  • An algorithm has been proposed for the automatic detection of optimal epiand endocardial left ventricular borders from 2-D short axis echocardiogram which is degraded by noise and echo drop out. For the implementation of the algorithm, we modified Ballard's Generalized Hough Transform which can be applicable only for deterministic object border, and newly proposed Fuzzy Hough Transform method. The algorithm presented here allows detection of object whose exact shapes are unknown. The algorithm only requires an approximate model of target object based on anatomical data. To detect the approximate epicardial contour of left ventricle, Fuzzy Hough Transform was applied to the echocardiogram. The optimal epicardial contour was founded by using graph searching method which contains cost function analysis process. Using this optimal epicardial contour and average thickness imformation of left ventricular wall, the approximate endocardial line was founded, and graph searching method was also used to detect optimal endocardial contour.

  • 본 연구에서는 용접선 추출의 방법으로 현재 많이 사용되고 있는 용접선을 따라 연속적으로 이미지를 얻어 처리하는 사전관찰(preview)기법을 개선하여 용접모재를 한번에 촬영(snapshot)하여 화상처리를 거친 후 용접정보가 들어 있는 CAD database와 비교, 매칭시켜 필요한 용접정보를 획득하는 새로운 방법을 제시한다. 또한 정확한 꼭지점을 추출하기 위해서는 정확한 직선식이 필요한데 이의 계산에는 허프변환(Hough Transform)이 이용되고 있지만 계산시간이 많이 소요되며 부정확하다. 계산시간의 감소 및 정확도의 향상을 위해 기존의 허프변환(Hough Transform)을 개선한 수정된 허프변환(Modified HoughTranform)을 개발하였다.

  • In this research, a mesh connected VLSI structure is proposed for the real time computation of the generalized Hough transform(GHT). The purpose of the research is to design a generalized Hough transformer that can be realized as a single chip processor. The GHT has been modified to yield a highly parallel structure consisting of simple processing elements(PEs) and communication networks. In the proposed structure, the GHT can be computed by first assigning an image pixel to a PE and performing shift and add operations. The result of the CAD circuit simulation shows that it can be computed in the time proportional to the number of pixels in the pattern. In addition to the Hough transformer, the peak detector has been designed to reduce 1)the number of the I/O operations between the transformer and the host computer and 2) the host computer's burden for peak detection by transmitting only the local peaks detected from the transformed accumulator. It is expected that the proposed single chip Hough transformer with peak detector makes a fast and inexpensive edge based object recognition systems possible for many industrial and military applications.

  • 본 논문은 2-D 물체 정합을 위한 robust oriented Hausdorff measure (ROHM)을 제안하였다. 이 ROHM은 기존의 Hausdorff distance (HD) 알고리듬의 거리 개념을 Hough 변환의 누적기법으로 대치함으로써 제안되었다. 제안한 알고리듬은 distance transform (DT)을 사용하는 변형된 Hough transform으로 생각할 수 있다. 또한 각 화소의 방향각을 사용하여 부적절한 대응관계를 제거하였다. 여러가지 실험영상을 이용한 실험을 통하여 제안한 알고리듬이 기존의 알고리듬들에 비하여 효율적임을 보였다.

  • The important factors that cause position error in X-Y robot are inertial force, frictions and spring distortion in screw or coupling. We have to estimate these factors precisely to correct position errors, Which is very difficult. In this paper, we makes systems to inspect metal stencil which is used to print solder paste on pads of SMD of PCB with low precision X-Y robot and vision system. To correct position error that is caused by low precision X-Y robot, we defines position error vector that is formed with position of objects that exist in reference and camera image. We apply MHT(Modified Hough Transformation) for the aim of determining the dominant position error vector. We modify reference image using extracted dominant position error vector and obtain reference image that is the same with camera image. Effectiveness and performance of this method are verified by simulation and experiment.

