A Study on Mobility Support Center Service Using Structural Equation Model (구조방정식모형을 활용한 이동지원센터 서비스 이용에 관한 연구)

  • Most local governments operate Mobility Support Centers to provide transportation convenience for the transportation vulnerable. A Mobility Support Center makes various efforts to improve the mobility of the transportation vulnerable. One of them is the operation of a Special Transportation Vehicle (STV). On the other hand, during implementation, problems, such as insufficient number of vehicles and high demand, have been found. Nevertheless, improving the service by providing a large amount of STV can be a problem in terms of the budget. Therefore, it is necessary to gather opinions of the users and identify the problems during the utilization of a Mobility Support Center. Moreover, it is necessary to improve various services to achieve a better and more comfortable utilization. In this research, SEM was used to analyze the importance of the Mobility Support Center for the transportation vulnerable. The importance and performance drawn and examined through an analysis and questionnaire survey were used to propose IPA results that consider the importance and performance at the same time. In addition, this research also suggest a service improvement priority based on the analysis result. For the analysis, this research conducted a questionnaire survey on the actual users and their guardians who use STV in Cheonan-city, as well as factor analysis and reliability analysis. The results showed that the 'Charge system' is not affected by the service because it is fully satisfied by the low price when compared to public transportation. In addition, 'Vehicle use' is more important than 'Convenience' service. IPA analysis showed that it is necessary to improve the priority, kindness, waiting time, and call center response for the better and more comfortable utilization of Mobility Support Centers for the transportation vulnerable.

The Status of Mobility Disadvantaged Persons with Physical Disabilities & Suggested Improvements in Chungnam (충남지역 지체장애인의 이동권 실태 및 개선방안 연구)

  • This study investigated the general characteristics of mobility disadvantaged persons with disabilities, and to suggest implications to ensure personal mobility with the greatest possible independence for the physically disabled in community. The survey questionnaire included the categories as follows: the general characteristics of the participants, the status of outing and mobility, usage of low-floor buses & taxi for the disabled, service improvement, and mobile support center. Data collected from 219 with physical disabilities were analyzed for this purpose by using descriptive statistics. The study results showed that 54.6% of the total tended to go out everyday, and 17.0% rarely. 53.4% could go out without any assistance, and the major obstacles not to go out were stairs and inconvenience of public transportation. 26.9% used low-floor buses, and 71.1% preferred to use taxi for the disabled. The average waiting time for the usage of low-flow buses and taxi was 66.57 minute and 42.65 minute, separately. 78.7% insisted that the function of mobile support center in the community should be expanded, whereas only 49.8% recognized the role of mobile support center. Based on the study results, the researchers suggested to facilitate access by persons with disabilities to mobility aids, and to improve the actual state of pedestrian environment. In addition, the function of mobile support center should be expanded to help the mobility disadvantaged persons live independently in community, thereby contributing to the promotion of their quality of life.

Organic TFT fabricated on ultra-thin flexible plastic with a rigid glass support

  • We have fabricated pentacene OTFT on ultra-thin flexible polyimide film with a rigid glass support. Polyimide film of the thickness of $10{\mu}m$ has formed on glass by spin coating from the solution. After the entire OTFT process, the OTFT exhibited a fieldeffect mobility of $0.4\;cm^2/Vs$, an $I_{on}/I_{off}$ ratio of $10^7$ and a subthreshold swing of 0.7 V/dec. The OTFT on polyimide film has been detached from the glass support and laminated on a plastic support of $130\;{\mu}m-thick$ PET film. After the detach process, in spite of the degrading of its field-effect mobility, the OTFT showed high $I_{on}/I_{off}$ as high $as{\sim}10^6$.

A Lightweight NEMO Protocol to Support 6LoWPAN

  • The Network Mobility (NEMO) and IPv6 over Low power WPAN (6LoWPAN) protocols are the two most important technologies in current networking research and are vital for the future ubiquitous environment. In this paper, we propose a compressed packet header format to support the mobility of 6LoWPAN. Also, a Lightweight NEMO protocol is proposed to minimize the signaling overhead between 6LoWPAN mobile routers and 6LoWPAN gateways by using a compressed mobility header. Performance results show that our Lightweight NEMO protocol can minimize total signaling costs and handoff signaling delay.

