  • In this paper, we propose a cost-effective location and service management scheme in LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks, which a per-user service proxy is created to serve as a gateway between the mobile user and all client-server applications engaged by the mobile user. The service proxy is always co-located with the mobile user's location database such that whenever the MU's location database moves during a location hand-off, a service hand-off also ensues to co-locate the service proxy with the location database. This allows the proxy to know the location of the mobile user all the time to reduce the network communication cost for service delivery. We analyze four integrated location and service management schemes. Our results show that the centralized scheme performs the best when the mobile user's SMR (service to mobility ratio) is low and ${\upsilon}$(session to mobility ratio) is high, while the fully distributed scheme performs the best when both SMR and ${\upsilon}$ are high. In all other conditions, the dynamic anchor scheme is the best except when the service context transfer cost is high under which the static anchor scheme performs the best. Through analytical results, we demonstrate that different users with vastly different mobility and service patterns should adopt different integrated location and service management methods to optimize system performance.

  • In this paper, a Wireless USB (WUSB) protocol is adopted for development of ASMD (Adaptive Source Multi Device) N-screen wireless services. WUSB is the USB technology merged with WiMedia PHY and Distributed-MAC (D-MAC). However, the current WUSB protocol can't provide seamless N-screen streaming services to moving WUSB devices in home network environment. Therefore, to provide the ASMD N-screen services through WUSB based on D-MAC protocol, a channel management scheme is proposed to support seamless mobility between adjacent ASMD groups for wireless IPTV N-screen services. In simulation results, proposed ASMD channel management (ACM) scheme is compared with conventional WUSB channel management scheme in view points of throughput, average path interference and energy consumption according to various numbers of nodes and elapsed simulation times. Through simulation results, it is explained that proposed ASMD channel management (ACM) scheme should be adopted in the WUSB protocol to realize ASMD N-screen wireless services.

  • Recently, due to an explosive growth of the internet traffic, the limitations of a current framework for a mobility management have been focused. The current centralized mobility management is prone to several problems and limitations: suboptimal routing, low scalability, signaling overhead, and a single point of failure. To overcome these problems and limitations, IETF is working about the distributed mobility management scheme that the centralized mobility functions of HA(Home Agents) are distributed to networks edges such as access routers. These distributions of mobility functions overcome the limitations of the centralized mobility managements and go with the trend of flat networks e.g. more simple network architecture. This paper analyzes the distributed mobility management based on Proxy Mobile IPv6 and demonstrates the performance superiority.

  • The development of multimedia applications has followed the development of high-speed networks. By improving the performance of mobile devices, it is possible to provide high-transfer-speed broadband and seamless mobile multicasting services between indoor and outdoor environments. Multicasting services support efficient group communications. However, mobile multicasting services have two constraints: tunnel convergence and handoff latency. In order to solve these problems, many protocols and handoff methods have been studied. In this paper, we propose inter local mobility anchor (inter-LMA) optimized handoff model for mobile multicasting services in proxy mobility IPv6 based (PMIPv6-based) networks. The proposed model removes the tunnel convergence issue and reduces the router processing costs. Further, it the proposed model allows for the execution of fast handoff operations with adaptive transmission mechanisms. In addition, the proposed scheme exhibits low packet delivery costs and handoff latency in comparison with existing schemes and ensures fast handoff when moving the inter-LMA domain.

  • In wireless networks, efficient mobility management to support of mobile users is very important. Several mobility management schemeshave been proposed with the aim of reducing the signaling traffic of MN(Mobile Node). Among them, PMIPv6 (Proxy Mobile IPv6) is similar with host-based mobility management protocols but MN does not require any process for mobility. By introducing new mobile agent like MAG (Mobile Access Gateway) and LMA (Local Mobility Anchor), it provides IP mobility to MN. In this paper, we propose the analytical model to evaluate the mean signalingdelay and the mean bandwidth according to the type of MN mobility. As a result of mathematical analysis, MF-PMIP (Multicasting-based FastPMIP) outperforms compared to F-PMIP and PMIP in terms of parameters for the performance evaluation.

