  • A wheel chair lift can be useful to make a social integration by expanding the economical and cultural activities through enhancing the mobile areas for the mobility handicapped. This research is about the guide when designing a wheel chair lift which extracted demands of wheel chair riders by the new paradigm of the high-speed railroad and social integration by securing the mobile areas and analysis on the user. Also the basic size was extracted to be applied to the design through analysis on the outer size of wheel chairs and researches on their mobility. The wheel chair lift design guideline was offered by reviewing the current law on wheel chair lifts.

디지털 유목민 문화를 위한 현대 패션디자인의 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Modern Fashion Design for Digital Nomadic Culture)

  • The purpose of this study was to delve into what type of expression mode of fashion design could suit the life style of digital nomads, as the appearance of nomadic life style was concurrent with people's modified way of thinking and sociocultural changes in today's digital society. It's basically meant to define the roles of fashion design, which was discussed as a way of improving the quality of life as a sort of 'culture,' and to suggest some of the right directions for fashion design in the future. The culture of today's digital era is marked by a pursuit of high mobility and high speed, and by nomadic disposition that is built on flexible thinking. The kind of design that lets people carry nomadic things with them and thereby improve their mobility can satisfy their needs for mobility, and body-friendly design that functions as a device of information in itself can meet their needs for mobility as well. The leading example of the latter is a wearable computer, and wearable scientific technology will be taken to another level, thanks to the advance in digital technology. In the future, that will be more accessible to people in general, and subminiature digital equipment will gain popularity in fashion industry as part of textiles and clothing or as an accessory. And specific kinds of design will be widespread, including variable design, multi-functional design and modular design. The first serves as a tool to protect the human body and to facilitate the adaptability of it to the given circumstances, and the second is characterized by a superb physical and psychological protectability. The third lets wearers bring design to completion at their own option, owing to an increase in the number of open-minded people and the development of interactive media. All these types of design could be called a wearer-friendly, human-oriented design that is specifically appropriate for the digital age. Wearers can actively be involved in design process as productive consumers, which is expected to help increase opener practices in fashion design sector.

접촉 조인트에서의 운동자유도 (Mobility in the Contact Joint of a Mechanism)

  • The mobility (degree of freedom) of mechanisms can be regarded as independent coordinate to define its position. This concept is essential for kinematics, and for designing mechanisms in the practical point of view. Gruebler's equation has been applied to estimate the mobility using number of links and joints of a mechanism. In practical case, there are many types of mechanisms, which transfer motion by direct contact between two links. However, no exact kinematic definition has existed for the joint that the contact takes place in a mechanism. In this paper, a new concept of contact joint is defined and modified Gruebler's equation is suggested to calculate mobility of a mechanism with the joint. This concept would be useful in mechanism design because it will be possible to manage many contact mechanisms with kinematic exactness.

Design of Mobility System for Ground Model of Planetary Exploration Rover

  • In recent years, a number of missions have been planned and conducted worldwide on the planets such as Mars, which involves the unmanned robotic exploration with the use of rover. The rover is an important system for unmanned planetary exploration, performing the locomotion and sample collection and analysis at the exploration target of the planetary surface designated by the operator. This study investigates the development of mobility system for the rover ground model necessary to the planetary surface exploration for the benefit of future planetary exploration mission in Korea. First, the requirements for the rover mobility system are summarized and a new mechanism is proposed for a stable performance on rough terrain which consists of the passive suspension system with 8 wheeled double 4-bar linkage (DFBL), followed by the performance evaluation for the mechanism of the mobility system based on the shape design and simulation. The proposed mobility system DFBL was compared with the Rocker-Bogie suspension system of US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration and 8 wheeled mobility system CRAB8 developed in Switzerland, using the simulation to demonstrate the superiority with respect to the stability of locomotion. On the basis of the simulation results, a general system configuration was proposed and designed for the rover manufacture.

