초음파 가스 유량계 개발 연구 (Study on the development of ultrasonic gas flowmeter)

  • Ultrasonic flowmeters have more advantages than the conventional method using pressure-difference. In these reasons, many advanced nations are already selling the commercial model. In RIST, we have been developed ultrasonic gas flow meter for the localization since a project was been contracted with POSCO in 1997. This paper describes a new ultrasonic gas flowmeter. This ultrasonic gas flowmeter is developed for accurate measurement of gases in a harsh environmental conditions. It is especially suited for measuring LDG, COG, BFG gases produced in iron & steel making process. In this study, we had developed the commercial model about the first tested model and applied a completed system to the POSCO gas line. Its performance has already well been proven by extensive field tests for several months in POSCO, iron & steel making company.

LandGEM 모델을 이용한 청주권 생활폐기물 매립장의 매립지가스 발생상수 및 메탄 잠재발생량 산정 (Estimation of Methane Generation Rate and Potential Methane Generation Capacity at Cheongju Megalo Landfill Site Based on LandGEM Model)

  • Methane is a potent greenhouse gas and methane emissions from landfill sites have been linked to global warming. In this study, LandGEM (Landfill Gas Emission Model) was applied to predict landfill gas quantity over time, and then this result was compared with the data surveyed on the site, Cheongju Megalo Landfill. LandGEM allows the input of site-specific values for methane generation rate (k) and potential methane generation capacity $L_o$, but in this study, k value of 0.04/yr and $L_o$ value of $100\;m^3$/ton were considered to be most appropriate for reflecting non-arid temperate region conventional landfilling like Cheongju Megalo Landfill. Relatively high discrepancies between the surveyed data and the predicted data about landfill gas seems to be derived from insufficient compaction of daily soil-cover, inefficient recovery of landfill gas and banning of direct landfilling of food waste in 2005. This study can be used for dissemination of information and increasing awareness about the benefits of recovering and utilizing LFG (landfill gas) and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.

RFID/USN 기반 지능형 가스안전관리 서비스를 위한 자율적 분석 연구 (A Study on Autonomic Analysis for Servicing Intelligent Gas Safety Management Based on RFID/USN)

  • As RFID/USN technology is used in the latest industry trend, the information analysis paradigm shifts to intelligence service environment. The intelligent service includes autonomic operation, which select activity by defining itself to the status of industry facilities. Furthermore, information analysis based on IT used to frequently data mining for detecting the meaning information and deriving new pattern. This paper suggest self-classifying of context-aware by applying data mining in gas facilities for serving the intelligent gas safety management. We modify data algorithm for fitting the domain of gas safety, construct context-aware model by using the proposed algorithm, and demonstrate our method. As the accuracy of our model is improved over 90%, the our approach can apply to intelligent gas safety management based on RFID/USN environments.

밀폐공간에서 파열면에 따른 가스폭발특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the characteristics of gas explosion with vent area)

  • 보통 가정이나 건물에서 화재 및 가스에 의한 사고 중에 가스의 폭발에 의한 사고는 폭발과 동시에 발생하는 압력 때문에 발생하는 건물의 붕괴로서 많은 인명피해 및 재산상의 손해를 가져온다. 이와 같은 2차적인 피해를 막기 위해 본 연구에서는 건물의 폭발시 발생하는 개구부의 크기 및 형태에 따른 모델을 선정하여 건물의 체적대비 개구부 면적에 따른 압력변화를 실험을 통하여 개구부의 면적 비를 도출하였으며, 개구부 형태에 따른 압력실험을 통하여 최소의 압력으로 피해을 막을 수 있는 모델을 선정하였다. 이를 이용하여 건물의 설계시 안전율을 고려하여 개구부의 면적 및 형태를 선정함으로써 2차 피해를 예방할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

The Determinants and their Time-Varying Spillovers on Liquefied Natural Gas Import Prices in China Based on TVP-FAVAR Model

  • China is playing more predominant role in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market worldwide and LNG import price is subject to various factors both at home and abroad. Nevertheless, previous studies rarely heed a multiple of factors. A time-varying parameter factor augmented vector auto-regression (TVP-FAVAR) model is adopted to discover the determinants of China's LNG import price and their dynamic impacts from January 2012 to December 2021. According to the findings, market fundamentals have a greater impact on the import price of natural gas in China than overall economic demand, financial considerations, and world oil prices. The primary determinants include domestic gas consumption, consumer confidence and other demand-side information. Then, there are diverse and time-varying spillover effects of the four common determinants on the volatility of China's LNG import price at different intervals and time nodes. The price volatility is more sensitive and long-lasting to domestic natural gas pricing reform than other negative shocks such as the Sino-US trade war and the COVID-19 pandemic. The results in this study further proves the importance of domestic natural gas market liberalization. China ought to do more to support the further marketization of natural gas prices while working harder to guarantee natural gas supplies.

