  • The problem of selecting base station location in the design of mobile communication system has been basically regarded as a problem of assigning maximum users in the cell to the minimum base stations while maintaining minimum SIR. and it is NP hard. The objective function of warehouse location problem, which has been used by many researchers, is not proper function in the base station location problem in CDMA mobile communication, The optimal and approximate solutions have been presented by using proposed object function and algorithms of exact solution, and the simulation results have been assessed and analyzed. The optimal and approximate solutions are found by using mixed integer programming instead of meta-heuristic search methods.

  • One of the first decisions that a radio network designer must take is the location of base stations and the distance between them in order to give the best coverage to a region and, possibly, to reduce deployment costs. In this paper, the authors give an insight to this matter by presenting a possible solution to a real problem: Planning the base stations layout for a universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) in the city of Barcelona. At the basis of this problem, there is the interdependence between coverage and capacity in a wideband-code division multiple access (W-CDMA) system, which is a new element in the planning of BS layout for mobile communications. This aspect has been first treated with an analytical study of the cell coverage range for a specific environment and service. The achieved results have been checked with the help of snapshot simulations together with a geographical information system (GIS) tool incorporated in the simulator that allows to perform analysis and to visualize results in a useful way. By using the simulator, it is also possible to study a more complex environment, that of a set of base stations providing multiple services to a large number of users.

  • Recently, introduced a cloud computing technology to the IT industry, smart phones, it has become possible connection between mobility terminal such as a tablet PC. For dissemination and popularization of movable wireless terminal, the same operation have focused on a viable mobile cloud in various terminal. Also, it evolved Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) technology, utilizing a Body Sensor Network(BSN), which research is underway to build large Ubiquitous Sensor Network(USN). BSN is based on large-scale sensor networks, it integrates the state information of the patient's body, it has been the need to build a managed system. Also, by transferring the acquired sensor information to HIS(Hospital Information System), there is a need to frequently monitor the condition of the patient. Therefore, In this paper, possible sensor information exchange between terminals in a mobile cloud environment, by integrating the data obtained by the body sensor HIS and interoperable data DBaaS (DataBase as a Service) it will provide a base of mBodyCloud System. Therefore, to provide an integrated protocol to include the sensor data to a standard HL7(Health Level7) medical information data.

  • Mobile Multi-hop Relaying (MMR) system can provide increased system capacity of wireless access network by coverage extension and enhanced transmission rate within the Base Station (BS) coverage area. The previous researches for the MMR system with a non-transparent mode Relay Station (RS) do not consider channel selection procedure of Mobile Station (MS), co-channel interference and Multi-hop Relay Base Station (MR-BS) coverage and RS coverage ratio in MMR system. In this paper, we investigate the performance of MMR uplink system in multicell environments with various topologies. The performance is presented in terms of call blocking probability, channel utilization, outage probability and system throughput by varying offered load. It is found that, for certain system parameters, the MMR uplink system achieve the maximum system throughput when MR-BS coverage to RS coverage ratio is 7.

  • Network performance is degraded when the UE is disconnected because the outage occurs at the base station in a mobile communication system. Therefore it is important to detect and recover the outage. In this paper, detecting the outage base station by using the KPI and the network scanning in the neighbor base station, and increasing the transmit power and changing the frequency band to recovery the outage scheme is proposed. The proposed scheme uses not only the KPI of the base station but also the network scanning of the neighbor base stations to detect the outage base station, so that it is possible to detect the outage base station more accurately. In addition, when the outage occurred, the neighbor base station changes the transmit power and frequency band to recover the outage with less signal interference.

  • In the design of mobile wireless communication system, base station location is one of the most important parameters. Designing base station location, the cost must be minimized by combining various, complex parameters. We can solve this problem by combining optimization algorithm, such as Simulated Annealing, Tabu Search, Genetic Algorithm, Random Walk Algorithm that have been used extensively fur global optimization. This paper shows the 4 kinds of algorithm to be applied to the optimization of base station location for communication system and then compares, analyzes the results and shows optimization process of algorithm.

  • This paper presents the implementation and control of a mobile manipulator robot for indoor service. The robot has two arms for tasks and a mobile base for mobility. The robot is designed to have several characteristics. Firstly, the robot has the capability of changing the height of the robot. Secondly, the robot can be changed into a balancing mode of two contact points from mobile mode of four contact points. The robot has a balancing mode like an inverted pendulum robot as well as mobile robot mode. Lastly, as a novel concept, the robot is designed to have the capability of separating into two systems, the robot ann and the mobile robot as well. The mobile base can be separately used for a cleaning service.

  • In this paper, a CSSMA/AI MAC protocol in packet CDMA network is presented. The main features of this protocol are the code status sensing and reservation for reducing the packet collision. The base station broadcasts the code status on a frame-by-frame basis just before the beginning of each preamble transmission, and the mobile station transmits a preamble for reserving a code based on the received code status. After having transmitted the preamble, the mobile station listens to the downlink of the selected code and waits the base station reply. If this reply indicates that the code has been correctly acquired, it continues the packet transmission for the rest of the frame. If there are other packets waiting for transmission, the base station broadcasts the status of the code as reserved, and the mobile station transmits a packet on a reserved code for the successive frames.

  • This paper explains the impact of frequency error on the performance of WCDMA mobile communication systems and what brings about the frequency error between the base station and the mobile station, and then presents automatic frequency error correction method in mobile receiver. On the basis of system requirement related to frequency stability, the integration test between the base station and the mobile station was accomplished. After applying automatic frequency error correction to mobile receiver, 4 Hz of frequency error at transmitting frequency was obtained. The result met frequency error requirement of 0.1ppm(about 200 Hz). Performance degradation due to frequency error was measured by means of Error Vector Magnitude (EVM)

  • This study presents a nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC)-based obstacle avoidance and whole-body motion planning method for the mobile manipulators. For the whole-body motion control, the mobile manipulator with an omnidirectional mobile base was modeled as a nine degrees-of-freedom (DoFs) serial open chain with the PPR (base) plus 6R (arm) joints, and a swept sphere volume (SSV) was applied to define a convex hull for collision avoidance. The proposed receding horizon control scheme can generate a trajectory to track the end-effector pose while avoiding the self-collision and obstacle in the task space. The proposed method could be calculated using an interior-point (IP) method solver with 100[ms] sampling time and ten samples of horizon size, and the validation of the method was conducted in the environment of Pybullet simulation.