철도시설의 배리어프리 실태조사 및 분석 (A Study on the Analysis and Investigation about Barrier-Free in Railroad Facilities)

  • The mobility and accessibility enhancement is gradually becoming a global interest due to the growth in the aging population and concerns about people with disabilities. The main purpose of this study is to know the current situation in barrier-free level in railroad facilities in order to allow the mobility handicapped to travel in a safe and convenient manner. The research has started with investigating current situation for the mobility handicapped people and explores the needs of barrier-free facilities. 84 domestic railroad facilities were evaluated based on assessment tool developed from the mobility handicapped act. As a result, the fact that the mobility handicapped experienced limited accessibility due to various types of obstacles in the facilities was discovered. Based on the evaluation, obstacles in the facilities were analyzed and categorized by specific dimensions, users' accessibility, mobility, usability, and clarity (way-finding). This study suggests barrier-free design for passenger facilities focused on train station. Because mobility and accessibility are emphasized in current society, improvement of the mobility handicapped' movement should be considered. Barrier-free design for passenger facilities should be realized throughout comprehending the reasons why these obstacles occur in the facilities not using installation convenience facilities. This study has meaning in finding out the obstacles in each cause of occurrence(accessibility, mobility, usability, and clarity (way-finding)).

  • 기존 이동성 관리 기법들은 IP 기반의 코어 네트워크와 다양한 접근 네트워크를 수용하는 차세대 네트워크에서 활용하기에는 부족한 점이 많다. 현재 ETRI에서는 차세대 네트워크에서의 이동성 관리에 관한 ITU-T 요구사항을 만족시키는 AIMS (Access Independent Mobility Service) 시스템을 개발 중에 있다. AIMS 시스템은 차세대 네트워크에서 이종망간의 이동성 관리에 우수한 성능을 지닌다. 한편, 최근에 많이 활용되는 사용자 단말은 여러 개의 통신 인터페이스를 지니고 있어서 Wi-Fi와 3G와 같은 서로 다른 여러 네트워크에 동시에 접속할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 AIMS 시스템에서 이동성 지원을 받는 단말들이 여러 네트워크에 동시에 접속할 경우 접속 네트워크 기술 간에 선택적으로 데이터 플로우를 이동시킬 수 있는 플로우 이동성(flow mobility) 기법을 설계하고 NS-3 시뮬레이션 구현을 통하여 제안 기법을 검증한 결과를 제시한다. 또한, 시뮬레이션 수행 결과를 통하여 제안 기법이 다양한 접근 네트워크를 지닌 이동 네트워크에서 네트워크의 지원을 보다 효율적으로 활용하게 함을 입증한다.

A Study of Data Interoperability System using DBaaS for Mobility Handicapped

  • As the number of "Mobility Handicapped" increases, the incidence of "Mobility Handicapped" traffic accidents is also increasing. In order to reduce the incidence of traffic accidents in the "Mobility Handicapped", a service providing system for "Mobility Handicapped" is required. Since these services have different data formats, data heterogeneity occurs. Therefore, the system should resolve the data heterogeneity by mapping the format of the data. In this paper, we design DBaaS as a mobility handicapped system for data interoperability. This system provides a service to extend the flashing time of the traffic lights according to the condition of "Mobility Handicapped" on the occurrence of a fall or a crosswalk in a crosswalk where there is a risk of a traffic accident. These services can reduce the incidence of traffic accidents in "Mobility Handicapped".

