Efficient Method to Support Mobile Virtualization-based Cloud Resource Management (모바일 가상화기반 클라우드 자원관리를 지원하는 효율적 방법)

  • Recently, various cloud service has been being provided on mobile devices as well as desktop pc and server computer. Also, Smartphone users are very rapidly increasing, and they are using it for enjoying various services(cloud service, game, banking service, mobile office, etc.). So, research to utilize resources on mobile device has been conducted. In this paper, We have suggested efficient method of cloud resource management by using information of available physical resources(CPU, memory, storage, etc.) between mobile devices, and information of physical resource in mobile device. Suggested technology is possible to guarantee real-time process and efficiently manage resources.

  • Recently, with smart device proliferation and providing the various services using this, they have interested in mobile and Smart TV security. Smartphone users are enjoying various service, such as cloud, game, banking. But today's mobile security solutions and Study of Smart TV Security simply stays at the level of malicious code detection, mobile device management, security system itself. Accordingly, there is a need for technology for preventing hacking and leakage of sensitive information, such as certificates, legal documents, individual credit card number. To solve this problem, a variety of security technologies(mobile virtualization, ARM TrustZone, GlobalPlatform, MDM) in mobile devices have been studied. In this paper, we propose an efficient method to implement security technology based on TYPE-I virtualization using ARM TrustZone technology.

Advantages and Disadvantages of a Cashless System in Thailand during the COVID-19 Pandemic

  • At present, the payment system in Thailand changes from a paper-based system to a cashless payment system. A coin has its two sides, so the cashless payment has its advantages and disadvantages. This article describes the general advantages and disadvantages of a cashless society in Thailand in the COVID-19 situation. The cashless payment in Thailand consists of credit cards, automated teller machines, direct debit, mobile/Internet banking, e-Wallet, PromptPay, and QR code. The cashless payment is able to assist the government for tax collection accuracy and facilitates users to make financial transactions more transparent and efficient. In addition, the cashless system provides benefits to businesses in which they are able to increase sales and expand business by providing convenient, safe and faster services to customers in making payment for goods/services. It assists businesses to save time and cost of cash management and reduce the paperwork. The cashless payment made the life of students, housewives, and elderly people very easy to carry out financial transactions and there is no need to meet the financial institution staff. This payment system needs advanced technology system skills, a smartphone, and a technology facility. Finally, the cashless payment can reduce the spreading of COVID-19.

Android based Mobile Device Rooting Attack Detection and Response Mechanism using Events Extracted from Daemon Processes (안드로이드 기반 모바일 단말 루팅 공격에 대한 이벤트 추출 기반 대응 기법)

  • Recently, the number of attacks by malicious application has significantly increased, targeting Android-platform mobile terminal such as Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab 10.1. The malicious application can be distributed to currently used mobile devices through open market masquerading as an normal application. An attacker inserts malicious code into an application, which might threaten privacy by rooting attack. Once the rooting attack is successful, malicious code can collect and steal private data stored in mobile terminal, for example, SMS messages, contacts list, and public key certificate for banking. To protect the private information from the malicious attack, malicious code detection, rooting attack detection and countermeasure method are required. To meet this end, this paper investigates rooting attack mechanism for Android-platform mobile terminal. Based on that, this paper proposes countermeasure system that enables to extract and collect events related to attacks occurring from mobile terminal, which contributes to active protection from malicious attacks.

User Authentication Using Biometrics and OTP in Mobile Device (중소기업형 바이오정보와 OTP를 이용한 사용자 인증)

  • According to increasing of payment and settlements like smart banking, internet shopping and contactless transaction in smart device, the security issues are on the rise, such as the vulnerability of the mobile OS and certificates abuse problem, we need a secure user authentication. We apply the OTP using biometrics and PKI as user authentication way for dealing with this situation. Biometrics is less risk of loss and steal than other authentication that, in addition, the security can be enhanced more when using the biometric with OTP. In this paper, we propose a user authentication using biometrics and OTP in the mobile device.

