Most technology-based entrepreneurship(TBE) go through an process of decline or disappear without overcoming the valley of death(VoD). The purpose of this study is to identify the growth dimension of TBE and to test the influence of firms activities on firms growth over time. This study identified the two-dimensional growth dimension divided by size and profit through exploratory factor analysis(EFA) of a number of growth indicators. Then, we defined the discrete state of growth firm in four states, divided by size and profit, and five states, including the closure of business. Multi-nomial logit model is used to predict the effect of TBE activities on a discrete state of growth firm(size×profit, closure of business) based on multiple independent variables. The independent variables are based on five representative firms activities: employment, marketing, R&D, financial activities, and general management activities. The growth stage of TBE over time has been categorized into three stages: early stage, middle stage, and late stage of business, taking into account the main periods during which the survival rate of startups sharply decreases. The analytical data of this study was based on the secondary data of the start-up supporting companies of government and public institutions. The subjects of analysis were TBE within 10 years. As a result of the empirical analysis, the employment and marketing activities of TBE show that early and mid-term activities had an effect on the state of firms growth. However, if there is a difference, employment activities have both positive and negative effects, while marketing activities have only a positive effect on size and profit growth. And besides, R&D activities, financial activities, and general management activities throughout the entire process of firms growth were found to be firms activities that have both positive and negative effects on firms growth. In addition, the age of the founder, the firms' industry, and the geographic location of the firms, which are general characteristics of the company, were found to have a distinctive effect on the growth status of the firms according to the growth stage.
Purpose: Currently, in the case of domestic fire fighting facility design, it is difficult to secure highquality manpower due to low design costs and overheated competition between companies, so there is a limit to improving the fire safety performance of buildings. Accordingly, AI-based firefighting design solutions were studied to solve these problems and secure leading fire engineering technologies. Method: Through AutoCAD, which is widely used in existing fire fighting design, the procedures required for basic design and implementation design were processed, and AI technology was utilized through the YOLO v4 object recognition deep learning model. Result: Through the design process for fire fighting facilities, the facility was determined and the drawing design automation was carried out. In addition, by learning images of doors and pillars, artificial intelligence recognized the part and implemented the function of selecting boundary areas and installing piping and fire fighting facilities. Conclusion: Based on artificial intelligence technology, it was confirmed that human and material resources could be reduced when creating basic and implementation design drawings for building fire protection facilities, and technology was secured in artificial intelligence-based fire fighting design through prior technology development.
In this paper, we propose and discuss about image enhancement techniques for MPEG-4. which represents very low bit-rate, content-based. and object-based hierarchical audio-visual coding standard. The proposed enhancement technique removes undesired artifacts arising in the compression procedure and increase resolution in both spatial and temporal domains. In order to remove undesired artifacts. we divide the MPEG-4 video algorithm in two parts: MPEG-2 like part and the new part. For removing artifacts caused by the first part. we adopt the conventional blocking artifacts algorithm developed for MPEG-2. On the other hand for removing artifacts caused by the second part. we provide a new degradation model. and propose the corresponding image restoration method. For increasing resolution of the MPEG-4 images, we propose a general framework of multichannel image interpolation process. which includes both spatial and temporal interpolations. As the MPEG-4 standard is under development. various sophisticated techniques are considered. but research on image enhancement techniques is relatively underestimated. By this reason. additional image enhancement techniques will become very important issue in realization phase of MPEG-4.
The purposes of this study were to investigate the effects of the elements of textile design on consumer emotion and to develop the emotion model which is suitable for the textile design. The descriptive system of textile design was developed based on the previous studies. Emotion measurement scale was developed to analyze the consumer emotion for the textile design. 20 representative types of textile design were collected as stimuli set for this study, consumer emotion on each design type was examined and was analyzed through the survey. For the data analysis, principal component analysis was employed. As a result, 8 emotional factors such as 'Modern', 'Fun', 'Natural', 'Elegance', 'Classic', 'Ethnic', 'Wild' and 'Sporty' were derived from the results of the survey. Emotion measurement scale which consisted of 8 factors was developed to analyze the effects of the elements of textile design on consumer emotion and 80 representative types of textile design were collected. In addition, the emotion which consumers feel for the textile design types was investigated and each textile design was described according to the descriptive system of textile design. Statistical methods of pearson correlation and multiple regression were employed to analyze the relationship between the elements of textile design and consumer emotion. The results of this study revealed that 15 design elements which affected consumer emotion were the size of motives, the shape of motives, the degree of tone contrast among motives etc. This study findings can provide specific design methods for the effectiveness of consumer emotion.

