Usage based mobile menu optimization (사용량 기반의 모바일 메뉴 최적화 - 요일제 메뉴 개발을 통한 모바일 서비스 이용 활성화)

  • People are experiencing severe navigation problems in mobile site Relatively limited research, however, has been conducted on mobile site navigation compared to web site navigation. This research aims to identify efficient mobile site navigation aids for timely preferred contents. It proposed timely menu system based on statistic data, and evaluates its efficiency through commercial beta test. We conducted a beta test in the fourth quarter of the year 2007. The total number of user is 12,000. The average number of PV (page view) by the experimental group was increased to 10% more than control group. Our results indicate that timely menu system helps people navigate mobile menu system more effectively.

User Interface Model Based Automatic Mobile Web Application Generation Tool for Embedded Systems (내장형 시스템을 위한 사용자 인터페이스 모델 기반 모바일 웹앱 자동 생성 도구)

  • This paper presents a tool that automatically generates mobile web applications from user interface (UI) models which are based on PELUM (Pattern and Event based Logical User Interface Modeling). PELUM is a method for the effective development of UI-centered embedded systems via UI modeling. The proposed tool consists of a model editor and a code generator. The former provides an environment for modeling a Logical UI Model (LUM) and a Programming Interface Model (PIM) on the web. On the other hand, the code generator sets the screen configuration and events' behavior, according to the LUM, synthesizing a local database schema according to the PIM, and then generates an executable mobile web app. It also can produce mashup web apps by receiving an open API address via the PIM. The generated mobile web apps follow the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture in order for users to easily customize them. The proposed tool enables them to generate mobile web apps that can be executed on various devices by modeling logical UIs on the web.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the IT resources on the work efficiency and corporate performance in Mobile Smart-Work Environment with IT convergence Technology by applying the Resource-Based View. The study has an academic meaning by empirically analyzing the effects of factors identified based on the existing study on the IT resources in Mobile Smart-Work, and practical implications to identify how the significance of the Mobile Smart-Work used as a platform of variety industries in manufacturing, logistics, service, distribution, finance, public institutions, and so on positively affects improvement of corporate efficiency and performance. The results showed that IT Infrastructure and IT skills in the Mobile Smart-work environment were found to bring positive effects on individual work efficiency, and IT skills had positive influence on team work efficiency. Also, we confirmed the individual and team work efficiency positively affect financial and market performance of business firms. Finally, we expect that business firm equipped with IT resources in the Mobile Smart-Work environment with IT convergence Technology. It can improve this work efficiency and the performance, which leads to strengthening the core competency.

View-Dependent Real-time Rain Streaks Rendering (카메라 의존적 파티클 시스템을 이용한 실시간 빗줄기 렌더링)

  • Realistic real-time rain streaks rendering has been treated as a very difficult problem because of various natural phenomena. Also, in creating and managing a large number of particles, a large amount of computer resources had to be used. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a more efficient real-time rain streaks rendering algorithm by generating view-dependent rain particles and expressing a large amount of rain even with a small number. By creating a 'rain space' dependent on the field of view of the camera moving in real time, particles are rendered only in that space. Accordingly, even if a small number of particles are rendered, since the rendering is performed in a limited space, an effect of rendering a very large amount of particles can be obtained. This enables very efficient real-time rendering of rain streaks.

  • Mobile SNS like facebook is famous as an app which users cooperate others and share information without regard to time and place. But it is necessary to evaluate the mobile app accessibility in view of the disabled and the aged to check if they get appropriate interface service to use such a popular app. Mobile app accessibility is an indicator of equal opportunity to mobile app for all users regardless of cognitive and physical attribute. Therefore, this paper evaluates accessibility of facebook and kakaotalk mobile SNS, apprehend the status of conform to the manual, and suggest an improving way, based on 'mobile application accessibility guideline' announced by government and 'mobile application (Android) accessibiliy checking manual(v1.0)' by National Information society agency.

  • With the increasing demand for a better FPD image quality, better evaluation metrics and advanced display quality measurement methods are required to meet these needs. There are many measurement methods for evaluating the viewing angle of various display devices, but these methods, which include luminance drop, color shift, and contrast ratio decrease, are imperfect considering that human perception does not completely correlate to them. In this paper, a new method of measuring the perceptual angle of FPDs is proposed, considering human visual perception, which uses the color space of the color appearance model.

  • 모바일 디바이스의 보급 증가로 인해 사용자의 인터넷 접속이 증가하고 있다. 하지만 모바일 디바이스의 제한된 작은 인터페이스로 인하여 많은 양에 정 보를 화면에 표현 하는데 어려움을 가지고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 스크롤과 같은 방법을 이용하지만, 이런 방법은 전체 정보의 연관관계를 파악 하기 어렵는 문제점을 안고 있으며,사이클 존재하는 그래프 구조를 표현하기에는 부적합하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 모바일 디바이스의 디스플레이 공간을 효과적으로 이용하기 위한 정보 layout 방법 과 사용자가 효율적으로 정보를 검색할 수 있는 시각화 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 원을 이용하여 정보를 배치한 Radial layout을 개선한 Rectangle layout을 사용하여 스크린 모서리 공간 손실을 줄인다. 그 다음 Rectangle상에 layout된 정보에 대해 정보간의 연관관계를 한눈에 쉽게 파악하여 원하는 정보에 더욱 빠르게 접근할 수 있는 시각화 알고리즘을 적용한다.

  • For visual navigation, mobile robot can use a stereo camera which has large field of view. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to detect and recognize human face on the basis of such camera system. In this paper, a new coarse to fine detection algorithm is proposed. For coarse detection, nearly face-like areas are found in entire image using dual ellipse templates. And, detailed alignment of facial outline and features is performed on the basis of view- based multiple appearance model.   • Recently many areas require wide field of view images. Such as surveillance, virtual reality, navigation and 3D scene reconstruction. Conventional camera systems have a limited filed of view and provide partial information about the scene. however, omni directional vision system can overcome these disadvantages. Acquiring 360 degree panorama images requires expensive omni camera lens. In this study, 360 degree panorama image was tested using a low cost optical reflector which captures 360 degree panoramic views with single shot. This 360 degree panorama image system can be used with detailed positional information from GPS/INS. Through this study result, we show 360 degree panorama image is very effective tool for mobile monitoring system.