The Adoption of Using Mobile Payment During COVID-19 Pandemic: An Empirical Study in Vietnam

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has imposed a number of restrictions on the lives of people and services, forcing them to adopt a "New Normal" way of living. Contactless technologies provide a mechanism to reduce the risk of infection, encouraging people to use touchless payment methods. The aim of this study is to develop an integrated framework based on the Health Belief Model and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology to justify the use of mobile payment during the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam. Based on a survey of 434 samples, the proposed conceptual model was empirically justified using structural equation modeling (SEM). This study found that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, enjoyment, perceived severity, and perceived susceptibility significantly and positively influenced behavioral intention of using contactless payment technologies. In addition, this study discovered that effort expectancy, perceived severity, and perceived susceptibility all have a positive impact on performance expectancy, while enjoyment triggered users' effort expectancy. By adding novel insights into the literature on the acceptance of technology during the pandemic, this study makes a major contribution to justifying how contactless payment technologies can reduce the risk of getting infected by COVID-19.

  • In these days, various wireless internet services are possible since the advanced wireless networks enable to transfer more data than before and smarter devices have developed to display the multimedia information more efficiently. Therefore, Korean MIPS such as SKT and LGT provide many kinds of advanced services such as wireless on-line shopping, mobile banking system and etc using 2.5 generation wireless network technology and smartcards. In a transportation system, a cellular phone can be used as a useful payment tool since most people always keep it and a mobile payment system has developed as infrastructure for wireless on-line services. In this paper, a mobile transportation payment system is introduced. A driver needs to pay a toll fee when he/she uses the highways. Recently, a high pass system has introduced, in which a vehicle can pass a toll gate without stopping to pay the fee to a counter. The payment is done automatically by an attached payment device. We have developed an advanced mobile system in which a smartcard embedded cellular phone is used as a payment device. The personnel and financial information is stored at a smartcard and the communication between the phone and OBU(On Board Unit) is done by Bluetooth.

  • As mobile terminal environment gets matured, the use of Android platform based mobile terminals has been growing high. Recently, the number of attacks by malicious application is also increasing as Android platform is vulnerable to private information leakage in nature. Most of these malicious applications are easily distributed to general users through open market or internet and an attacker inserts malicious code into malicious app which could be harmful tool to steal private data and banking data such as SMS, contacts list, and public key certificate to a remote server. To cope with these security threats more actively, it is necessary to develop countermeasure system that enables to detect security vulnerability existing in mobile device and take an appropriate action to protect the system against malicious attacks. In this sense, this paper aggregates diverse system events from multiple mobile devices and also implements a system to detect attacks by malicious application.

  • Recently, a mobile communication network and the wireless terminal is suddenly develop, mobile office service is more and more the sportlight. However, the user may receive an attack from a malicious third party if the up/download the data in the remote to perform the work in a mobile office environment. In this paper, we propose scheme to manage the information lost due to theft smartphone that contain spill prevention personal information and company information from the mobile office environment (call history, incoming messages, phonebook, calendar, location information, banking information, documents, etc.). The proposed scheme using the number of triangular fuzzy information about the state of the personal information and business intelligence to implement a pair-wise comparison matrix. In particular, the proposed scheme is to prevent the value obtained by constructing a pair-wise comparison matrix for personal information and business intelligence and pair your smartphone is lost when a third party not allow access to personal information and corporate information is leaked to the outside.

  • Recently, with the development of wireless communications and mobile computing, interest about mobile computing is rising. Mobile computing can be regarded as an environment where a user carries mobile devices, such as a PDA or a notebook, and shares resources with a server computer via wireless communications. A mobile database refers to a database which is used in these mobile devices. The mobile database can be used in the fields of insurance business, banking business, medical treatment, and so on. Especially, LBS(Location Based Service) which utilizes location information of users becomes an essential field of mobile computing. In order to support LBS in the mobile environment, there must be an Embedded Spatial MMDBMS(Main-Memory Database Management System) that can efficiently manage large spatial data in spatial mobile devices. Therefore, in this paper, we designed and implemented the Embedded Spatial MMDBMS, extended from the HSQLDB which is an existing MMDBMS for PC, to manage spatial data efficiently in spatial mobile devices. The Embedded Spatial MMDBMS adopted the spatial data model proposed by ISO(International Organization for Standardization), provided the arithmetic coding method that is suitable for spatial data, and supported the efficient spatial index which uses the MBR compression and hashing method suitable for spatial mobile devices. In addition, the system offered the spatial data display capability in low-performance processors of spatial mobile devices and supported the data caching and synchronization capability for performance improvement of spatial data import/export between the Embedded Spatial MMDBMS and the GIS server.
