  • Available daylight in inside offers comfortable view environment, and psychological and physical advantages to people in a room. Architectural design has a need for daylight prediction. But it is difficult to predict the illuminance values in daylight system. Using various Daylight simulation software is easy and simple, but we can find different results under the same conditions. This study compares with illuminance values from simulation (Lightscape 3.2, Relux 2007, Radiance 3.9) and Mock-up experiment with a same space and parameter of daylight (location of space and window, date, time and sky condition).

  • Mock-up model can be applied to measure accurate performance data but difficult to apply the variables in experiment. There can be a slight experiment errors in Scale model, but various parameters can be applied for a objective experiment. This paper aims to compare the daylighting performance in 1, 1/5, 1/10 scale model of offices and analyze the experiment errors to certificate the influence of model experiment. To analyse daylighting performance, a comparison of a Mock-up model, sized $12.0m(w){\times}7.2m(l){\times}3.7m(h)$, designed for experimentation of daylighting systems and its 1:5, 1:10 scale model. It has an identical configuration of reference room and the test room. For the test room, the lightshelf system was designed as Micro-4 reflective material. To assess work plane illuminance and light factor, photometric sensors of each room were installed at work-plane(6 points) and exterior horizontal illuminance (1 point). And luminance of window, rare of the room was measured under clear sky. It is to be monitored by Agilent data logger, photometric sensor Li-cor and the Radiant Imaging ProMetric 1400. Comparisons with a light factor, increase-decrease ratio and luminance are discussed.

  • In this study, conducted a Mock-up test on the use of TBC and CGS fine aggregates for the purpose of reducing the upper and lower hydration heat according to the horizontal division and punching of mass concrete. As a result of the experiment, it is judged that it will be effective in preventing temperature cracking of mass concrete when mixing the upper and lower parts and replacing CGS.

  • The criticality analysis of VVER-1000 mock-up benchmark experiments from the LR-0 research reactor operated by the Research Center Rez in the Czech Republic has been conducted with the MCS Monte Carlo code developed at the Computational Reactor Physics and Experiment laboratory of the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology. The main purpose of this work is to evaluate the newest ENDF/B-VIII.0 nuclear data library against the VVER-1000 mock-up integral experiments and to validate the criticality analysis capability of MCS for light water reactors with hexagonal fuel lattices. A preliminary code/code comparison between MCS and MCNP6 is first conducted to verify the suitability of MCS for the benchmark interpretation, then the validation against experimental data is performed with both ENDF/B-VII.1 and ENDF/B-VIII.0 libraries. The investigated experimental data comprises six experimental critical configurations and four experimental pin-by-pin power maps. The MCS and MCNP6 inputs used for the criticality analysis of the VVER-1000 mock-up are available as supplementary material of this article.

  • In this study, Full-scale hollow slab Mock-up with VPS(Void Plywood Slab System) was produced. Through Mock-up, the safety of the flat plate hollow slab against short-term sagging and long-term sagging is to be evaluated. The hollow rate of the mock-up specimen to which the hollow core slab was applied was designed to be 24%. When loading through concrete blocks, the most central part of the slab was deflection 8.88mm when loading. However, it shows a safe value compared to the reference value (ln/240=17.93mm) for short-term deflection. As a result of 3 months of measurement of the mock-up experiment, the deflection at the center of the slab increased by 6.792mm from the initial deflection. In addition, it was found that the reference value by the load used suggested by KBC2016 was satisfied.

Performance evaluation of sea water heat exchanger installed in the submerged bottom-structure of floating architecture

  • Floating architecture is a type of building that is geographically located on a sea or a river. It floats under the influence of buoyancy, and does not have an engine for moving it. Korea is a peninsula surrounded by sea except on the north side, so floating architectures have been mainly focused on two points: solving the issue of small territory and providing various leisure & cultural spaces. Floating architectures are expected to save energy effectively, if they use sea water heat, which is known to be clean energy with infinite reserves. To use sea water heat as the heat source and/or heat sink, this study proposes a model in which a sea water heat exchanger is embedded in the concrete structure in the lower part of the floating architecture that is submerged under the sea. Based on the results of performance evaluations of the sea water heat exchanger using CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analysis and mock-up experiments under various conditions, it is found out that the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of the heat exchanger is in the range of $3.06{\sim}9.57^{\circ}C$, and that the quantity of heat transfer measured is in the range of 3,812~7,180 W. The CFD evaluation results shows a difference of 5% with respect to the results of mock-up experiment.

Evaluation of Lighting Environment of Residential Space for Senior People by each Life Behavior with Mock-up Model (실물대 모형을 이용한 고령자 주거공간의 생활행위별 조명환경 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to execute evaluation experiment to know the evaluation property of lighting environment of residential space for senior people, considering visual characteristics along aging, and finally provide basic data for the lighting plan to ensure the visual amenity. Processes of this study are as follows;1) Analyzed the variation property of visual sensibility and visual ability of senior people along aging. 2) Selected 3 types of life behavior(rest, conversation and reading) after checking life behavior in residential space for senior people based on advanced study. 3) Made the Mock-up Model that Dimming is possible, actual furnace to model. 4) Executed sensitivity evaluation experiment about lighting environment. 5) Analyzed evaluation property of lighting environment of residential space for senior people. Results of this study are as follows, 1) With lens-filter, we got comfort and amenity in bulb-color lamp which has similar color temperature with red of lens filter. 2) Lighting environment tests during conversation : With lens filters, they felt comfort on bulb color in case of higher illuminance than 850lux and daylight color in 500lux. 3) Lighting environment tests at reading : With lens filter, bulb color got better score in brightness and appropriateness than daylight color.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze daylight distribution and light characteristics on the Ma-ji and Roller Shade fabric, and to investigate a possibility of using it as a shading system. Using a 1/2 Mock-up model, daylight distribution is analyzed with the Ma-ji and Sun-ji (Korean traditional paper) which have good efficiency and less glare. Ma-ji has the best daylight distribution, so that daylight experiment is conducted with the Ma-ji and Roller Shade fabric. In current office buildings and apartment houses, daylight characteristics of Korean traditional paper windows could be used as preliminary data to develop a window system which makes better daylight performance.

  • Our country has experienced variations in temperature as belong to the area of the continental climate that shows four significant seasons. These occur quality of construction. As the hydration of cement processes, the strength of concrete is developed. In order to improve the quality of concrete, various conditions including temperature and humidity should be maintained appropriately and concrete itself should be cured sufficiently This paper is basic experiment for estimating influence of strength by seasonal mock-up concrete's heat of hydration and estimate relationship of compressive strength development by curing temperature. And show basic document as quality control.