유리단 국소의치에서 Suprabulge Clasp와 Infrabulge Clasp가 지대치 동요에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effect of Suprabulge Clasp and Infrabulge Clasp on the Mobility of Abutment Teeth for Distal Extension Removable Partial Dentures)

  • Distal-extension removable partial dentures have long been implicated in the increase in mobility and the destruction of the supporting structures of the primary abutment teeth. Various clasping systems have traditionally been used to retain distal extension removable partial dentures, and other designs have been proposed to minimize torquing forces on the abutment teeth. Most recent studies investigating the effects of removable partial dentures on abutment teeth have been performed in it laboratory setting. Results obtained from in vitro research have given dentists insight into removable partial denture design, but laboratory test model cannot be constructed that simulates actual functional or parafunctiona1 movements and forces. The purpose of this study was to clinically evaluate the degree of tooth mobility produced by two clasping systems (suprabulge type and infrabulge type) used for distal extension removable partial dentures. Akers clasp and R.P.I. system were selected for the evaluation, and four patients required a distal extension removable partial denture on the mandibular arch were selected for participation in the study. Two partial dentures were constructed in the same condition expect the design of clasp. All abutments in the study were mandibular first or second premolars. Measurements of mobility were made with a research tool designed by $M\"{u}hlemann$. This instrument, periodontometer, measures tooth mobility in the mouth by means of a dial gauge accurated to 0.01mm when the tooth is stressed with a force meter. Lingual and buccal deflection of abutment tooth was measured using buccal and lingual pressure. The amount of force applied was 500gm. Tooth mobility tests were made at four key stages; 1. Before insertion of the first removable partial denture, baseline mobility was establsihed. 2. After wearing of the first prosthesis, measurement was made at weekly intervals for 4 weeks. 3. The removable partial denture was then taken from the patient, and tooth mobility was measured again at weekly intervals until the patient's established baseline mobility had returned. 4. The second prosthesis of different clasp design was worn for a month and evaluated in the same manner as the first. The sequence of placement of clasping system was alternated between patients. The following results were obtained from this study; 1. The mobility of abutment tooth increased during the initial stage of wear and returned to baseline mobility after removal of removable partial dentures. 2. The mobility of abutment tooth showed no difference between Akers clasp and I-bar clasp during the 4-week test period. 3. All teeth tested showed greater mobility toward the buccal than the lingual direction.

A Scalable Multicasting with Group Mobility Support in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

  • In mobile ad hoc networks, an application scenario requires mostly collaborative mobility behavior. The key problem of those applications is scalability with regard to the number of multicast members as well as the number of the multicast group. To enhance scalability with group mobility, we have proposed a multicast protocol based on a new framework for hierarchical multicasting that is suitable for the group mobility model in MANET. The key design goal of this protocol is to solve the problem of reflecting the node's mobility in the overlay multicast tree, the efficient data delivery within the sub-group with group mobility support, and the scalability problem for the large multicast group size. The results obtained through simulations show that our approach supports scalability and efficient data transmission utilizing the characteristic of group mobility.

퍼스널 모빌리티 제품용 자이로스코프 센서를 이용한 방향지시등 제작을 위한 디자인과 기술에 관한 융복합 연구 (A Convergent Study on the Design and Technology for the Production of Turn Signals for Personal Mobility Devices Using Gyroscope Sensors)

  • 국내에서 주 5일제 근무가 시행되어 많은 사람들이 주말을 즐기기 위해 취미활동이나 레저활동 혹은 캠핑 등에 관심이 집중되고 있다. 또한 최근 출퇴근을 위한 퍼스널 모빌리티 제품도 샤오미를 통한 가격 인하 제품의 출시로 직장인들에게 많이 판매되고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 본 연구는 레저활동이나 혹은 퍼스널 모빌리티 제품 사용에 있어서의 안전을 위한 자이로스코프 센서를 이용한 방향지시등의 개발을 목적으로 하고 있다. 현재 레저활동이나 퍼스널 모빌리티 제품의 안전을 위한 방향지시등의 제작 사례와 문제점등을 알아 보고 그것을 보완할 수 있는 사용자의 안전을 위한 방향지시등 개발을 개발하였다. 그모양은 원형의 링으로 LED를 사용하여 사용자의 움직임 방향을 후측방에 지시할 수 있다. 이러한 연구는 퍼스널모빌리티 제품을 사용하는 사용자를 위한 하나의 해결책이 될 수있다.