In this paper, we have developed electronic textbooks for social studies centering on contents of a public educational process so that primary schools can use them as a text book. Also, we conducted a survey to find out how teachers perceived electronic textbooks in respect to site accessibility and utility, instructional design, progress of lesson, validity and accuracy of learning content, interface design, and web-based multimedia. In this paper, we presented a new model for electronic textbooks development, which is expected to be useful in developing electronic textbooks as a main text book, unlike other existing models. We applied the navigation utilizing book metaphors to the user interface, on the basis of the results from the analysis of the existing electronic textbooks. In addition, we provided affluent multi-media materials as well as hyperlink, a strong point of on-lines. Experimental results show that the academic achievement was high in knowledge-understanding areas and functional areas in the perspective of academic achievements of the learners.
Interest on ocean environment has increased with the development of industrialized activities. Public marine resorces are defined broadly to include fish stocks, beaches, marine waters, recreational fishing, biota, waterfowls, shorebirds, seabirds and marine mammals But, it is not easy to analyze compensation for injury to publicly owned marine resources because the claimants do not exist clearly and the economic methodology of damage on public goods is not developed fully. This paper introduces basic idea of welfare economic theory and environmental legislation to the research question : How the economics and law can be applied to the case of damage on publicly owned marine resource. The paper discusses the concepts of willingness to pay (WTP) and willingness to accept (WTA). It is accepted generally that WTA is correct concept of welfare change in the case of damaged public goods. Four methods (compensating variation, equivalent variation, compensating surplus, equivalent surplus of measuring welfare changes are compared. Compensating variation(CV) is the best measure of welfare changes are compared. Compensating variation(CV) is the best measure of welfare changes caused by environmental damage. Vartia (1983) showed CV could be measured from the ordinary demand function using the differential equations. This paper also provides an overview of the emerging U.S. and Korea legal system for compensation for natural resource damages, with particular emphasis on U.S. legal system under Comprehensive Environmen-tal Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA). These regulations are to include two different types of standardized procedures for assessing natural resources injury : Type A or simplified assessment techniques for small releases ; and Type B protocols that would include detailed and extensive assessment methodologies for major releases. Type A procedures are specified by Natural Resources Damage Assessment Model for Coastal and Marine Environment (NRDAM/CME) of the U.S. CERCLA provides a legal 'legitimization for the use of economic-based nonmarket valuation in the courts and have introduced appropriate and accurate nonmarket valuation methods based on willingness to-pay for damage assessment. By briefly reviewing economic theory and environmental legislation, we hope to help provide a better understanding of the compensation process and the economics of publicly owned marine resources in the U.S. and to integrate the economics and law of natural resources valuation into a single comprehensive package in Korea.
As the multimedia technology has become in popular, many software packages that are for using those multimedia contents have also been developed. Directshow is a media framework which makes the development of such multimedia software simple, quick and regular process. In the Directshow, data are processed through the connections between filters. In general, Filtergraph is utilized to be set as 'Intelligent Connection' for filter connection. However, when we use this 'Intelligent Connection' option, they can show non-expected results or fail to connect with filter's pins together. So in this paper, we propose non-necessary filter cut-off method for connecting only just wanted filters. There are two methods such as inner filter cut-off method and outer filter one. The inner filter cut-off method is good at connection's compatibility and able to quickly connect with each other filter. But in the outer filter cut-off method, filter source is not necessary and connection is exactly done with other filter. In the end, we propose Directshow based filter cut-off model which compose of wanted filter connection and minimize error probability, through mixing up the advantages of two filter cut-off methods.

In order to develop a smart cultivation facility based on ICT (Information Communication Technology), a cultivation house was selected. Sensor devices were installed to monitor any changes in the cultivation environment. A control panel was constructed to monitor and control the data on environmental changes collected by the sensors. To efficiently manage the proceedings of the cultivation environment, the cultivation process was divided into 4 stages. We designed an environmental control module using these processes. PC and mobile phone software were designed for remote monitoring and control to develop a smart cultivation system that can conveniently manage the cultivation environment and produce mushrooms in a more stable manner.

The functional behavior of a portable consumer electronic (PCE) product is nearly all expressed with human-machine interaction (HMI) tasks. Although physical prototyping and computer aided design (CAD) software can show the appearance of the product, they cannot properly reflect its functional behavior. In this paper, we propose a virtual prototyping (VP) system that incorporates virtual reality and HMI functional simulation in order to enables users to capture not only the realistic look of a PCE product but also its functional behavior. We obtain geometric part models of the product and their assembly and kinematics information with the help of CAD and reverse engineering tools, and visualize them with various display tools. We adopt state transition methodology to capture the HMI functional behavior of the product into a state transition chart, which is later used to construct a finite state machine (FSM) for the functional simulation of the product. The FSM plays an important role to control the transition between states of the product. The proposed VP system receives input events such as mouse clicks on buttons and switches of the virtual prototype model, and it reacts to the events based on the FSM by activating associated activities. The VP system provides the realistic visualization of the product and the vivid simulation of its functional behavior. It can easily allow users to perform functional evaluation and usability testing. Moreover, it can greatly reduce communication errors occurring in a typical product development process. A case study about VP of an MP3 player is given to show the usefulness of the proposed VP system.
Since Deng Xiaoping's implementation of the "One China, Two Systems" policy, mainland China and the other Chinese regions of Hong Kong and Macau have cooperated in various ways to work towards successfully developing China's overall economy and industries. Particularly, cooperation between Guangdong Province and adjoining Hong Kong have been contributing to China's development, and this study explores their industry conditions including their current two governments policies designed to promote collaboration. The two partners were in a cooperative relationship even before the handover of Hong Kong, beginning with a "front shop, back factory" model built on their respective comparative advantages in labor-intensive industries in the 1980s. This cooperation effectively propelled the Pearl River Delta Region's industrialization process and enabled Hong Kong to transform from a manufacturing industry-based economy to a service industry-based economy. From the early 2000s, Guangdong and Hong Kong diversified their collaboration project from culture to high-tech. Also, both authorities produced several types of policies not only to promote both industries but also to harmonize their two different economic levels and models. As a result, the Guangdong and Hong Kong economies have developed remarkably well during the past two decades and continue to form future plans that carry plenty of optimism. Nonetheless, this study showed discrepancies between engineers and scientists from the two areas in their perception of their technology and science cooperation. Hong Kong experts were more negative in their responses but noted some successes of the collaboration, while Guangdong's group showed overall positive responses. This difference results from an unbalanced role in cooperation. Hong Kong's side responds to cooperation plans and takes on leading roles with more frequency than Guangdong's side in actual cooperation project processes.
