult to evaluate the function of a certain subject because the evaluation of function is very vague.   • Photovoltaic technology has been intensively developed as one of the most powerful renewable energies, replacing a fossil fuel such as coal and petroleum. Every country in the world has emphasized on development of photovoltaic technology and our government has invested heavily in low cost and high efficiency. Korea institute of industrial technology (KITECH) has lastingly constructed PV R&D infra for development of cost-effective and high efficiency solar cells as well as support of commercialization in PV's small and medium enterprises.   • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of two variable groups(socio-demographic factors and psychological factors) on money management strategies and financial satisfaction. The major findings of this study are as follows : Household income, level of education of wives, and locus of control had significant effect on the level of financial satisfaction. After the effect of socio - demographic variables and psychological variables was controlled, Especially evaluating strategy was found to be the most powerful variable in explaining financial satisfaction.

  • This study delineates the preferences of elderly housing characteristics among a middle-aged population. The data were collected from an independent, random, age-stratified sample of house wives using structured questionaire and interview methods. The data were analyzed using a SAS statistics analysis program. The preferred way of living style and housing characteristics were investigated. Preferred housing characteristics were influenced by age, income, job and education. Education was the most powerful indicator for predicting the preferences.