중력모형을 이용한 온실가스 배출량추정 및 탄력성분석 (A Green House Gas Emission Estimation Based on Gravity Model and Its Elasticity)

  • 교통부문의 지속가능성(sustainability)을 유지하기 위하여 대중교통중심의 도시개발(transit oriented development, TOD), 자전거나 보행 등 녹색 교통수단의 이용활성화, 그리고 차량운행시 배출되는 온실가스(green house gas) 를 감축하는 정책 등 다양한 방안들이 제시되고 있다. 이중 온실가스 배출량에 대한 다양한 연구들이 제시되고 있으나, 교통측면의 행태적인 분석에는 한계를 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 교통측면에서 좀 더 행태적인 측면을 고려한 온실가스 배출량 추정식을 제시하는 것이 연구의 목적이다. 즉, 특정 존에서 발생하는 차량으로 인한 온실가스 배출량을 기종점간 통행수요(travel demand for each OD pair)와 통행거리(travel distance)를 반영하여 결정한다. 여기서 기종점간 통행수요는 통행비용의 함수로 중력모형(gravity model)을 이용하여 구해지며, 통행거리는 평균 통행거리가 아닌 기종점간 실제 통행거리를 고려한다는 점이 기존 연구와 차이가 된다. 또한, 본 연구에서 제시하는 온실가스 추정식의 적용성과 활용성을 검토하기 위하여 통행비용에 대한 온실가스 배출량의 민감도(sensitivity)와 탄력성(elasticity)을 유도하며, 정책적 측면에서 온실가스를 감축하기 위한 온실가스 통행료(green house gas pricing)의 부과 효과에 대해서도 검토해 본다.

상세 화학반응 모델을 이용한 발사체 터빈 배기가스의 이차연소 해석의 축대칭 해석 (An Axisymmetrical Study on the Secondary Reaction of Launch Vehicle Turbine Exhaust Gas Using the Detailed Chemistry Model)

  • 상세 화학반응 모델을 이용하여 3차원 터빈 배기가스 유동을 2차원 축대칭 유동으로 가정하여 해석하였다. GRI의 35 화학종 217 단계의 상세 모델과 메탄 반응만을 간략화 시킨 11화학종 15단계 모델을 적용하여 비교하였다. 메탄 화학반응을 적용한 결과 저부에서 터빈 배기가스의 이차 연소가 나타났고 터빈 배기 노즐이 없는 경우에 비하여 온도가 600K 정도 더 높게 나타났다. 실제 3차원 문제에서는 국부적인 온도는 더 높을 수 있음을 의미한다. 화학 반응 모델에 따라 저부에서의 연소 영역과 화학종 분포도 약간 다르지만 저부에서의 이차 연소는 모두 포착하였다. 다만 간략화된 모델인 경우 엔진 플룸의 구조에 약간의 영향을 주는 것을 관측된다.

단일액적연소현상에서 비회색체복사에 관한 연구 (Investigation of a droplet combustion with nongray gas radiation effects)

  • Single liquid droplet combustion processes including heating, evaporation, droplet burning and flame radiation were theoretically investigated by adopting nongray gas radiation model for the radiative transfer equation (RTE). n-Heptane was chosen as a fuel and the numerical results were compared with the experimental data available in the literature. The discrete ordinate method (DOM) was employed to solve the radiative transfer equation and the weighted sum of gray gases model (WSGGM) was applied to account for nongray effect by CO$_{2}$, and H$_{2}$0. Therefore, detailed effects by nongray gas and its comparison with the gray gas model could be figured out in the results. It is found that the radiative heat flux is higher when the nongray model is used, thereby reducing the maximum gas temperature and the flame thickness, but the total burning time increases due to the deceased conductive heat flux in nongray model. Consequently, a better agreement with experimental data could be obtained by using nongray model.

Rotordynamic Characteristics of an APU Gas Turbine Rotor-Bearing System Having a Tie Shaft

  • In this paper it is intended to set-up a sound model of the 60,000rpm 100kW prototype APU gas turbine rotor-bearing system, and particularly to investigate the influences of the tie shaft on the rotordynamic characteristics of the entire APU gas turbine rotor-bearing system, employing the dual shaft model. Firstly, a mock-up APU rotor has been constructed to test and verify the model. Analytical natural frequency results have agreed with the corresponding modal test ones to within 5% difference. Then, the rotordynamic characteristics of the prototype APU rotorbearing system have been investigated. Natural vibration and unbalance response analyses results have shown that the inner tie shaft resonance can cause high enough vibration of the outer main rotor shaft. This could be a concern as the rotor journals operate on very thin air film at high speed. It is concluded as a conservative design practice that the inner tie shaft should be explicitly modeled in the rotordynamic analysis of the APU rotor-bearing system.

Model and Field Testing of a Heavy-Duty Gas Turbine Combustor

  • The results of stand and field testing of a combustion chamber for a heavy-duty 150 MW gas turbine are discussed. The model represented one of 14 identical segments of a tubular multican combustor constructed 1:1 scale. The model experiments were executed at a lower pressure than that in a real gas turbine. Combustion efficiency, pressure loss factor, pattern factor, liner wall temperature, flame radiation, fluctuating pressure and NOx emission were measured at partial and full loads for both model and on-site testing. The comparison of these items in the stand and field test results led to has the development of a method of calculation and the improvement of gas turbine combustors.
