  • In the study of Stress-Control by Qigong Program, the results were as follows : In modern society, many stress factors affect the human organism, altering and chipping away at our nervous, endocrine, locomotor, reproductive, digestive, respiratory, circulatory and immune systems. The beneficial effects of Qigong can help us to restore our equilibrium and enhance our quality of life. This study was performed to investigate the effect of Qigong on stress and psychological symptoms. Twenty-two subjects were trained Qigong Program a week for 8 weeks. The stress index of subjects and psychosomatic symptoms was compared before and after Qigong Program and was significantly decreased after Qigong training. It means that the stress index and psychosomatic symptoms were improved by Qigong training.

  • It is well known that prepartum sows have an innate motivation to build a nest before parturition. Under commercial conditions, however, the farrowing crate, which is widely used in modern pig husbandry, inhibits this innate behaviour through the lack of space, materials, or both. Thus, restriction of nest-building behaviour could generate increased stress, resulting in a decrease in maternal endogenous hormones. Hence, it could lead to detrimental effects on farrowing and lactating performance. Here we review interactions between prepartum nest-building behaviour, stress and maternal endogenous hormone levels, and discuss their effects on parturition, lactation, and welfare of sows and offspring.

  • To investigate the neurobiological bases of learning and memory is one of the ambitious goals of modern neuroscience. The progress in this field of recent years has not only brought us closer to understanding the molecular mechanism underlying long-lasting changes in synaptic strength, but it has also provided further evidence that these mechanisms are required for memory formation. Since twenty years ago, several studies for the tests of the hypothesis that NMDA-dependent hippocampal long-term potentiation(LTP) underlies learning have been reported. Also, in the recent year, data from mutant mice showed that a potential role for NMDA-dependent LTP in hippocampal CA1 and spatial learning. Although the current evidence for the role of NMDA receptor in learning and memory is not still obvious, NMDA receptor seems to act as a critical switch for activation of a cascade of events that underlie synaptic plasticity.

  • Headache is symptom of many people suffered. It caused simply by fatigue, stress, but it also caused by inflammation, mechanical or chemical stimulus, circulation disorder, brain damage. Modern societies develop rapidly by traffic system. But lately it suffering with many traffic problem. Traffic accident is most important of many traffic problem. We experienced a 35 year-old female who complained headache, caused by a traffic accident that happened 22 month ago. We treated the patient by the way of Eo-hyeol (瘀血) type of headache with Herbal medication and Acupuncture. After being treated, the patient show that symptoms(headache, insomnia, anorexia) was improved considerably. This result suggests that oriental medicine treatment has good effect on headache due to traffic accident.

  • Utilization of herbal medicine has been an intrinsic part of Philippine culture for many centuries. In spite of tremendous development in the field of modern medicine, traditional and alternative medicine will continue to flourish and take an important role in meeting the basic health needs of the people. The National Integrated Research Program on Medicinal Plant (NIRPROMP), the lead government institution for herbal medicinal research had already validated ten medicinal plants and is currently studying new batch of medicinal plants. Five of the ten clinically-tested medicinal plants have been elevated to herbal medicinal drugs that are now being commercially manufactured in the different parts of the country. Research on medicinal plants takes longer time as the nature of medical research dictates it to be. It must adhere to the internationally accepted standards of medicinal research in the Philippines was observed making alternative medicine an effective health delivery system to the people.

  • Stephania hernandifolia belonging to the family Menispermaceae is the biggest storehouse of diphenylbisbenzylisoquinoline (DBBI) alkaloids. Exhaustive chemical processing of the bulb of S. hernandifolia by the application of modern separation techniques yielded a DBBI alkaloid which was identified as cycleanine using spectroscopic methods (UV, IR, $^1HNMR$. $^{13}CNMR$, Mass). Cycleanine showed significant anti-inflammatory activity against carrageenin induced paw oedema, comparable to that produced by diclofenac sodium, used as standard drug. It exhibited potent analgesic effects against chemical and thermal noxious stimuli. It was also found to possess anticonvulsive activity in the strychnine induced convulsion model.

  • Jangwi(腸胃) was recorded to Young Chu(靈樞)'s volume 33. Also, This Was recorded in Tae So(太素)‘s volume 10 Sindo Jangdo(身度 腸道), Gap Eul(甲乙)’s volume 2 Goldojangdojangwisosujechil(骨度腸道腸胃所受第七) and You Gyung(類經)‘s volume 4 Jangsnagyou jangwidaesojisu(臟象類 腸胃大小之數). Reason which call that it is Jangwi(腸胃) is that is describing length, width, diameter, weight, capacity, bends state of digestive organ from mouth to rectum. This chapter can not be understood in view of yin and yang five elements with Makedo(맥도), Goldo(骨度). This chapter can approach from specially viewpoint that is anatomy. Name of This chapter's terminology and position and types are very realistic. I feel pity that study does not exist about this. Therefore, I compared with comments of several doctors and modern anatomy. I believe that will be beaconed to understand This chapter.

  • To inform choices about the future of people who study public health and preventive medicine, the current status of public health is examined in terms of the public health sector in government. After tracing the major achievements of public health in the modern era, this paper explores the potential of public health and its core functions, which is realized by public health professionals working in the government sector. Finally, this article highlights the international dimension of public health, which is becoming increasingly important and therefore attracting many people who would like to take part.

  • Traditional epidemiological assessments, which mainly focused on evaluating the statistical association between two major components-the exposure and outcome-have recently evolved to ascertain the in-between process, which can explain the underlying causal pathway. Mediation analysis has emerged as a compelling method to disentangle the complex nature of these pathways. The statistical method of mediation analysis has evolved from simple regression analysis to causal mediation analysis, and each amendment refined the underlying mathematical theory and required assumptions. This short guide will introduce the basic statistical framework and assumptions of both traditional and modern mediation analyses, providing examples conducted with real-world data.

  • Infertility is a complex disease characterized by extreme genetic heterogeneity, compounded by various environmental factors. While there are exceptions, individual genetic and genomic variations related to infertility are typically rare, often family-specific, and may serve as susceptibility factors rather than direct causes of the disease. Consequently, identifying the cause of infertility and developing prevention and treatment strategies based on these factors remain challenging tasks, even in the modern genomic era. In this review, we first examine the genetic and genomic variations associated with infertility, and subsequently summarize the concepts and methods of preimplantation genetic testing in light of advances in genome analysis technology.