  • In this paper, we present and analyze 5G system and IEEE time-sensitive networking(TSN) and propose a novel mobility management scheme for time sensitive communications in 5G-TSN to support ultra-low latency networks. Time-sensitive networking(TSN) has a promising future in the Industrial Automation and Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT), as a key technology that is able to provide low-latency, high-reliable and deterministic communications over the Ethernet. When a TSN capable UE moves the TSN service coverage from the non-TSN service coverage, the UE cannot get the TSN service promptly because the related mobility management is not performed appropriately. For the mobility situation with the TSN service coverage, the proposed scheme reports TSN capability to the network and triggers the initial registration in order to be provided the TSN service immediately and ultra-low latency communications compared to existing schemes in 5G mobile networks.

  • In this paper, we propose a network-based IP mobility management scheme, called Access Independent Mobile Service with IPv4/IPv6 Dual Stack (AIMS-DS), which can provide high-quality multimedia services to IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack mobile nodes (MNs) without any interruption over various wireless/wired access networks. The proposed scheme provides an MN with a fast and reliable mobility service among heterogeneous wireless access networks through the network-based control, the complete separation method of control and data plane, the cross-layer (layer2 and layer3) interworking method for handover control acceleration, etc, In addition, the proposed AIMS-DS can provide seamless mobility service to an MN under the environments of IPv4/IPv6 coexisting networks through the home address mobility support and transport network support. Through performance evaluation with computer simulations, we have shown the superiority of the proposed AIMS-DS in terms of handover latency, packet 1085 and packet delivery latency.

이동 지역성을 갖는 이동단말들을 위한 위치갱신은 지역 PVLR(Proxy-Visitor Location Register) 갱신에 의해 위치갱신 비용을 줄일 수 있다. Abstract In this paper, we propose a new location management scheme for cellular communication systems with the goal of reducing both location update and query cost. In order to reduce both location update and query cost, the proposed scheme uses user locality. User locality consists of movement and call locality. For mobile terminals with movement locality, location update cost is reduced by local PVLR(Proxy-Visitor Location Register) update. Location query cost is reduced by local PVLR query for mobile terminals with call locality. Through analytical models, we analyze the performance of the proposed scheme and compare it with that of the IS-41 scheme. The measures of comparison used are the network cost, the database cost, and the call set up delay. For all these measures, the proposed scheme performs better than the location management scheme defined in the IS-41 standard. Result comparison also shows that the our scheme performs better than the IS-41 scheme, regardless of CMR(Call-to-Mobility Ratio).

  • This paper specifies a low-cost global mobility management architecture and protocol procedure called LC-$GM^2$, which is based on Proxy Mobile IPv6. In LC-$GM^2$, mobility management is performed by the network entity. The benefit is the elimination of the wireless link data delivery tunnel overhead between a mobile node and the access router. To compare with the well-known Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 mobility management protocol and GPMIP, the location update, packet delivery, and total cost functions generated by a mobile node during its average domain residence time are formulated for each protocol based on Fluid-flow mobility model. Then, the impacts of various system parameters on the cost functions are analyzed. The analytical results indicate that the proposed global mobility management protocol can guarantee lower total costs.

  • In wireless network, we propose a predictive location update scheme which considers mobile user's(MU's) mobility patterns. MU's mobility patterns can be found from a movement history data. The prediction accuracy and model complexity depend on the degree of application of history data. The more data we use, the more accurate the prediction is. As a result, the location management cost is reduced, but complexity of the model increases. In this paper, we classify MU's mobility patterns into four types. For each type, we find the respective optimal number of application of history data, and predictive location area by using the simulation. The optimal numbers of four types are shown to be different. When we use more than three application of history data, the simulation time and data storage are shown to increase very steeply.
