This work covers an important point of the benchmark released by the expert group on Uncertainty Analysis in Modeling of Light Water Reactors. This ambitious benchmark aims to determine the uncertainty in light water reactors systems and processes in all stages of calculation, with emphasis on multi-physics (coupled) and multi-scale simulations. The Gesellschaft für Anlagen und Reaktorsicherheit methodology is used to propagate the thermal-hydraulic uncertainty of macroscopic parameters through TRACE5.0p3/PARCSv3.0 coupled code. The main innovative points achieved in this work are i) a new thermal-hydraulic model is developed with a highly-accurate 3D core discretization plus an iterative process is presented to adjust the 3D bypass flow, ii) a control rod insertion occurrence -which data is obtained from a real PWR test- is used as a transient simulation, iii) two approaches are used for the propagation process: maximum response where the uncertainty and sensitivity analysis is performed for the maximum absolute response and index dependent where the uncertainty and sensitivity analysis is performed at each time step, and iv) RESTING MATLAB code is developed to automate the model generation process and, then, propagate the thermal-hydraulic uncertainty. The input uncertainty information is found in related literature or, if not found, defined based on expert judgment. This paper, first, presents the Gesellschaft für Anlagen und Reaktorsicherheit methodology to propagate the uncertainty in thermal-hydraulic macroscopic parameters and, then, shows the results when the methodology is applied to a PWR reactor.
In this paper, a research for the dynamic wheel loads of a 3D vehicle model, which relates to a tire-enveloping model, is carried out. A single truck with four axles is modeled as a 10-D.O.F. vehicle by modeling both contact length of tires and pitching of tandem spring axles. The dynamic equations of the vehicle are obtained using the Lagrange's equation, the solution of the equations is calculated by Newmark-${\beta}$ method. The validity of the developed 3D vehicle model is demonstrated by comparing results obtained from the proposed method with those from experimental data. The maximum impact factors of tire force are evaluated according to the various step bumps on which a 24-ton dump truck is running.
The behavior of a one-step fixed bed reactor which directly synthesizes dimethyl ether(DME) from Natural Gas was simulated. In the reactor, the prevention of the occurrence of hot spots which can cause deactivation of catalysts is pivotal, since methanol synthesis and dehydration reaction involved in the synthesis of DME are highly exothermic. Therefore, we simulated and compared performance of the reactor with counter-current cooling and pool boiling system that can be applied to a commercial plant. As a result, we found that counter-current cooling system is more effective in terms of CO conversion and DME productivity. However, pool boiling system can operate in a small temperature gradient that can decrease problems caused by hot spot. And, the system can operate in a safer range.
We present a cloth simulation technique that is very stable yet also responsive. The stability of the technique allows the use of a large fixed time step when simulating various types of fabrics and character motions. The animations generated using this technique are strikingly realistic. Wrinkles form and disappear in a quite natural way, which is the feature that most distinguishes textile fabrics from other sheet materials. Significant improvements in both the stability and realism were made possible by overcoming the post-buckling instability as well as the numerical instability. The instability caused by buckling arises from a structural instability and therefore cannot be avoided by simply employing an implicit method. Addition of a damping force may help to avoid instabilities; however, it can significantly degrade the realism of the cloth motion. In this paper, a new buckling model based on immediate buckling assumption is proposed. A cloth element is assumed to reach a stable configuration immediately once it begins to buckle. This assumption makes it possible to simulate the fabric buckling stably without introducing any fictitious damping force. Consequently, it produces highly responsive cloth motion as well as improves the stability by modeling the fabric-specific buckling property adequately.

Generally, echo cancelers of a TV conference system or a audio conference system are to carry out a real time processing in the case of the closed room having long reverberation time because the system requires much time to modify filter coefficients to environmental changes. Therefore this paper proposes a new subband adaptive filtering method using polyphase filter banks of MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) audio system to solve the problems. This method divides signal spectra of input and output into several frequency bands, and each band is adaptively filtered by using ES-NLMS (Exponential Step-Normalized Least Mean Square) algorithm. The optimal number of subband is determined by computational simulations. According to the results of simulation, ERLE of the subband model is 2dB smaller than general full band, calculation rate's of the subband model is decreased about 88%.
Recently, as the social interest about environmental problems is increased and the importance is highlighted, the related information and the demand of information are increased. and, the Total Pollution System will be executed soon. Therefore, the information management system which can manage and analysis related information efficiently and systematically become required. Especially, the development and application of GIS which can effectively manage and analyze information using spatial data have been processing by government, private institute, and related academic institute of all over the world. also their potentiality of application have been recognizing. The main purpose of this study is to develop the stream water quality management system which can simulate future water quality using water quality model(QUAL2E) and be integrated the whole step from calculating pollutant load divided by administrative district and watershed to displaying the result of modeling visually.

Photovoltaic and fuel cell systems can be used as power source in mobile robots. At this time the photovoltaic system generally generate power in daytime. The starting time of fuel cell is slower than the lithium battery. To compensate for these disadvantages, a battery charge-discharge system is used. Especially the bi-directional converter is used mainly in the charge-discharge method. The controller in a buck converter controls the input voltage of the converter to meet the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) performance. First of all, the simulations of hybrid system for battery charge-discharge system in each step simulated using solar and fuel cell modeling as input source in PSIM. Experiment of the buck and bi-directional converter system is conducted through using photovoltaic/fuel cel simulator(pCube) instead of solar and fuel cell. This hybrid system for battery charge discharge using photovoltaic/fuel cell generates emergency power for the communication system in mobile robot.
The KTX station is one of special generators that produce a lot of trips caused by special land use such as university, airport, and super shopping mall. Special generators need special attention in developing travel demand models since the standard trip generation and distribution model in the conventional four-step approach do not provide reliable estimates of their travel patterns. New modeling approach, activity-based model, considering travel behavior of person, seem to be more appropriate for those special generators. Thus, this study introduces a spatial-temporal activity-based approach and how activity-based approach can be applied to estimation of travel demand at KTX stations.

In this study, the flame temperature distribution of the diffusion flame burner for SiO2 deposition was analyzed by the computational fluid analysis. This corresponds to the previous step for simulating the SiO2 preform deposition process for manufacturing optical fibers using environmentally friendly raw materials. In order to model premixed combustion, heat flow, convection, and chemical reactions were considered, and Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and k-ω models were used. As a result, the temperature distribution of the flame showed a tendency to increase the distance from the nozzle surface to the maximum temperature when the flow rate of the auxiliary oxygen increased. In addition, it was confirmed that the temperature distribution due to incomplete combustion was large in the combustion reaction with a large equivalence ratio of the mixed gas.

Purpose: This study was done to examine whether risk of suicidal ideation in nursing students as related to social support and ego-resilience, and whether subjective wellbeing mediated the relationships. Methods: Structural equation modeling was applied to test the model in which ego-resilience and social support from family, friends, and others were considered as exogenous variables and subjective wellbeing as a mediating variable. The participants were 285 nursing students who completed self-report measures including the Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, the Ego-Resiliency Scale, and the Index of Wellbeing. Results: Results show that higher scores on family support and ego-resilience were positively associated with subjective wellbeing and negatively with suicidal ideation. Subjective wellbeing mediated the relationships between family support and suicidal ideation, and also ego-resilience and suicidal ideation. Among the three social supports, only family social support had both direct and indirect effects on suicidal ideation. Conclusion: Findings suggest that family support is a useful resource in the prevention of suicidal ideation in nursing students and building supportive relationship with family should be considered as the first step in suicide prevention strategies. Also enhancing ego-resilience could play an important role to reduce suicide risk through promoting well-being.