경계선 강도 허프 변환에서 직선 왜곡의 최소화 방안 (Resolving Line Distortions in Edge Strength Hough Transform)

  • 허프 변환(Hough transform)은 영상에서 몇 개의 파라미터로 표현되는 기하학적 요소 추출을 위해 널리 사용되고 있는 방법 중 하나이다. 하지만 허프 변환은 영상의 한 픽셀이 허프 공간(Hough space)의 한 방정식에 대응되는 일대다 특성으로 인해 잡음에 민감한 특성을 갖는다. 이러한 잡음 민감성은 검출되는 직선의 개수뿐만이 아니라 검출된 직선의 품질에도 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 즉, 실제 직선에서 벗어난 직선이 검출되거나 하나의 실제 직선에 대해 여러 개의 직선이 검출되는 등의 직선 왜곡이 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 직선 왜곡은 잡음 이외에도 허프 공간의 설정, 특히 각 해상도의 설정에 영향을 받는다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 허프 변환에서 발생하는 이러한 직선 왜곡을 분석하고, 잡음 민감성을 줄이기 위해 제안된 경계선 강도 허프 변환(Edge Strength Hough Transform, ESHT)에서 이러한 왜곡이 적게 발생함을 보인다. 하지만 허프 공간의 크기는 허프 변환 이전에 정해지므로, 정해진 허프 공간에 대해 왜곡의 발생이 최소가 되도록 하는 방법을 제시한다. 또한 경계선 강도 허프 변환의 경계선 확장과 강도 설정 과정을 통해 경계선 강도 허프 변환에서만 발생할 수 있는 직선 왜곡을 분석하고 이를 해결하는 방법을 제시한다. 실험 결과에서는 제시한 방법이 직선의 왜곡이 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.

한글 특징점 추출을 위한 일반화된 표본화 알고리즘을 이용한 수정된 Hough Transform에 관한 연구 (A study on the modified hough transform for hangul feature extraction using generalized sampling rule)

  • Hangul is expressed by the basic elements, twenty-four characters. Because these characters are composed of a circle and lines, Hough transform(HT), which has a powerful performance on the noise in extracting lines, is introduced. Many difficulties often occur when the original HT is used to extract strokes and it's direction, position and length from handwritten Hangul characters. Original HT has eight direction selected as samples in the transformed image should be calculated for these eight directions. In this paper, the generalized sampling rule is suggested. According to the rule, those directions which are possible to a line are the only thing to be calculated. The experoment result turned out to be higher than the method that Chen suggested in sampling rate. Anogher experiment result is done on the 1800 handwritten Hangul characters that 10 persons wrote. By feature extracting the oritinal HT and sampling HT. And as a result of six type classification, the suggested method came out higher than original HT.

수정 하후변환을 이용한 전선의 중심위치의 인식 (Recognition of the Center Position of Electric Line Using Modified Hough Transform)

  • Uninterrupted power supply has become indispensable during the maintenance task of active electric power lines as a result of today's highly information-oriented society and increasing demand of electric utilities. The maintenance task has the risk of electric shock and the danger of falling from high place. Therefore it is necessary to realize an autonomous robot system. In order to realize these tasks autonomously, the there dimensional position of target object such as electric line and the stand of insulator must be recognized accurately and rapidly. The insertion task of an electric line into a sleeve is selected as the typical task of the maintenance of active electric power distribution lines in this paper. A modified hough transform is applied to the recognition of the center of electric line and optimal target position calculation method is newly derived in order to recognize the center 3 dimensional position of the electric line. By the proposed method, it is proved that the center position of the electric line can be recognized without respect to the noise of image and the shape of electric lines and the insertion task of an electric tine is realized.

컴퓨터 비젼을 이용한 파이프 불량 검사시스템 개발 (Development of Pipe Fault Inspection System using Computer Vision)

  • A computer-vision based pipe-inspection algorithm is developed. The algorithm uses the modified Hough transformation and a line-scanning approach to identify the edge line and the radius of the pipe image, from which the eccentricity and dimension of the pipe-end is calculated. Line and circle detection was performed using Laplace operator with input image, which are acquired from the front and side cameras. In order to minimize the memory usage and the processing time, a clustering method with the modified Hough transformation is introduced for line detection. The dimension of inner and outer radius of pipe is calculated by the proposed line-scanning method. The method scans several lines along the X and Y axes, calculating the eccentricity of inner and outer circle, by which pipes with wrong end-shape can be classified and removed.