Analysis of Golf Ball Mobility and Balancing based on IoT Sports Environments

  • Recently, IoT researches using sensor data based on embedded networks in various fields including healthcare and sports have been continuously attempted. This study analyzes golf ball mobility to support IoT application in golf sports field. Generally, since the difference in density occurs due to the condition of the inner material and the abnormal state at the time of the outer skin joining during the manufacturing of the golf ball, the weight of each subset is equal for any two points with the same radius in the sphere cannot be guaranteed. For this reason, the deflected weight of the sphere has the undesirable effect of hitting the ball in a direction in which the weight of the ball is heavy. In this study, it is assumed that there is a unique center of gravity of the ball, and even if the golf ball cannot be manufactured perfectly, it wants to establish the basic principle to accurately recognize or mark the putting line based on the center of gravity. In addition, it is evaluated how the mobility of the golf ball with a deviation from the center of gravity of the golf ball affects the progress path (or movement direction) and the moving distance (or carry distance) after the golfer hits. The basic model of the mobility of the golf ball can help the golfer exercise model and the correlation analysis.   • V2X communication is a technology in which a vehicle exchanges information with various entities such as other vehicles, infrastructure, networks, pedestrians, etc. through a wired or wireless network. Recently, V2X communication technology has been steadily developed and recently it has played an important role in autonomous cooperation driving technology combined with autonomous vehicle technology. Autonomous vehicles can utilize the external information received via V2X communication to extend the recognition range of existing sensors and to support more safe and natural autonomous driving. In order to operate these autonomous cooperative vehicles on public roads, the security and reliability of autonomous V2X communication should be verified in advance. In this paper, we present test scenarios and test procedures of secure V2X communication for cooperative automated driving and present verification results.

A Study on the Location Selection of Low-Floor Bus Stop using the Use Information of the Mobility Support Center (교통약자 이동지원센터의 이용정보를 활용한 저상버스 정류장 입지선정에 관한 연구)

  • South Korea entered an aged society phase in 2017 with the elderly accounting for 14% or higher of the entire population. It is expected to enter a super-aged society phase in 2026. The mobility handicapped, including the disabled and the elderly, are expected to grow continuously, and the demand for transport service for the mobility handicapped will definitely increase further. Thus, there is thus a need for various research to increase the utilization rate of low-floor buses among the mobility handicapped. This study analyzed the locations of getting on and off transportation means, time of departure and arrival, purpose of use, and frequency of use by the day among the mobility handicapped by making use of the information about their use of special transport service run by the mobility support center for the mobility handicapped. The study then proposed a method of selecting locations for low-floor bus stops to reflect the distribution and need of getting on and off transportation means among the mobility handicapped with such spatial analysis techniques as geocoding, overlapping analysis, buffer analysis, and generate tessellations. Finally, the study selected 228 locations for low-floor bus stops in Cheonan and reported a need to add 35 low-floor bus stops after eliminating the ones where the locations overlapped the old ones.

About the Necessity for Development of Autonomous Mobility Device for Children with Severe Developmental Retardation

  • In this paper, I will report the cases of children who are able to study at kindergarten or elementary school because they learned how to move by themselves using a moving aid before school age, and I will also discuss the development of a mobility device which allows severely disabled preschoolers to practice moving around by themselves safely and easily at home and institutions.

  • Various schemes for mobility support are currently proposed in NGN. However the performance comparison of all existing schemes is not relatively examined as yet. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the location registration and handover procedure of MIPv6, IP2, Q.MMF, IMS, compare and analyze the location registration time and cost and handover latency time using various performance parameters and simulation for the performance analysis. As a result of analysis, when Location Manager locates in the center of core network, IP2 showed better performance than other schemes.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the current interior conditions of Child Care Center and to suggest the interior planning guidelines of Child Care Center. Data were collected through questionnaire survey including observations and interviews. The sample consisted of 84 Child Care Centers. The data were analyzed by using SPSS-PC. The major findings were as follows: (1) Most of Child Care Centers are not in the desirable Interior environment. To enhance the quality of Child Care Center, the physical interior environment of Child Care Center should be influence on the development of child. (2) Functional spaces should be organized to support the child' behavior. Multi-purposed room should be provide to encourage and adapt to variety of large-muscle activities. (3) The design of Child Care Center should be emphasized to satisfy teachers and children who are directed users. (4) Interior finishings looks too monotonous and do not have characteristics. Natural materials, various colors and patterns are recommendable. Furniture should be designed to meet the functions of flexibility, mobility, and security.
